SU2 Prep

Featured Replies

Captains,As you prep for SU2, I thought it might be a good time to advise you on a few things. If you have any custom SIDSTAR's you should back them up as the update will overwrite this folder, same for any flight plans you have. If you have any liveries you want to keep until the official PMDG liveries are ready, you should also back these up along with a copy of your current aircraft config files for the 600/700/700Winglet. Don't forget to run the uninstall tool after you've made all of your backup and just before you run your SU2 installer. Just go slow Captains and everything will work as advertised. You're gonna love what we've done!

Technically though, backing up SIDSTARs will do you no good because the format has drastically changed. Don't worry though, there is a VERY thorough tutorial that Terry Yingling wrote on making the new procedures included with SU2!Ryan

So the old sid/stars we have will not work at all with SU2?__Josh

Theoretically, I think Anthony tried to make them still read in, but trust me, once you see what the new format can do, you won't want to use the old ones! Transitions, instrument approaches, speeds, directs, track hold, it's all there!Ryan

Thanks for the clarification, Ryan. That's why I should stick to the outside of the plane and leave the other stuff to you guys ;-)
