August 28, 200421 yr Hi,I would like to know what kind of lights are on/off duringtaxi/take off/landing/cruise. The PMDG 737NG hast this switches in the Overheadpanel(from left to the right):landing lights -I suppose this should be ON during take off and landing at day and night; OFF above FL100taxi lights: ON during taxi at night (during day?)logo: ? (I don't know)position: ?strobe: ?anti collision: ?wing: ?Thank you very much for your herlp in advance!Constantin
August 28, 200421 yr Hello Constantin,On stand: (night time only)Position lights onLogo lights onBefore start up and during all flight whilst engines running, until engines shutdown again: (day and night)Anti Collision lightsDuring taxi: (day and night)Taxi light onLining up: (day and night)Landing light onRunway Turnoff light onStrobe lights onAfter departure, when performing after takeoff checks: (day and night)Landing lights offRunway Turnoff lights offTaxi light offlogo light (if already on) offThat will leave you configured in the lighting department until you begin your approach and all you do is switch them on in that order:Approach: (night only)Logo lights Final App: (day and night)Landing lights onRunway turnoff lights onTaxi lights on (not sure about this one, i normally do. The taxi light is on the front nose gear, so it can't do any harm to have it on!)Vacating Runway: (day and night)Landing lights offRunway turnoff lights offTaxi light (if not already) onStrobes offTurning onto stand: (day and night)Taxi light offAfter engines shutdown: (day and night)Anti collision light off------------------------------------------------------Position and logo lights can stay on at all times when on the stand during night time. Also Position lights (i think) are on all the time during daytime (in the realworld!) anyway. If position lights are not on during daytime, but it is bad weather, it is good practice to have them on. Not too sure about wing lights. They light up the leading edge of the wing (to check for icing?). These are probably turned on/off at the same time as logo lights. Hope this helps and I havent missed anything.Ross Ross Marsh Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 3.2GHz 4GB RAM NVIDIA GeForce GTX580 Windows Vista Home Premium 64x
August 28, 200421 yr Hi Ross, thank you very much for your quick response. If I not missunderstand you, strobes and position lights are always (night and day) ON during flight/airborne. I'm right?Constantin
August 29, 200421 yr Hi again,The beacon (anti collision light) is on most of the time (always when engines running), and the strobes only when airbourne/on runway. Not too sure about the positioning lights during daytime, I'm pretty sure they are kept on. And i think there are probably different SOP for the landing lights for different airlines/countries. I'll double check and get back to you, but I think its very flexible.
