July 14, 200421 yr after setting up the fmc and getting the v1,v2 vr settings i then configure the aircraft for take off set toga and when i rotate at say 143 as calculated by the fmc, only the nose of the aircraft rises slightly but am unable to get off the ground even at speeds of 190 eventually run out of runway. anyone any ideas. thanks in advance jim mcpherson thank you,Jim MSI A520M-A PRO,AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D 8 Core, 16 Threads 4.1Ghz,Arctic Freezer 36 ARGB Black Edition CPU Cooler,MSI VENTUS 2X Nvidia RTX 4070 12GB Graphics Card,Corsair 32GB Vengeance LPX (2x16GB) 3200Mhz DDR4 Memory,Gigabyte UD750GM 750W Gold Rated Modular PSU,Kingston NV3 2TB NVME M.2 GEN 4 SSD.
July 14, 200421 yr Hi JimWhat sort of trim setting do you have? What sort of weight do you have ... and is the CG within limits? At rotation, do you still have full thrust or has a lower thrust been commanded?I assume your joystick is properly calibrated in pitch?Cheers
July 14, 200421 yr You`re not saying anything about config warning, so I guess the trim is in the green area, and you`ve got flaps set, correct?Okay, check your aircraft load manager, see if you`ve got more cargo in the forward hold than in the rear? You have no influence on the distribution of the passengers, but if you`ve put more cargo in the forward hold than the rear, you`re nose heavy. I seem to remember a post here some time ago stating that the rear hold should be loaded more than the forward if they are both loaded at all.How do you rotate? You say nose rises only slightly. On the "rotate" call pull back on the yoke until the nose is approx 10 degrees up. (Note, on the -900 tailstrike is around 9 degrees, if I remember correctly). Once you`ve got positive rate, continue rotation to 15 degrees.Try to trim a little more up before starting your takeoff run, set the indicator to somewhere between 4 and 6. I tend to use 5 and a bit, and it works OK for me. Normally i take off with flaps 5, if I`m light I use flaps 1 on the -6 and -7.Cheers,Kjell.
July 14, 200421 yr Trim of at least 5 for anything approaching a decent load. Don't hesitate to use a setting of 6 for heavier.Hope this helps,
July 15, 200421 yr Author i used flaps 5 and trim 5.5 also calibrated my flightyoke but i did not usethe load manager for the 700 i just used the one in fs9. is this the problem and should i use the pmdg manager. thanks jim mcpherson thank you,Jim MSI A520M-A PRO,AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D 8 Core, 16 Threads 4.1Ghz,Arctic Freezer 36 ARGB Black Edition CPU Cooler,MSI VENTUS 2X Nvidia RTX 4070 12GB Graphics Card,Corsair 32GB Vengeance LPX (2x16GB) 3200Mhz DDR4 Memory,Gigabyte UD750GM 750W Gold Rated Modular PSU,Kingston NV3 2TB NVME M.2 GEN 4 SSD.
July 15, 200421 yr Hi Jim,Hmmm... that all sounds OK so I am not sure what teh snag is. Could you tell me what runway you are using.. what the temperature is, are u using an Assumed Temp and have you selected a derate on teh engines. Also what altitude are you at? It may be best if we have a voice chat. I use Teamspeak to give online tutorials so you might like to install it even if you don't have a mic you can type your question to me in MSN and I can reply with a decent explantaion that does wear the flesh of the end of my finger :-xxrotflmaoAll the Best,
July 15, 200421 yr Author hi brad the runway was the default in fs9, i did not put a temp in the fmc i was following the advanced tutorial by timothy metzinger {lesson 4} a engine derate was selected with climb 2 i also set a flight today with 100% fuel in the wing tanks and 50% in centre tank flaps 5 trim in green area i also used fdc and followed the callouts i was able to take off, i think i maybe set the fmc up incorrectly in the tutorial. if i keep having this problem i will get back to you on msn. i have only had the pmdg 737ng for a couple of weeks and am really impressed with it i have a lot to learn and am willing to take the time to do so. i like to thank you and everyone on this forum for taking the time to reply to my queries. thanks jim mcpherson thank you,Jim MSI A520M-A PRO,AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D 8 Core, 16 Threads 4.1Ghz,Arctic Freezer 36 ARGB Black Edition CPU Cooler,MSI VENTUS 2X Nvidia RTX 4070 12GB Graphics Card,Corsair 32GB Vengeance LPX (2x16GB) 3200Mhz DDR4 Memory,Gigabyte UD750GM 750W Gold Rated Modular PSU,Kingston NV3 2TB NVME M.2 GEN 4 SSD.
