May 16, 200422 yr Sometimes when i tune the nav radios to the ILS freq. of the arrival airport, the ils won't come alive. I'm sure i tuned both radio's on the right freq's and made them active. I had this problem on Runway 21 of ESGG (ILS 108.50).Anyone ideas?Cheers,Ian Udingahttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/800driver.jpg
August 16, 200421 yr Did anyone have a reply to this topic? I have experienced the same problem but only after I updated the NAVDATA + SID/STARS, I first download SID/STAR from the PMDG suggested place and then the navdata.at ZIP file. I checked that all files are in the right spot. After the update I couldn't get any glide slope or directional guidance for any airport I flew to so far (ESSA, EKCH, EDDT). Lucky enough there always was good visibility....CheersHarald
August 16, 200421 yr Well all you have to do is place the aircraft on the particular rwy and tune the radios and see if there is a issue.Best Wishes,[h4]Randy J. August 16, 200421 yr HiI just did as Randy proposed, and the ILS works for me at ESGG and ESSA. Just to let you know. http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/checkcapt.jpg
August 16, 200421 yr Hi Randy, thanks for the quick reply! The question is not that much if the problem is there or not, it is there I ensure you. I visited at least one of the airports before the update and there the ILS worked, now it doesn't. So the question is: What can possibly have gone wrong during the updates, or maybe it is not even connected with the update? What could cause the ILS to be missing but the rest of the aircraft behave as before (I remember one aircraft missing the ILS but working normal when avionics were switched off, solution there: go to other panel with avionics switch, turn on, go back, doesn't seem to work here).CheersHarald
August 16, 200421 yr Problem solved:I basically posted the answer to the question already before...Going to another aircraft, switching avionics on going back to PMDG Boeing will solve the problem. NOTE: Just having the avionics switch assigned to a keyboard button and using that one without changing to a standard aircraft will not do the trick (that is what I tried before and what made me conclude that the avionics button is not the problem).Sorry for the trouble and thanks everyone for their quick responses!!CheersHarlad
August 16, 200421 yr Thanks Harlad, Threads such as these are never a bother! It just gives a a clear problem solver in the future ;-)Best Wishes,[h4]Randy J.
