PMDG737 Service Ceiling

Featured Replies

I'm currently using FSBuild2.1 to build flightplans, And I have to manually change the cruising Altitude just about every time, because the program sets it too high.I have a Hard time getting the aircraft past FL370, with a struggle I can get it to FL390 and forget about over FL400.What should I be cruising at? And is there a site I can look at that can tell me the various Altitudes of the airways? I'd hate to smack anothe Bird heading West, when I'm heading East, because I'm at the same Alt. as him. Also, what's the Service Ceiling for the PMDG 737-600/700's anyways?ThanksPaul.

Not sure whats wrong, but I do know that I can get the 737 up to FL430(or in that neighborhood) with a little. Perhaps you have too much fuel, or too many pax/cargo?

41,000 MAX, as for your other question, it's a simple matter of which heading *RANGE* you fall under which will tell you what altitude you can choose from. Search and you shall find ;)[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. Smithhttp://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-5/196432/winglets_lg.jpg

Paul,The altitudes you can file depend on your direction of flight rather than your routing. Below are the correct altitudes for both directions of flight.East:FL190, FL210, FL230, FL250, FL270, FL290, FL330, FL370, FL410West:FL180, FL200, FL220, FL240, FL260, FL280, FL310, FL350, FL390FL is short for "flight level". Just multiply the numbers by 100 to get the altitude represented by a "flight level". For example, FL350 = 35,000 feet. Hope this helps.-Shaun

>I'm currently using FSBuild2.1 to build flightplans, And I have to >manually change the cruising Altitude just about every time, >because the program sets it too high.FL410 should be the max for the default 'B737-700 w/ CFM56-7B24' profile in Fsbuidl2.But if you want to lower the maximum automatic cruise altitude selection, edit the .prf file associated with that Aircraft, and comment out the higher altudes from the Altitude Capability table. For the default '37' it would be Fsbuild/Aircraft/b737cfm.prf file.Commenting out the last two lines would lower the Max Cruise altitude automatically selected to FL370.Example: (b737cfm.prf)[Altitude]; --- Altitude Capability ;Altiude GrossWt29000 18000031000 18000033000 18000035000 17000037000 150000;39000 130000 <<<---- comment out these lines;41000 120000Regards.Ernie.
