May 5, 200422 yr :-lolAutogen Engineers built a tower right on final path to RNWY 10 at SBAR. Go figure! :-lolOps, by the way, I was doing a full visual, no AP landing, and despite the fact that speed brakes were armed and throtles in idle at 50ft, autospeedbrake did not deploy, resulting in a double touchdown.....:-hmmm .. :-hmmm http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/74633.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/74634.jpg
May 5, 200422 yr Hello Joselito,Looks like you are in for an "electrifying" experience:-)When did 737s "fly by wire"....heheheheSorry for the word play:-)Abraco,Ryan BeardSBGL,KJAN
May 5, 200422 yr "and despite the fact that speed brakes were armed and throtles in idle at 50ft, autospeedbrake did not deploy, resulting in a double touchdown.....:-hmmm .. :-hmmm" I see you are manually controlling SPD there, so IF you place your throttle lever (physical controller) to IDLE and make sure that you have callibrated it and then hit F1 AFTER this but prior to landing I could bet you it the spoilers will deploy. Pretty confidant eh?[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. May 5, 200422 yr Hy Randy,Hmmmm... it might be the calibration, although it worked on a previous flight and it was perfect calibrated. I think I'll give up using the throtles on my forcefedback 2 and use just the keyboard (F1-thru-F4) instead, because it is too much workload during the landing phase to remember to hit F1 after retarding the throtle. Do you think the developers can figure out a way to reduce the sensibility of the spoilers (in regarding to mechanic input from joysticks) and yet keep the functionality of an aborted landing?
May 5, 200422 yr They are looking at it but what we have is what we need to work with at present. I am unsure what the plans are so will wait on commenting on future plans. I don't find it much more of a workload at landing, I simply hit F1 anytime I am above the rwy either in autland config or manually.[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. May 6, 200422 yr (said VERY tongue in cheek)Well, if you WERE lined up on the approach, maybe you wouldn't hit the tower!! Look how far right you are!!!(ok, end ribbing and joking now)What an odd place for a tower.. :)Trevor LoweCYYZ Apron CoordinatorTerminal 3YYZTWCR
May 6, 200422 yr lol, all pilots aren't perfect. Actually, about 50% of visual approaches result in a double touchdown.Nick B.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/800driver.jpg--AMD Athlon XP 3200+ @ 2.25 Ghz (405 mhz FSB)Soyo VIA KT600 Dragon PlusnVidia GeForce FX 5200 128 mb2 x 512 PC400100 GB Western DigitalMicrosoft Sidewinder Precision 2
May 6, 200422 yr :-lolC'mon guys! I did it on purpose! ROFLI wanted to see how close I could get to the tower and yet make a safe landing... LOL.Well, at least my vertical path was ok... hehehe. It's hard to be aligned when you have no radio aids... and my video card doesn't help much... :(
May 6, 200422 yr Well you did very well indeed! Good Job.One question (as an ex Cabin Purser), what did you tell the passengers?
May 7, 200422 yr Hi Burak,If you do have your TCAS working (transponder set to TA/RA and TFC button pressed on efis control panel), just change your EFIS range to something greater than 5 miles, and the rings will come up.Hope this helps,Regards,
May 7, 200422 yr Thank you for your respond but ring does not come up still tcas set ta/ra, tfc botton on i changed the range too no ring at allBurakhttp://www.flythy.com/images/banner.jpg
May 7, 200422 yr There's a setting in the Styles menu that allows for traffic rings.. Forgot exactly where..Trevor LoweCYYZ Apron CoordinatorTerminal 3YYZTWCR
