Hey Liam, Someone posted this real life delivery route for a U2 -700 a while back:EZY100 FL370KBFI..YDC.J503.YNY.J527.YMM.NCAC.CANEL..6800N/06000W..6800N/05000W..6700N/04000W..6500N/03000W..6200N/02000W..GOMUP.UN572.GINGA.UN570.BEL.UL10.WAL..EGGW/0921It works out to be about 4200NM (using the Lorel1H STAR). It is possible to fly this route in the 700, but only if mother nature helps you out. With a ZFW of 83000lbs (no pax or cargo), you'd need to have at least a 70kt tailwind for the entire flight (leaving 1800lbs min landing fuel and 500lbs for taxi) to fly this route.Of course this is discounting Cost Index, derated take off and climb, LRC Cruise and step climbs.I haven't tried this flight, 10hr flights don't really appeal to me :) It is possible though, you just have to pick the right day to do it.CheersDavid

Hey Liam,I know that feeling! Luckly I have an excellent FO flying with me, his name: Auto P. Ilot :) He allows me numerous trips downstairs for refreshments during the longer flights, only problem is he can't use the radios yet ;)I'm about to embark on my longest flight so far, EGGW - LGAV 1383Nm (Route: EGGW DVR***.UL9.KONAN.UL607.ATV..LGAV).Normally I only fly short routes within Europe (currently flying routes CheesyJet use).CheersDavid

squeezy routes huh.... just finished with a load of those.if you ever fly to northen italy watch out for the alps and dont run off for a coffee during the tod!!!! you fly sraight "thru" the alps,i saved mine just in time and flew manuallly over at 10000ft and my f/o (brother to yours i guess), was screaming his head off at my altitude and that there was a mountain in the way, as if i couldnt see it!?!?!?!?!good luckLiam

Hey Liam,Yeah, those Eff O's can get a bit excited sometimes. Last time I flew into Italy was going into Venice at night coming from EGSS, took a route that crossed the Alps over the most western fringes. Still, them hills can get pretty tall :)How do you make up your routes? Do you have access to the real life routes used or do you just make them up yourself? Personally I use the SRD anytime I'm in/over the UK and just guess work the rest of the time, picking the airways that are closest to the great circle route. It can take me anywhere upto between 1-2hrs to get a good looking route - part of the fun I suppose :)All the best,David

Hey Liam,Thanks for the link. I'll need to see how close mine and it's routes are.CheersDavid

If anyone is interested in crossing the other pond:I was lucky enough to do a real world delivery flight of ZK-PBC from KBFI via PHTO, NSTU to NZCH. Will try and drag up the routing etc if anyone is interested. The fuel stop at NSTU was only just needed. We could have squeezed NZCH with about 1.5 tonnes but IRL we avoid 'pucker-factor' wherever possible.. what little hair we have left we like to keep from going any more grey than necessary :)ATB,
