March 28, 201214 yr Has the team decided which method it will utilize for refueling these aircraft? I know the NGX has the instant fueling, where we just type in how much we want, but I personally prefer the method that the MD-11 utilizes where it fuels the tanks over time rather than just popping it into the tanks.Which method do you all prefer? mitch bowman Mitch Brown Private Pilot | Aerospace Engineering Major

I don't know why it wasn't even an option in the NGX, its the only thing about the plane that disappointed me, as well as the lack of response from the team on why it wasn't included and whether it was planned or not.. Heres hoping its available on the new products and NGX SP2.
March 28, 201214 yr Well I use AES as I personally ''Base'' myself out of LHR with UK2000's Scenery. I guess the fueling option to not be so instantaneous would be cool! I normally Flight Plan for about 10 Minutes to go over the route and Weather and file for VATSIM. Once I load everything up I'm normally doing PreFlight from 20-40 Minutes depending how much data I have to enter into the FMC. - Luke Pabari
March 28, 201214 yr Yep, I also miss this addition.Would be also very nice for the NGX ... ? March 28, 201214 yr So we do not need wheels either as it is FLIGHT simulator, not a TAXI simulator...Refueling is part of aircraft operations so we would like to use real time refueling option in 777.Edited. March 28, 201214 yr I agree, real time fuelling is the icing on the cake.+1I do miss this in the NGX. Best regards, Fritz ESSONO
March 28, 201214 yr Pardon me, but why? It is unnecessary code. If you're going to do that, then why not go all the way and simulate invisible passengers boarding on airstairs that do not move and wait while they all take their imaginary seats? Matthew Bellette

March 28, 201214 yr Aircraft don't have gears, unlike a car.My ignore list was empty, its not anymore. Lj. Prodanovic
March 28, 201214 yr There are enough (many!) addons out there simulating exact this! And even it makes no sense to you, it seems there's a demand for it ...Yes, that I realise, it's my point. Why simulate it in the 777 or NGX or 747 2.0 when it can be provided by another developer for those who want it rather than forcing it upon all of us who do not want it. Surely the extra code has an impact on performance of the sim if it is not necessary for it to be included? Matthew Bellette
March 28, 201214 yr Matthew, I Normally respect your posts and opinions, but what is with the icy tone towards this feature and those in favor?Yes this is a flight simulator, but what consumers of PMDG products like to do is simulate aircraft operations. Refueling is a very important part of flight operations, as without it you could not go flying. The real-time feature on the MD-11 was probably my most admired feature of that craft, I was captivated and amazed by it the first time I used it. I do no notice it affecting system performance, and it does not use any animations as its all just behind the scenes code. (i believe, I do admit i am no specialist on FSX programming) As i said above, i was disappointed to find this feature not modeled in the NGX and that PMDG has, to my knowledge, not answered a single question on this topic when it has been evident it is a feature demanded by the market.. I hope it will be in the 777 and 747V2 and I also hope it will make it into future updates for the NGX as an option for those who wish to use it.Even if its not possible, it would be nice for PMDG to actually make a statement on why. Even if its something superficial such as "we found it wasnt possible in these/this product line"
March 28, 201214 yr Commercial Member I would definitely like to see this feature added. If not you can find a freeware program called Fuel loaded, it will pump the fuel at a realsitic rate. You can even run it over a network on another PC. Matthew - Get over it mate, it was a good feature on the MD11 and other users are simply requesting it be added to other products. If you don't like the feature then don't use it.. Rob Prest
