December 9, 200322 yr Me and some other people brought this up before about the 737NG loosing it's tracking on final. Now i have a great explanation of the problem that i have. Today i was on a flight from KBHM-KBWI i was on final for ILS33L i pressed (APP)mode as the glideslope came alive, i was flying at a speed of 180Kts i slowed to 151Kts my i was about 10Miles out then suddenly the airplane started climing and the airspeed started going up the autothrottle suddenly was not working and this message appeared (GPWS)in yellow in one of the CRT's. Usually when this happens i turn off all automation and i start flying the approach completly on manual.I Will Be Waiting For Some Feedbacks. Randy I Know You Are Going To Spot This One.Thank You. December 9, 200322 yr Sounds like alpha floor kicking in. Were you configured to land? If you weren't the plane will begin to climb out.
December 9, 200322 yr Hi Adib,What was your flap settings and your weight at that speed, 151 KIAS?As Fred were saying I think you got the stall protection kicking in here. Look at your speed tape and watch those green flap manouevering speed marks.Hope it helps, Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
December 9, 200322 yr You know I have heard of this more than once ;). It IS the alpha protection kicking in but why it did it for you am I not sure, could be a number of things but I would guess your flap settings. Just try it flying around at that speed with NO flaps and see what the AP does to save you. Anyways SU2 is almost right upon us (Big clock ticking) and be sure to give it a go and report ;). I have yet to see this myself... [h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. Smithhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/betaimg.jpg Randy J Smith
December 10, 200322 yr Author So the aircraft is configured like that based on the real aircraft. this is a question. Plus the aircraft was configured to land based on runway enabling approach speed and so on. i will pay attention to the flap tape as i start going down into the glideslope.Best Regards Adib Afraj Best Regards Adib Afraj
December 10, 200322 yr One other possibility is that you have REAL WEATHER going on? Active Sky maybe? I have seen where at times AS caused the IAS to go to 0. [h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. Smithhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/betaimg.jpg Randy J Smith
December 10, 200322 yr Author I Usually fly using VATSIM so i guess you can call that real weather. So is it a problem with the aircraft or what. Just trying to get under this problemThanks. Best Regards Adib Afraj Best Regards Adib Afraj
December 10, 200322 yr Just curious...are you setting the Vref speed for the selected flap setting or are you selecting Vref + 5 (or adjustment for wind)?Jeff
