I am in the process of making a documentary on the aviation industry and I have actually asked that question to a few pilots, particularly 737-600 and 744 pilots. 1 answer that seems to outnumber the rest is the pilot doesn't trust the autopilot on landing!?!? Mostly they let the autopilot fly down to about 500-1000ft agl but then they'd rather fly it down themselves from there "just in case"Goran
