EZDOCK with PMDG T7...?

Featured Replies

I'm considering finally picking up EZDock mostly for my GA aircraft. Not interested in the camera views as much as the head shake/ movement feature which looks incredible.

Have there been any reported issues with this program and the T7?

Thanks!

Chris Camp

EZdok works perfectly well with the 777. I believe it does this with nearly every aircraft out there ^_^ would never fly without it anymore.

Is it recommended to turn off all camera movement in VC?

If so I thought the realistic head movement was the major feature of this program?

Thanks!

Not sure what you mean - recommended by whom?

It is up to you if you want head movement / shake on.  All those are customizable, including the frequency and severity of the shaking.

I use EZDok with the NGX and T7 and haven't had any issues.

Do you recommend a config file for the T7 or does the program do a decent job of setting up your initial cockpit cameras?

I switch off DHM and random movement out of preference, but I don't think it causes any other problems. I find the moving eyepoint means clicking accurately on clickspots is much harder. This applies to any FSX plane, not just the 777X.

EZCA doesn't do anything for you regarding setting up cameras, but it's so easy to do that it's not an issue. You can always export a camera set you like from another sim and use them as a baseline. How you arrange the cameras is very much personal preference. What one person might recommend might be awful for someone else.

I have DHM on in VC with TrackIR in all my aircraft via OpusFSX and yes it is challenging to click buttons but that is, to me, part of the immersion factor. In a storm it is down right hilarious but fun.

you could do what I do and have 1 view for the cruise with all the head movment options on (tuned them myself) and one for landing and take off with the option off, same view but only 1 button to change the view.

I used to fly with DHM on only slightly, but turned it off because I'm just not sure what settings are realistic.  I also don't like how (I do this anyway) you're constantly moving back to your viewpoint in the captain's chair after turning corners etc.  I wish there was a way to easily go back to the PMDG manual's recommended viewpoint in the cockpit, or import that main view in to an EZCA camera.  Other than that I can't ever see myself going back to regular FSX views, specifically for the amazing angles you can get on the ground outside of the plane.  I find myself being an hour late for pushback sometimes because I'm walking around the plane, or helping the GSX guy cater the plane.

Ground work for me is the best part of FSX.

I have a question regarding 777 PFD (didn't wanna start a new topic). Despite having highest possible graphics turned on, it's PFD Screens textures are  aways flickering. specially the middle panel. even the default FSX planes have better PFD screens quality.

Am I missing something ?

Yes, but in the real thing you have physical controls to touch and panels to brace your hand against. That would help you locate and keep control of an MCP knob you want to adjust for example. DHM makes things much too difficult compared to real world.

Your head would, of course, be moving around in real life but your brain acts like an image stabiliser so you don't notice it much unless it's severe turbulence or vibration. So the wobbly visual image from DHM is also unrealistic in my opinion.
