March 21, 200422 yr Nice, thats the one were I make my charter flights with but it see a Dutch Registration.
March 21, 200422 yr Author Yep, It's correct for this aircraft, ex-Transavia ;-) I'm doing two additional Air Berliners. http://www.precision...GX_Dev_Team.jpg PMDG Graphic Designer
March 21, 200422 yr Author Sheesh, why'd I choose that one? Ok, off to see if there are any other non-wingleted 800's for Air Berlin. http://www.precision...GX_Dev_Team.jpg PMDG Graphic Designer
March 21, 200422 yr haha LOLDo not choose the one's with a dutch reg, they will all return to Transavia in march/April :(
March 21, 200422 yr I went to different places (i.e. Tenerife) with Air Berlin and they are ALWAYS late. They also seem to have severe problems to get a replacement aicraft when the original one has a technical fault. But never mind, the painting looks great! Looking forward to simulate some Tenerife-flights with that one :-)
March 22, 200422 yr Bein delayed seems to be one of the "standard features" of low fare carriers. The minimum departure delay out of LSGG (Geneva, Switzerland)into EHAM (Amsterdam Schiphol), EGKK (London Gatwick), EGGW (London Luton) and LEBL (Barcelona El Prat)I so far had with EasyJet (EZS) was 40 minutes, the worst was over 2 hours, narrowly escaping a cancellation due to night curfews. On at least one occasion when flying Swiss International to EGLL (London Heathrow) from Geneva, I had seen all EZS flights scheduled to depart after 6:30 pm (1730Z) delayed by at least 2 hours and then all cancelled one by one.I made the same observations with Air Berlin on my three last flights to Berlin Tegel (EDDT), seeing every single Air Berlin flight scheduled to arrive or depart from there delayed by at least 30 minutes, while everybody else was pretty much on time.I guess they cut their turnaround around times too much, (scheduled turnaround time for EsayJet at LSGG in some cases is as little as 20 min.)in order to keep their equipment in the air as much as possible, so any small delay in the morning will have a domino effect, most likely causing them to miss their assigned slots at some of the busier airport later in the day, which of course leads to even bigger delays. But I guess that's the price we have to pay for super cheap airfares. Even our national carrier Swiss International has a bad "on time" record, especially out of Zurich (LSZH), due to (clearly illegal, violating bilateral treaties and international law) approach restrictions forced on Switzerland unilaterally by Germany. But Swiss's delay are nowhere near as severe as thos ofe the budget carriers serving Switzerland (EasyJet, Air Berlin, Germanwings, Germania Express, Virgin Express). So I guess those carriers are at the "bottom of the food chain" when it comes to being reassigned slots if they miss one. March 22, 200422 yr I guess, you are perfectly right, Max! I also think that low cost carriers like Air Berlin just do not plan extra capacitites: if there's a technical fault, there just *is* no other aircraft that can perform the flight. they're all in the air...
