VIDEO: PMDG 737NGX Takeoff from Gatwick

Hi all, We've just released another video: http://www.flyaoamedia.com/aoa/nicks-737ngx-takeoff/ It's just under 50 minutes long, features a quick preflight prior to a raw data takeoff from London Gatwick. I then talk a little about the Yaw Damper - a simple explanation but it shows off some of the finer points of PMDG's simulation nicely. Enjoy!

Nick, thanks for the explanation of the Yaw Damper. I never paid much attention to that round dial before, most likely because it wasn't modeled at all, until now!I love collecting all these little tidbits of info, I hope to become as much of an encyclopedia of NG knowledge as yourself.

Thank you. May it be possible for the training that you adjust the volume of you voice? The Plane background even on the ground is very loudly, makes me hard to understand you always.

I tried to find a decent equilibrium - obviously you want to be able to hear what I say, but I also wanted the aircraft sounds to stand out! PMDG balanced the engine sounds a little better in a recent beta, they sound fantastic. As for the training, the sounds will be very finely balanced, yes! That's vital.

Nice video so far. Since you would like to be corrected: at 13:29, it is the Costa 1 Romeo instead of Costa 1 right and at 16:10: I know you're not going to cruise but since EGKK - EHRD is eastbound should be odd tongue.png

Awww crap did I actually say that? Whoops....! By the way another thing I noticed in the video - I was talking about the BAC-111 operator that was using reduced thrust, it was indeed Laker Airways, but it was actually a UK carrier! Somehow I thought it was US, not sure why.

Hello Your angle of attack videos look BRILLIANT. The reason I chose to be involved with flight simulator is purely because I know in the future I will not be able to become an airline pilot due to my deafness therefore through flight simulator, i can get a feeling of what it may be like. Im watching these videos and im just seeing a moving picture, unfortunately I cannot hear any speach. So what I was wondering was if subtitles/captions were avaliable in any of these videos. I understand it would mean alot of extra work, especially time, which you havent got because the beautiful bird is coming out rather soon!! But maybe as a consideration for any future videos? I have a whole wide range of friend who also are deaf and love aviation, but always are disappointed when to see any tutorials have no captions. I'll look forward to any responses. Many thanksSam Book

Hey Nick, youre video is awesome. But I have a question. You were irretated by the Max TO Weight because it was 174,7. You were correct this is the MAX Taxi Weight. I looked it up in my manuals. But you fly the 800 in the video aren't you ? Because those weights are for the 900. The 800 has got 155,5 Max TO Weight. I'm confused about this :D

Kind regards from Germany :)
