August 1, 200421 yr After installing the recently released upgrade and model update (in that order) I seem to have lost some sounds. I can't hear any engine sounds, nor can I hear the trim air sounds or standby altimeter clicking in spot, 2D, and VC views. I can hear things like switches moving and seatbelt signs. This happens in both the 700 and 800 models. It also affected the Aeroworx B200, but I haven't tried any default planes.I checked the volume setting on the PMDG menu (normal - full right), and I checked the volume settings in FS9 itself which is normal and has remained unchanged.Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!
August 2, 200421 yr Commercial Member Jeff-Hmm.... This one takes the prize as the oddest thing we've seen reported in awhile. :-)There is nothing about the installer that would be expected to affect your sound profile. (I write the installers- so i'm very familiar with causal effects related to their activities...)One thing to take a look at, however: Check the PMDG Options menu and see if you have the box "Allow sounds to play in VC and External Views" box checked? Also (and i do NOT mean to insult your intelligence here...) check that you don't have the sound selected off in FS? Some of the sounds that you report to be missing are handled by the default MSFS sound engine- so they should not simply vanish....Keep us posted- we'l figure it out and add a bit to the general fund of knowledge here... August 2, 200421 yr Thanks Robert,You certainly are not insulting my intelligence. I actually didn't check to make sure that sounds are turned on because I can hear SOME sounds. Either way, I will check when I get home. I did check that the "Allow sounds to play in VC and External Views" IS checked and volume levels in FS9 are normal. I'll let you know what I come up with. Thanks!
