July 24, 200421 yr How can I let RC and PMDG 737NG work together? In other words, how can I load or import a flightplan developed by the FMC into RC?Juul Tango,Hasselt, Belgium.
July 24, 200421 yr Hi Juul,I use FSBuilds to make my flight plans. When the plan is completed, FSBuild will build both a .pln (FS9), and .rte (PMDG FMC). Radar Contact of course will use the .pln file for the route and the .rte version is the exact same plan, but in the PMDG format. Works very well. I did hear about some utility that was to convert .pln into .rte, but not the other way around as far as I know, could be wrong. You can get further information about FSBuild2, and excellent flight planning tool here: http://www.fsbuild.com/Hope this helpsBob JohnsonDenver
July 24, 200421 yr Juul,I use FS Navigator and it does the same as fsbuild, its just another option for you, I don't know which is better! You'll find it with a trial period on http://www.fsnavigator.com/Regards,Ahmed
July 24, 200421 yr Generally speaking, I highly recommend FSBuild, not because of the UI since it takes a little bit to get used to (although it works), but because of the quality of the FP and the "known" routes database with thousands of pre-made flight plans. FSBuild knows about stepped climb/descent.I also have FSNavigator, and it's a good product, but I mostly use it as a GPS/moving map for the A/C that do not have FMCs, and not as a flight planning tool. FSNav is very good as an in-session moving map and it will also feed headings/alts to the AP, and it's a great replacement for the FS GPS system and does essentially LNAV and VNAV for you.I create all FPs in FSBuild. FSBuild 2.2 also supports AS2004 (note, 2.2 is still in beta I think). Version 1.x is freeware. You can also export FPs from FSBuild into just about any current add-on format.Doesn't mean a whole lot for the PMDG 737 because of the fantastic FMC PMDG simulated, so once a flight plan is loaded, the on-board navigation computer does the rest. But, for the "other" planes not so blessed, FSNav is a good tool for navigation, but it's not on par with FSBuild for flight planning.Hope this helps.
July 25, 200421 yr Author Thanks all for the replies; I'm already working with FSBuild and with the option to convert the plans with apl-extension, directly importable into Radar Contact. My question was a little bit different. If I would introduce manually a route into the FMC (without using any flightplanner at all), is there a possibility starting from this point, to have Radar Contact import the route? Thanks on beforehand,Juul Tango,Hasselt, Belgium.
