May 13, 200422 yr In answer to a techincal question I asked before, someone suggested I supply a screen shot to highlight the problem I'm having. Please could someone tell me what software I need, and exactly how to create screenshots of FS?ThanksToni.
May 13, 200422 yr Very simple.Enter your flight sim and get to your "problem". The moment you want screenshot made, press "PrintScreen" key on the keyboard. Exit FS. Do NOT press Ctrl+C or copy anything in the meantime. Now, open some graphical program. Anything that can edit photos (ACDSee won't do) will do. Go into edit menu and press "Paste". Image will paste, save, make sure it's smaller than 125k, that you resize it to 800x600 pixels and upload.Hope this helps.
May 13, 200422 yr even better... search for UOSU.exe in google. This small application makes it possible to select a destination directory for you screenshots and every time you press PrtScreen it automatically saves you screenshot in that directory, no need to switch to an external graphics application paste and save. It even saves in JPG format and you may choose which compression/quality ratio to use. :) Bye, Luca Luca Benelli PMDG & WX Radar? read here
May 13, 200422 yr On the matter of UOSU. I've been searching for this utility about an hour to find it... It's impossible to DL it today. Dunno why...Btw. that program sometimes missed some screenshots, probably a bug. I was screenshooting in one flight, and after some point, it just stopped writing to the disk. Weird. But if you want it, I'll be happy to mail it to you. Send me an email over avsim.com forum.
May 13, 200422 yr KostaThanks for the help.Attached (hopefully) is a screeshot showing the problem I decsribed in the other thread ('FMC map not aligned...').Toni.
May 13, 200422 yr Nope, the screenshot didn't post properly. Check that your filesize is less than 125k, when you upload, be sure to check the JPEG BEFORE upload the pic, and for your convenience, check the "Check this box if you wish to embed attachment URL in the message text box". Upload file, close windows, post your post.
May 13, 200422 yr No luck - I get the message saying the picture file's been successfully uploaded, (it even gives me the AVSIM file details), I click on JPEG and EMBED URL... etc, click on submit, but the attachment doesn't show up in the box......Toni.
May 13, 200422 yr Sorry Word Not Allowed - I give up!The 'attached' AVSIM URL is: http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/75799.jpgI really don't know what I'm doing wrong...Toni.
May 13, 200422 yr Yeah well, the pic appeared now. All you had to do was as I told you: copy past the link. I see your problem.First question is I guess, what Navdata do you have installed, if any and what SIDs/STARs? I suggest you do the following. Deinstall ALL PMDG, see that you also delete all folder corresponding to PMDG, then, reinstall all. Then download newest AIRAC from www.navdata.at and then if you please, SIDs and STARs from navdata. You may also install updated SID/STAR package from pmdg website...And finally, check if this is happening on other airports. Which airport is this?
May 13, 200422 yr Hi KostaWe might have a clue here....I've reinstalled using the latest AIRAC (0405) and PMDG Procedures for SIDS/STARS (0404), but still have the same problem. The airport used in the screenshot example was London Stansted, by Gary Summons. The same 'problem' appears at some other airports by Gary.I phoned Gary and his suggestion was that because his airports are accurately positioned (as per real life) and some of Microsoft's aren't (in some cases 'out' by as much as 50 metres), it's possible that the AIRAC database may be 'out' too (assuming it's compiled from the 'original' Microsoft data), which means that the magenta line will start from the wrong position. That said, Gary did admit that this is only a suggestion as he doesn't own the PMDG product....Does this make sense and if so, could it be root of the display problem?Toni.
May 13, 200422 yr Well, what you could try is installing a custom afcad which has everything aligned - visual runway with starting positions and everything. Not saying that this might fix it, but I've tested Gary's Heathrow (I didn't buy it because of the extremely poor framerates), and it was disaligned from the original.Another thing you could try is, if you have afcad installed for that particular airport (look for the file that starts off with AF2_...), remove it, and see that you maybe get positioned wrong, but see if then runways align. It might purely be a problem of AFCAD.Nothing else comes into my mind... I know for instance that Simflyers EDDF is slightly misaligned, but only by heading, and also no idea how to fix that.
