  1. Highlights of the presentation:- 777 should be coming this year- After that, a brand new version of 744 and 748 Can it get any better than this? :)
  2. Prepar3d might just be the future of computer flight simulation, so I strongly wish PMDG would at least seriously investigate/follow the options of porting the NGX and future products for it. Now that it seems that FLIGHT will be nothing more than a small flying game, where you only fly in Hawaii, Prepar3d seems like the way to go for the future.
  3. I bought it and tried it. It is nice and you can certainly create some nice lighting schemes with it. I was a bit disappointed though, as I thought it would also add better definition (terrain shadows) to the midday (noon) situations. The FSX terrain looses a lot of detail during the day with the flat shading.
  4. Would be great to see a new Queen built on the NGX technology.
  5. Hi Guys, I just read in several forums that for Sandy Bridge the recommended DRAM voltage would be 1.50. So I'm now running my RAM at 1333 with that voltage being scared of damaging the CPU again. However I have not found any official specification from Intel yet as to what is the highest recommended DRAM voltage for the 2600k. Btw, does your CPU run constantly on the overclocked frequency (in Glenn's case 4.6Ghz) or does it use the turbo mode (so it tunes down the frequency when not using much of the CPU)? For some reason when I overclock, even if the turbo mode is selected on, it will always run at the overclock even with little or no load to the CPU.
  6. It was 1.270, still in the yellow zone as per Asus BIOS. Have seen people have higher voltages than that. My RAM was 1600MHz and the voltage required by it is 1.65. Could this be too much?
  7. I was using my computer (specs below) normally, when suddenly the power turned off. I couldn't power it up anymore. Something was clearly wrong. I started probing the components one by one. Changed the power supply, which didn't change anything. Tried another graphic card, which also didn't change anything. Then I went to get a new motherboard, as it seemed that it wouldn't turn on if the CPU EATX power cable was connected. After changing the motherboard, the power turns on, but the "CPU" LED on the motherboard lights up. I checked my processor installation again and everything was good, so I guess my 2600K just suddenly broke up on me! Now my question is, why do you guys think it failed? Was it too much overclock (the temperatures were always low and cooling was adequate)? Or could it be just bad luck? And what do you guys think, will it go in for a warranty after I've overclocked it to 4500Mhz? Going to get a new one soon... I would appreciate any input on this.
  8. Hi, Just dropping by to say that for the first time in my FS history (a long one), I can 100% rely on the VNAV and LNAV functioning as they should, and that they will obey all restrictions. It's amazing how accurately you've managed to model it. I must admit I thought we wouldn't see this happen in FSX. You guys have exceeded all expectations! I must also say that the sound set is so true to life that, when combined with the amazing graphics and modeling of the systems/flight model, it really makes you feel like you're "there". It's just pure joy from startup to shutdown. Like having your own real 737! Thank you!
  9. For me switching to external view and back did not help.
  10. Lot's of people are also having this without using any resource heavy software in the background (including me), and my specs are similar to yours, so it should be more than enough resource wise.
  11. Got the freeze too today. I was setting up the FMC for the flight, and somewhere during selecting dep/arr procedures and going to the LEGS page, the displays froze. Actually I was still able to zoom in/out on the ND, but the mode change didn't do anything, and also selecting arpt or wpt etc. on the efis cp did not do anything. I could type in the FMC, but the text would not show on the scratchpad. I tried to save my flight and restart FSX, but the panel state did not save at all. However I did NOT experience any loss of textures or anything like that. Aside from NGX, I was running UT2, Active Sky Evolution (networked from another computer), EZdok camera and FSUIPC. OS is Win7 64bit and FSX version is SP2 (no acceleration). Computer specs below.
  12. You have to run EZdok config .exe again. I had the same issue and was wondering for quite a while why is the external view not working for me, until I realised what the problem was.
  13. The new key commands I created for the FO EFIS control panel are saving, but the ones I delete from the captain's are not, so they are always back to default after restarting. No problem with the terrain issue. If the performance is an issue, maybe in the future it could be possible to create and option to choose which pilot's ND displays the terrain?
  14. Hello to everyone enjoying this wonderful airplane! Don't know if anyone else has tried this, but I have tried to delete the keyboard commands from the captain EFIS control panel, because I want to assign it to the FO one. Everything works fine until restarting FSX. That's when I find that the captain EFIS key commands are back and conflict with the FOs. I don't have the manuals on this computer, but if anyone knows what I'm missing here, please let me know. Another thing I would like to know is if it's possible to have the terrain display on the first officers ND as well? Or is it not there in the real aircraft either? These are not too big of an issues to me, I just like flying from the FO side due to my controller setup and it would be nice to get around these couple of things.
  15. Ok thanks, that cleared it up to me. For some reason it has always been a bit unclear to me if the airliners need any rudder input at all in manual flight.
