17JUL14 - Updated PMDG 777-200LR/F and 300ER Release Information
first test flight was flawless. quick touch and go around ENGM (cargo ops ftw!!) Gonna go get the 300 as soon as i am happy with the 200 lol. I noticed the Terrain display does the sweeping update like the weather radar does, is it always been like that or did I just miss it?

17JUN14 - Scheduling and General Updates
Dovetail is all about the DLC. The core game has not really changed much at all since 2010 and they are making no attempt to develop it in the direction of "Simulation" Its a game and I don't see that changing anytime soon. I suppose at the end of the day its much like FSX. Without 3rd parties (call it DLC if you must) it would be long forgotton. FSX has A2A PMDG and many other quality 3rd parties. Train "simulator" has Just Trains (advance series engines) and a "few" quality scenery addons, but the core game has not changed. I really don't expect much from Dovetail but i've been wrong before.

Doors will not open or close?
happens to me also. Use GSX but I dont know if its that. I dont remeber it happening before but Im mostly flying the 737 untill the 777 update comes (far to many out of memory issues for me lol)

Estimated fuel use at the gate.
So im sat at the gate with the engines off and apu running, plugged in the fuel figure (from PFPX) into the CDU and all is well with approx 5 tons fuel at the destination. then I push back and start the engines and suddenly get "Insufficient Fuel" warning, and only 1.1 tons at destination. is it just me? Where did my 4 tons go? lol.

EZDOCK with PMDG T7...?
you could do what I do and have 1 view for the cruise with all the head movment options on (tuned them myself) and one for landing and take off with the option off, same view but only 1 button to change the view.

Wind Data aka 777 style? ;)
Topic says it all but are we likely to see the ability to import wind data from PFPX or active sky on the 737? Would be neat as i do more start/stop flying with the 737 than the longer flights of the 777.

PMDG 777-200LR Fuel planner!
I found PFPX pretty good, over 3 flights where within 500lbs of fuel diffrence at the end of the flight compared to the calculated estimate. so long as you put in the wind data (can be copy/pasted if you have activesky which is a blessing!) Again if you give the FMC all the data you have its pretty accurate also.

So what's happening to the rest of your planes in your hanger?
The 777, 737NGX and Cessna (A2A) are all ive flown in the last week lol. I condsider all 3 to be the pinicle of their particular field of flight simulation atm. We are so lucky to be flight simmers right now! Also been flying the MI-8 from DCS lol.

Where Is Your 777 Now?
Currently at ENGM after a test flight with PFPX from EGCC. Not even a short hop for a 777 =) Performance of the flight was almost flawless with only 180lb fuel diffrence after landing.

EZDok, recommend or not
cannot recommend it enough!. if you have Track IR or not. You can blind any view to any key, even joystick buttons. You can tune it endlessly or just use profiles others have created. Im using the profile that angle of attack provide, not sure if you can get this without register but there are many out there!

HELP - Reactivating CRZ mode in FMC
the FMC cannot go back once its started a Decent. Its just not standard operations. Normaly the only time you might decend well before the TOD, is for avoiding weather/other aircraft etc. Your flightplan should not have a lower alt built into it untill TOD.

Why is it necessary to enter winds aloft into the FMC?
how do the weather guys know the winds aloft anyway? i mean do they have some giant 40,000ft tall windsock or what? Always wanted to know hehe.

To get in the mood for the PMDG 777
just purchased the 777-200 Aircanada - Australia in HD video!!! Thinking also of getting the Blue Ray Polar DVD however im dont have a player yet hehe. the quality is so good from what ive seen.

NGX - FMC = ?
dont forget Pro Flight Emulator! Its alot less robotic sounding then RC4 and has a enhancement pack thats almost good enough to pass as Liveatc.net =). Unfortunatly its much more fiddley to set up and you have to know how to set up all the Altitudes for the flight otherwise ATC will keep stopping your climb at to low alt or ask you to decend much to early or late. Its also in 2 parts so you create a flight plan then open it and let the PFE adjust it so it can be used with the old Pro Flight and then open it a 3rd time to load it into PFE. I use them both depending on my mood. RC4 is much more user friendly. I dont think we will ever see RC5 though. the forum is all but dead and the author is nowhere to be seen =( FSX could really use a brand new FSX only ATC program that can handle you gate to gate.

GSX + NGX?
i have been using GSX for a while now with the NGX and could not live without it =) I use some 3rd party airports from aerosoft and UK2000 and have not had a bad pushback yet! im always lined up and ready for taxi. I love that they release so many updates that just make it better and better. New features added all the time and just a week or 2 ago we had a ton of new vehicles and some new paint jobs for diffrent airlines like West Jet and in the uk Easy Jet etc!. First class product.

who is going to take part in the cross pond with the ngx?
you dont need to make a booking to take part. you only need to book if you want a particular departure time. You might have to wait a while for them to get to you. I did it back in 2008 and just turned up with my Pmdg 747 and it was all fine.

Refuelling the new 777 and 747
yes please! i like the slow refuel of the MD-11. No idea why the NGX does not have this.Its a small thing yes but the aircraft suddenly lowering 2-6 inches when you load fuel is immersion breaking. It would be cool to watch the fuel flowing while you wait for the GSX ground crew to load your plane and Fs2crew to finnish its boarding.

Radar Contact 5. I dont think its ever going to happen though. The forum is all but dead and no sign of life anywhere =(Im currently using PFE as it sounds more like real ATC than any other program, its almost like listening to Liveatc.net with the enhancement sound pack anyway.Sadly this is also starting to look like abandonware. I would dearly love a brand new ATC program that combines all the good parts of Pro Flight Emulator and Radar contant into one package. Vatsim is all very well but thier is never a controler or anything when I fly =(
