November 25, 200322 yr Well I got the 737 all I can say is WOW!Installation was a breez, I managed to get the plane to start... after 2 hours, coulnd fid the battery switch. and yes I was reading the basic tut. anyway I got it started and I switched my view to the outside and my ear drums got blown out by this awful hissing noise. So that is now my ownly problem, as long as I stay in one view it is all ok, but if I change view to the outside it hisses, and the only way to stop it is to reload the aircraft. So once I get that fixed it should all be ok.Thanks PMDG guys for the cool, complex, aircraft! I love it.David.
November 25, 200322 yr Hi David, are you using Soundblaster sound card?Take a look in this thread, please:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...ing_type=searchRegards,Jorge Niny
November 25, 200322 yr thanks, but that did not help. any other ideas other then buying a new soundcard?:-zhelp
November 25, 200322 yr Sorry you're having sound problem's with the '37. Can you back down your sound quality within FS and report back? If you're running high quality, try mid and if mid try low. Sometimes this helps. What soundcard and driver version are you using. If you have an addon sound card, is the motherboard built-in sound(if applicable) disabled in the bios? http://www.precision...GX_Dev_Team.jpg PMDG Graphic Designer
November 27, 200322 yr "If you're running high quality, try mid and if mid try low."Ok I tryed that and it was a no go. I have a Soundblaster Live Value. As for the drivers, it is the ones that comes with XP. If I try to upgrade my drivers my computer crashes. SO, It looks as if I am going to HAVE to get a new soundcard. Any Ideas?David.
November 27, 200322 yr What exactly causes it to crash? I have Win XP Pro and Sound Blaster Live Gamer (same card as yours really) and have no issues updating. Are you logged in as ADMIN? Are you downloading the *correct* patch file?Thier site can be a bit confusing...Cheers,[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. Smithhttp://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-5/196432/winglets_lg.jpg Randy J Smith
November 27, 200322 yr Well what happines is after I install the drivers my computer starts lagging BIG TIME. As for the correct file I have no Idea. also another bummer is, once they are installed I can not uninstall them. so i have to do a whole re-format. You said log in as admin, do I need to start the PC in safe mode to log into the addmin? I always get confused on that.
November 27, 200322 yr Hi there,I have the exact same card as you, and I'm using older WinXP drivers,Ver. 3509.2.0.0 - file name: SBLiveXPDrvUpdate.exeThis file basically updates the drivers that ship with WinXP. I've tried the latest SB drivers, but then I get the same problem as you have described. If you cannot get hold of this file, e-mail me at [email protected] and I can either send them by e-mail or we can make an alternative arrangement. The file size is approximately 9.2 MBRegardsHenning| P4 2.0 GIG | Epox 4G4A Motherboard | 1 GIG RAM | Gainward GeForce4 Ti4200 128MB | 80 GIG IBM Deskstar 7200 | Sound Blaster Live! |"You know that you are low and slow when you get a bird strike from behind..."

November 27, 200322 yr David,For what it's worth, I had the same problem a while ago with a Soundblaster 512PCI card. The funny thing was that all was OK when I first purchased the NG. But than all of a sudden got this problem, the one thing I changed before the problem occurred was that some MS XP updates were installed.I rolled back my XP system to before those patches and then the sound problem was gone again. I never did figure out which update caused the problem exactly....In the end I decided to go for a more modern soundcard as I really didn't want to run into this again. Also no new drivers/updates had been created for my card in a looooong time, so probably time to upgrade....I realize this may not be of too much help thought I'd share it anyway...Johan
