Autoland and Rudder / Rudder Trim

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,I just did a full ILS autoland like many I have done successfully, dual channel all the way, disconnect A/T at 40ft.But this time I had a strange one wheeled landing, massive veering, I had to disconnect the A/P and fight the aircraft to stay along the centreline.Once I had time I noticed that the rudder was infact well offset from the centre position, which appears to be the cause of the veering.Currently I have the auto rudder activated in FS2004, so I was suprised that the rudder didnt centre itself on landing, and I have no way of controlling the rudder with my existing joystick. So how did the rudder find itself in this position and not reset?!I have now set a key command to reset rudder position, and I will pay attention to the rudder angle on the Lower EICAS more often!Armen L Cholakianwww.veryquiet.com
