I have Prepar3d and all I can say is WOW! FPS are greatly improved as with lighting and shaders. Can't wait for DX11 too.cool.pngPrepar3d can be purchased with a "developers license for 10 dollars a month"-- Please refrain from using "500 dollars is too expensive" as a scapegoat. Hoping PMDG will create a separate installer for P3D as many other developers are starting to port their products over. [FSDreamTeam, ORBX, Shade, REX and others]

Ships are cooler that you think.

How about $10 per month for the next 48 months = $480?

10 bucks a month. You also can buy a trial non-recurring 1 month subscription for 10 bucks. Also, rumor is that LM might be introducing a new price plan more friendly to simmers.

Since most of us here have spent between 400-2000 bucks on PC's I think we can spare 33 cents a day.... Also, just because we have to pay per month doesn't mean that my arguement should be completely discounted. -Where is FSX going? NOWHERE.(From the development POV. We are in dire need of a code refresh.)-P3D?--DX11 support coming soon, active team members on their forum responding to requests. They are making slow but great improvements to the core engine and rendering system.

I totally agree with Ben. I saw significant performance boosts and visual improvements. DX11 is expected soon as well and almost every scenery works with it. We certainly need more people to switch to P3D. Praying.gif It's MUCH,MUCH better than our old clunker of a sim we've got. Rolling%20Eyes.gif

I don't care. As a rule I don't "buy" subscription products, regardless of how good they are. It's a bottomless pit.

Why not vote "yes"? It is simply going to attract more customers [commercial], that could be a money making tool for the team and they could potentially recruit more members....

It's 10 bucks if you live in the US. Some of us don't

OK, Mr. Hair Splitter, it's the equivalent of $10 USD per month. Is that a better way of wording it?

Because that isn't how I feel. Those who want to vote for "Yes" can do so with their wallets.

I knew that would come up. I just didn't think it would be that quickly, though! laugh.png But seriously, that's apples and oranges really. Let me put it this way: I won't pay a subscription for products that I don't need for every day life and that give me a choice. As much fun as simming is, it's not that important to me. I've done subscriptions in the past (magazines etc.), but I won't do it anymore if I can help it. Before you know it you get too lazy to cancel a subscription, or you forget the deadline, even though you don't really want it anymore and you keep paying and paying. Been there, done that. It's too stressful to keep tabs on everything. I'm a firm believer in the fire-and-forget business model.

Because the arguments are so silly you can't but help deflating the hot air balloons. Now, if he had stopped at "I don't care" then great, not everything is for everyone. But then when the reasoning doesn't match up with the stance you've got to say something.
