May 9, 200422 yr Hi,Could someone explain to me what 'Upper November 850' means in the ATC phrase below."Scandinavian 123, Arlanda, good evening. Start-up approved, QNH 993, runway 19 Right in use. Cleared to Sturup via NOSLI 2 Golf departure, Upper November 850, Altitude 5000 feet, Squawk 7351"TIA,
May 9, 200422 yr It`s the name of the airway they`re cleared to follow after flying the NOSLI 2G SID - UN850.Cheers,Kjell.
May 9, 200422 yr Yes. Pushback and start is requested from ground/ramp control. There are some exceptions like very small airports where tower is the only controller. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
May 9, 200422 yr Yep, Antti is right. Varies with airport size, and may also vary with traffic loads. At my airport (ENBR) ground is only manned during peak hours, otherwise the TWR ATCO handles ground movements as well. Same goes for approach, divided into APP and DEP during peaks. The really busy airports also have a separate frequency for clearance delivery, where departing flights get their enroute clearance, and then contact GND for push and start, and then taxi. Some even have a separate RAMP TWR for push and start, and then GND handles taxiways and less busy aprons (GA - Cargo etc).On multi RWY airports you might also find separate GND controllers, handing departures and arrivals respectively. Same goes for TWR.Kjell.
May 10, 200422 yr This topic is, though it's interesting, not *absolutly* related to PMDG-products, is it ;-) ? Stefan Bergert
