  1. Not having proper simulated flight controls in 2013 was unacceptable, yet we waited 1 year for fix at the well known, $100 priced, product. Some would argue that lack of 2d panels is unacceptable for $100 priced product, but I guess some developers are to blame and some others not...
  2. maybe, maybe not, depends what technique is used for texturing.
  3. No, you do not have to alter 3d model. You can just fill the windows with paint, and remove alpha channel, and you have perfectly fine cargo converted 747 like this: http://www.airplane-pictures.net/images/uploaded-images/2010-8/22/99385.jpg (god knows how much I'm resisting buying it right now, while I'm looking at the photo) Of course, you cannot add new cargo door, but it's not a big deal.
  4. Well, you can descend with great rate with full flaps if you need that, but I wouldn't do that in final approach.
  5. Ouch, I'm really sorry, didn't see the topic is in X-plane forum. Well, Carenado and Alabeo produces for X-plane, I think that would be the best you can find, although I do not like their aircraft for FSX.
  6. Try some of A2A or RealAir product. That should be the highest quality GA developers.
  7. What new website, I can see only the old one?
  8. You can bake every PCB if you suspect problem is with cold solder joint. If problem is something else, baking will probably not help.
  9. That's SAARU supplying attitude, air data and heading (manually set) when ADIRU fails (or is turned off). Absolutely normal behavior.
  10. It's worth of try. I baked few broken graphic cards (fortunately, not mine), sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Just do not forget to remove plastic cover and fan .
  11. That's from edetroit private collection, not on market.
  12. I'm not sure how I came up with this number it's about 19hpa difference, not 33.
  13. There is a thread already. Anyway, there is of course risk whenever you update firmware, but it's minimal. Even if you loose data, SSD should be operation device, not data storage device, so worst case would be reinstallation of windows and software. All 840EVO devices are affected, you can notice it if you pay attention.
  14. 500ft change would be about 33hpa difference. It's not possible to have such a change instantly. It's highly unlikely to have such a change even within few hours. For a reference, today in Europe, there is 44hpa difference, between cyclone and anticyclone, but it's spread over 1500nm with gradual change. It's not normal, and it's probably due wrong wx data imported in FSX
  15. That option is really useful to me when I want to test something, and repeat it multiple times. Restarting FSX after every test scenario is not an option. But, it's not about what I'm trying to accomplish, because the option exists and it's not instructed that I cannot use it in the way I described. Also, it works in that way in NGX, so why wouldn't in T7? I'll quote introduction manual: It's obvious that the panel state load function doesn't work as described.
  16. I started it few months ago, just being ignored. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/446699-live-change-of-panel-states-still-doesnt-work/ If that's a case, why the Panel state load is still present. It works well in NGX. Additionally, there are no any warnings/conditions about usage of this options. That option is really useful to me when I want to test something, and repeat it multiple times. Restarting FSX after every test scenario is not an option.
  17. Ok, here we go again with scenario: 1. CDU>PMDG Setup>Startup state is set to "777 Long" 2. Reset whole FSX 3. PMDG 777 is loaded again > "Initializing all systems" pops up in green tape and begin countdown 4. Countdown is finished and "777 Long" panel state is loaded successfully 5. CDU>PMDG Setup>Panel STATE LOAD is set to "777 Default" 6. "Initializing all systems" pops up in green tape and begin countdown 7. Countdown is finished and aircraft goes mad, unusable for flight. Can you test this and confirm if you experience the same? I'm referring to PMDG provided panel states dated with 18. July 2014.
  18. It doesn't work. All panel states are default, and updated per installation instructions RSR, or Ryan wrote at this forum. Simply, when I change to take off ready state and wait through countdown, engines are not spooled up, IDGs doesn't work, and aircraft degrade to battery power. Additionally, aircraft get corrupted, and cannot be used for flight.
  19. Why would we buy PMDG 737NGX when there already was ariane design and ifly at the market? Why would we buy A2A Cessna 172 when there already was an default cessna 172? Why will we buy new FSLabs A320 when there are Aerosoft and BBS airbuses at the market right now? I believe there is default Boeing 747 in FS2002, why would anyone bother to make a new one? Reason is simple, newer is usually better; takes in account newer hardware, new software, pushes the limit with new techniques of programing and 3d modeling, more data about aircraft is available... Just like we do not running 2008. PC configurations, we do not run 2008. simulations.
  20. offtopic, but it works nicely at my PC, never experienced OOM.
  21. But next time, I want different panel state. I agree, it's not a big deal, aircraft is flyable, this is just a tiny problem, but extremely annoying when you want to test something and need to reset situation several times. I understand there were more important issues to resolve with previous service pack versions, but we are already at SP1c, and I'm not sure we will get next version of SP1. If that's a case, live panel state load will be broken for good.
  22. By present trend, pmdg 747 should be released at august or September 2015. Of course, that's just a trend, and doesn't mean anything, but it's good estimate. I'm not really interested in 747, as T7 is enough to keep me busy, but I think ifly does a good job. Their product will be superior in every aspect compared to 8 years old pmdg model.
  23. Not just that two states, almost any combination will brake something in 777. Of course I can load correct panel state, but that would require few minutes to load sim, then set up default panel state, and then restart the sim with few minutes more of waiting. For that time, I can start it up without changing panel states. Additionally, that feature works nicely in NGX, so one would expect the same in T7. After all, if they cannot fix it, why the option is available in setup menu?
  24. Not a joke at all. Try to load cold and dark state, wait for aircraft to configure, and then load default (take off ready) panel state. I opened a topic after SP1 has been released: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/446699-live-change-of-panel-states-still-doesnt-work/
  25. I already have 10 years old PC, why would I want a new one? Cmon, PMDGs 747 is history, just like lvlD 767 - great birds, but they served their purpose and sent to graveyard.
