abrupt speedchange on short final

Featured Replies

obviously my previuos thread was removed. Vin, do you have a problem?let's hope that you PMDG answer my questions this time.let's resume what happenedwhile being on short final with my PMDG 737-700 the aircraft suddenly begun to tumble and to pull up into the skies.my autopilot was set to IAS 145 knots like the FMC suggested. it took me a few seconds to notice that the autopilot speed was changed. the PFD was showing 110 knots and the autopilot was following that command.like Randy already noticed, it could be an interference with my FS Meteo that was running too.it there any other idea, what could have happened?

Have you tried reproducing it without any weather? Most likely, the lack of smooth wind/pressure transitions in FS is to blame. In FS2002, you can use the smoothing feature in FSUIPC, unfortunately this doesn't work in FS9.Cheers,Gosta.http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg

Martin,>my autopilot was set to IAS 145 knots like the FMC suggested.>it took me a few seconds to notice that the autopilot speed>was changed. >the PFD was showing 110 knots and the autopilot>was following that command.Did i I get you right, that the displayed speed on the MCP was 110 kt suddenly - or 'just' the PFD display ? I can't imagine, that the AP 'followed' the PFD - I would assume, your MCP still displayed 145kt, but that the AutoThrottle was switched off (for some unknown reasons of course ;) ) - but without a screenshot we'll never know...HansJuergen

the magenta indicator in the PFD was @ 110 knots, the aircraft was deccelerating straight towards these 110 knots, however the MCP was still indicating 145 knots.i pushed TO/GA button on the MCP and the aircraft began to re-accelerate. then i decided to land the bird manually.i had this for the first and unique time, i cannot reproduce it. but someone else might have experienced the same.i am using FS2002, just if i haven't mentionedFSUIPC 2.97cheers

that is the FS Meteo configuration page, not FSUIPC. yes i am using the freeware 2.97i think i just found out the problem. the aircraft is excess of MLW. wing fuel tanks are more than 60% full. my landing weight is 155'000 -160'000 lbs. i noticed the reference speeds are incorrect calculated by the FMC. MLW of a 737-700 is around 125'000 lbs. i adjusted the proper fuel load, flew the route again, landing ok while being within specs.A fuel planning tool for a 737 NG would be cool ;)the struggeling began always when i reach those 145 knots set in the MCP. then the aircraft began to pitch up. ok i have no explication why the IAS indicator would be displaying 110 knots. but the rest is explainable.too much load, not enough speed to stay in the air, aircraft pitches up, stall is imminent.sorry for bothering. thanks to those that tried to help me :D
