March 9, 200422 yr Yep, I agree with you on this one, especially since this is a relatively small "problem" - at least for me.I can just say, I hope we all get our satisfaction, one way or another.
March 9, 200422 yr Thanks for that Word Not Allowed,I, like Blair, don't have access to that kind of software. It's a shame your not allowed to upload them or send them to people, I assume it's down to copyrights.I agree that it should be PMDG that fixes this. As Blair said, it may be an express product but we all still paid for it.It'd be nice if PMDG said something about this aswell (HINT)Word Not Allowed, is the sound bug I've described here fixed when you altered the sound files, or is it down to the sound.cfg as Philip suggested? Thanks for the input, I guess all we, who can't edit the sounds, can do is to keep bumping this when it gets lost in the pages until it's fixed.CheersDavidP.s. Word Not Allowed, Do you know anywhere that has a freebie sound editor that will do the job?
March 9, 200422 yr Well, for what I'm concerned, there are two errors...One is what Philip mentioned, and one is looping. Looping is a simple error, which you notice in regular steps. Like every 5 seconds or so, a click, an uneven sound, or even worse. Repairable as I mentioned in my post. Easy piece of cake. And what Philip mentioned, is indeed a problem in the sound.cfg file, which I have no idea how to edit. If someone told me with which program and where to find it, I'd give it a try. The problem is when you push your throttle back from the cruise or 100% throtlle down. Somehow it has this weird lag, and sound that doesn't accompany it well, the engine goes down, and sounds like it's in idle, the crossfade between these two also happens fast, so from the sound engineering side, it's ok, but from the reality side, sounds pretty unreal and odd. I wish I knew how to repair this, but unfortunately I don't.Maybe if I get some time in the future, I might look for some programs for editing sound.cfg and try it on my own.Until then, PMDG - HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP! :-lol
March 10, 200422 yr I'm very surprised this clicking sound issue hasn't been more of a concern with the many other users. I have stopped flying the 1900 because of this looping click sound every 5 seconds...very annoying. Seems there is no interest from PMDDG to correct this which is somewhat dissappointing. For someone that is familiar with editing sound files and is able to correct it, this may not be a problem. For a payware aircraft, I have not been very satisfied with this one. Until I can find cleaner sounds, it will be sitting in the hangar. :( Maybe the 737 has spoiled me....
March 10, 200422 yr Hi Flic,You are right about spoiled :) Thing is, probably most of the users know how to fix this, and aren't even reading these posts. Few others, don't care about this, and the rest of us b**ch about it :-lolWish I could help you further mate!
March 10, 200422 yr Hey Word Not Allowed,Can you tell me which files need to be fixed, I found my old freebie copy of soundforge (v4.5, kinda old but still does the job).I already fixed turdo3.wav, that made a big difference, but what others need tweaking?CheersDavidP.S. Should I save the turbo3.wav in it's native mono channel only or make it stereo?
March 10, 200422 yr Commercial Member Captains,We are in communication with the original sound developer for the PMDG Express B1900 to tweak and clean up some of the sounds. Stay tuned.VinPMDGwww.precisionmanuals.comhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/devteam.jpg Vin Scimone Precision Manuals Development Group www.precisionmanuals.com
March 10, 200422 yr David, can't really say, since I went through all the files and "repaired" them, however good they were, I simply made them perfect.Let's hope the corrected sounds arrive soon!
