Time corrected for known wind - Flying rawdata
Or look at your head/tail wind component on the outbound leg and add/subtract to a minute. So in the above example the aircraft would have a 10kt headwind component on the outbound leg.

The big surprise
I told you, hit the evac button and the slides deploy The evac button is the only thing that hasn't been showed in any video yet.

Inflatable slides when you hit the evac button!

Sorry, completely mis-read your post. My bad!

And how does it do that exactly...? Would it make it more realistic if PMDG made the flaps audible from the flight deck? Regards

Yes and the crew rest is not immediately behind the flight deck. However, on the aircraft I fly, there is a work space for the SCCM immediately behind the flight deck which includes interphone station and indicator lights. I believe this is also where the chimes sound from, or in the general area. However, it's still inaudible from the flight deck with the door shut. You're right in that it could be audible in a 777(F) and not having flown these, I am unable to comment. However, it was in fact not your video that drew me to this issue, but a video from another tester flying the 772 LR. Regards

I'm bringing this up again because in your latest video Kyle, you refer to this at the point the seatbelts signs switch off. in your original post above, you expressed your opinion based not on facts, but what you think it might be like in the real aircraft. In the video, you then use the PMDG 777 to confirm your original opinion, as though it is factual. However, I will say again that in my experience of sitting on real 777 flight decks when the cabin chimes are being switched on and off, you cannot hear it. Even before this came up, I once purposefully took off my headset before takeoff and listened to see if I could head the pre-takeoff cabin chimes. Straining my head towards the flight deck door, I couldn't hear anything. In reality the fans and air conditioning noises etc are just too loud. And this was on the ground, not in the air with the added noise of wind. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not looking for an argument. I'm not even that bothered if it doesn't even change for the final release. However I would still like to bring it to the attention of PMDG and see what they want to offer on the subject, and I would also like to hear if any RW 777 pilots hear have any differing opinions on the subject. I stand to be corrected. Regards

Beta Video 2 - Requests, and More Tips and Tricks
Just out of interest, where did you get this information from? It contradicts what I've read in the Boeing 777 FCOM where it says for an auto start, you first select the engine start selector to START, then position the respective fuel control switch to RUN. Regards

Jakob you are right, every airline is different. However I'm talking about 'Lo-Hi' chimes which are slightly different to 'Hi-Lo' but I think they are peculiar to this particular airline. They are only used for one purpose and that is to warn of imminent departure, on the 777 and 744. Anyway, I don't expect PMDG to model this. Kyle, not sure which variant you are talking about, but not every 777s are configured with crew rest, and all the ones I've seen/ worked on which do, it is located opposite D1L and above the cabin. You are right that it is a requirement to have the chimes and electronic signs audible/visible there for the crew. However, trust me when I say that in my experience you cannot hear the chimes from the flight deck, not at the level that PMDG have modelled. When you are on the stand with the flight deck door open, then yes, maybe. But not when the door is closed. Regards

The airline I know have a 'Takeoff' button they push on the interphone page of the central CDU. This initiates 3 'Lo-Hi' chimes when takeoff is imminent. As we're on the subject, I've noticed in a couple of the videos that the seatbelt signs and cabin chimes are quite audible, whereas I don't think you can hear them at all on the flight deck in real life, not on the 777 anyway. Maybe Armen or someone from PMDG can chime in on this.....

777 first beta impressions
Sorry to go off-topic, but is anyone else having problems accessing smart cockpit.com on an iPad? I used to get it fine, now whenever I try to download something I just get a page of funny text appear. I've tried deleting cookies etc but no joy. Works fine from desktop though...l

You have 52K of thrust? I have 220,000 pounds...
How can you tell from the pic that the cabin wasn't secure? Once the 'Cabin Secure' has been sent using 6* on the inter phone system from the cabin, the message will appear on the EICAS for about 30-60 seconds. Then it disappears. It's a good idea when you receive it to tick it off on the checklist so you don't forget.

13JUL13 - Nifty little feature in the 777...
This is great news. Just the other day I was thinking about mentioning a request for exactly this, but since my last one failed I didn't bother.... I can't believe it's been over a year since I wrote that (how time flies!). I know at the time Ryan said you would probably leave this to 3rd party developers, but in light of this recent news, have you changed your mind ? Regards Boarding is not normally completed through 4L if attached to air bridge, so catering are free to use it depending on local procedures and airline. Regards

Make sure if you have rudder pedals etc, the brakes are set as sensitive as they will go. You can have brakes applied a minute amount without the brakes label appearing, so you would never know.

777 Realism
I wouldn't get your hopes up. When I suggested a similar idea for the 'Cabin Secure' EICAS message before take-off, Ryan said it wouldn't happen, which is a shame as it doesn't have to be anything fancy, just a random timer.

British Airways 77L Livery for initial release
Clever marketing by PMDG. I imagine the majority of people will be wanting to fly the 200ER and 300ER as these make up the majority of the 777s out there. And I'm assuming it will be mandatory to purchase the 200LR as a base package then the 200ER and 300ER on top of that. I'm suprised they didn't release the BBJ before the NGX -800/-700!

UPDATED: PMDG Releases Statement Regarding EULAs for P3D---->Avsim article
Clouds that look like clouds but aren't actually clouds perhaps?! Maybe with P3D we'll actually be able to fly in IMC rather than just hitting the side of a cloud and it disappearing?! Why couldnt Microsoft do what Flight Unlimited did all those years ago? And if anyone has played Birds Of Prey, that is a good example of how it should be done!

NGX Fantastic - (Not perfect)
Andrea and Mike. Thanks for the information, that was the type of answer I was looking for! ;-) Ryan, thanks for getting back to me again. Yes I would appreciate it if you guys would look into this for an update. Wycliffe, not sure the point of your post or even if you've read my original one. No, you can't have. I thought I made clear with my very first line that I wasn't complaining! Jake, not sure how you can liken my original post to rivet counting. Have you actually read it, or are you just jumping on Wycliffe's band wagon? Thanks again to the constructive posters.

NGX Fantastic - (Not perfect)
I thought the point of having a forum was to ask the team questions? I also read somewhere that Ryan tries to read every thread!

Any word from the PMDG regarding the original post? Thanks

A few things I'd like to see
Hi Ryan, thanks for the reply. I understand what you are saying with crew interactions and I don't really want to drag it up again, however, I'm not asking for all crew/flight crew interactions to be modelled. The 'CABIN SECURE' is obviously a major pre take-off / pre landing requirement and therefore is written into most airline checklists. And the beauty with modelling it on the 777 and 744 V2 is that you don't have to mess around getting all fancy recording voices or conversations for it. All that's required is an EICAS message to appear at an appropriate time, for example 3 mins after the 'Before takeoff/approach checklist' has been completed. Not only that, but you have gone to the effort before on previous products to record and fully model a complete tug/flight crew pushback sound set, which is surely more time consuming and complex. I really do think that this simple addition to the coding will add yet another level of realism not yet seen with other PMDG products at no extra cost to you, the developers. Once again, thanks for taking the time to reply and I hope you and the guys will re-consider. Regards
