July 21, 200421 yr So hello everyone in PMDG world,I have a question for you all. Tonight i was doing a flight from KSEA-KORD on the 737-700. I had everything perfect, LNAV and VNAV set the entire flight. The autopilot was flying the plane and i was about 150 nm out from KORD when the engines failed. I don't have random failures on in fs. The warning flashed "fuel", and all of a sudden the engines turned off. Then i glided down to KORD and all the systems turned off, and i wasn't educated enough how to turn them back on because i was panicking about making it to ORD. So i tried to lower the gear and didn't work so i crashed pretty much. My questions is is that my fault, like i didn't follow the checklists which i did, or the 737 just has automatic faliures. Anywho, u will prlly need more info. So anything will help. Thanks
July 21, 200421 yr Umm yeah how much fuel did you actually have at the time? DId you load the fuel and how did you load it? What tanks etc?Best Wishes,[h4]Randy J. July 21, 200421 yr Well, you can always hit the pause key until you figure things out. It seems to me that you either ran into a bug in the program or you simply ran out of fuel. It is hard to run out of fuel given the fact that the FMC will display an "insufficient fuel" message when you do your preflight setup and fuel on board does not meet your reserve requirement. The fuel planner utility is really handy and quick -- I strongly suggest using it, as it will board the fuel calculated for your flight without having to load fuel through the cumbersome FS9 menus. If the problem was some sort of bug, an inflight restart of both engines is relatively simple -- check to see that the fuel supply to the engines is on, that the fuel pumps are on and turn the engine start selector to "FLT", one engine at a time. You should check the documentation for the full procedure on an inflight restart. If you can't get the engines restarted, you can divert to a nearby airport and try to start the APU during descent for power to the electrical and hydraulic systems.
July 21, 200421 yr Did you shut off the centre tank fuel boost pumps before the tank was empty?JohnBoeing 727/737 & Lockheed C-130/L-100 Mechanichttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg
