July 21, 200421 yr Hello mates,GPSis there a GPS system ? Something similar as the default fs one. Not so much for navigation (i use FMC) but for viewing a geographic map of the area flying above.StairsI own the latest edition of B700-600 NG. I follow the instructions of the manual (on how to extract/retract using The Ctrl+F10, F11) keys but it doesn't work. Any idea ?UpgradeI am a bit confused on how to upgrade from B600/700 to B800/900 version. At first is that possible and if it is so, is it going to be a free upgrade download ? orThe package of B800/900 is something completely different that someone has to buy ?Thanx in advanced, nikolas vegas
July 21, 200421 yr GPSis there a GPS system ? Something similar as the default fs one. Not so much for navigation (i use FMC) but for viewing a geographic map of the area flying above.Nope, there is no moving map feature on the NG in reality, so there's none simulated. The only thing similar is using the ND(navigation display) in conjunction with the FMC.I own the latest edition of B700-600 NG. I follow the instructions of the manual (on how to extract/retract using The Ctrl+F10, F11) keys but it doesn't work. Any idea ?I've mapped this key so I havent done this in a while. From what I remember the Stairs is extended using the Concorde Nose extent/retract key. Goto FS->OPTIONS->CONTROLS->ASSIGNMENTS and scroll down, change this key to whatever you desire and it should work.UpgradeI am a bit confused on how to upgrade from B600/700 to B800/900 version. At first is that possible and if it is so, is it going to be a free upgrade download ? orThe package of B800/900 is something completely different that someone has to buy ?The upgrade provides:-the 2 new models(800/900)-upgraded and more realistic cockpit graphics- more FPS friendly virtual cockpits(a patch which is soon to be released will upgrade you 600/700 models with the more FPS friendly VC)- a lot more functionality within the FMC-The ability to change the cockpit layout and glass displays to whatever airline configuration you desire or a mixture of these displays to suit your needs-Flight simulations first fully functional TCAS II implementation. This thing has to be seen to be believed. An RA will actually not only provide oral alerts but also displays them on the PFD. Search for some posts with the word TCAS and you'll get customer feedback on it. It's incredible! There's a lot more to the upgrade so I'd highly recommend buying it!John http://homepage.eircom.net/~eamonnmca/images/logo_ba.JPGwww.bavirtual.co.uk Senior Captain Simflight.com Staff Reviewer

July 21, 200421 yr The ND can display Airports,Fixes,VOR'S and NDB's aswell as TCAS traffic and your Route. This can be used togethere with maps to obtain a fairly accurate representation of where the aircraft is and where it will be along it's route.John http://homepage.eircom.net/~eamonnmca/images/logo_ba.JPGwww.bavirtual.co.uk Senior Captain Simflight.com Staff Reviewer

July 22, 200421 yr Although the ND does not have a terrian map, the real aircraft does have a nice weather map on the ND ;-) that I HOPE to see in the 744 and if X-mas is nice this year maybe on the NG down the road but that may be wishful thinking on my part!Best Wishes,[h4]Randy J.
