  2. Hello everyone, Its been a while since Iv'e posted a topic on AVSIM and this time I'm a little confused on the 'Minimums' callout upon landing. I already know that the Minimums is the lowest altitude you can get before touching down on the runway (correct me if I'm wrong). However, I was watching a video and the guy in it was landing and while doing so, said that he forgot to set the minimums and began to do that. I never knew you had to set minimums. So the question is: How do I know my minimums and how to set them (on the 737 like PMDG)? Please answer clearly so I don't get a headache while reading it Thanks for your answer, JWMuller
  3. So i did a landing comparison of the FSL320 vs. the FF320. A sidestick camera is included in both videos. Conditions are relatively the same during both landings. Variable winds /w light turbulence. I made more adjustments than needed to show the differences in response and feel. Enjoy P.S. I don't intend starting a war over which is better. 4. Hi guys, as title says. Which is your technique? I have no problem when try to land manually after passed 1000' AGL, disconnect A/P and A/T and land safely enough. But if I want to practice manually all the approach from IAF to FAF I have a lot of difficulties to keep the aircraft on correct glide path. I try to maintain the G/S adjusting the throttle and pitch manually, but most of the times I am to high on final and with an incorrect pitch configuration. The aircrat upon on final regains altitude and I have to make a go-around. How do you perform your manual landing with this great aircraft? Thanks in advance, Ric
  5. Hi sir, I just want to ask a question regarding on my experiences with the ILS for your 777. Im having some problems whenever i go off track of the STAR so that i can take a shorter route but every time i do this, the ILS frequency disappears on my PFD. If i follow the STAR the ILS frequency is still on my PFD and it follows the LOC. One other thing, if i go off track of the STAR and try to line up on the ILS, every time i press the LOC, i can see a HDG on the bottom of LOC. I just want to know on how to do an ILS approach if i go of track of the STAR. I hope to hear from you, sir. Thanks, Francis
  6. Name: PMDG 777 Autoland Category: FS Instructional Videos Date Added: 03 November 2016 - 07:16 AM Submitter: davidfein Short Description: Shows the details of how autoland works so you can duplicate solid landings yourself Learning to land the PMDG 777 was a challenge so I recorded a number of views of the PMDG 777 doing an autoland. Seeing the details (speed, decent rate, engine kill, flare details, etc) makes it much easier to learn to land because you have very specific things to model and practice. View Video
  7. Hey everyone, I downloaded Project Opensky's Korean Air 747-8i and completed a flight to Seoul/Incheon Intl. and as I often do, after landing and taxing onto the runway exit I watched the landing in instant replay from the external locked spot view mode, it was only then that I noticed a bizarre smoke trail from underneath the tail-end of the fuselage and also that my auto-spoilers had failed to deploy, because the landing went fine (although I did notice that it seemed to take a while to slow down to a suitable taxi velocity), I did not suspect anything of real concern whilst I was in virtual cockpit view. Can anyone shed any light on what may be causing the smoke trail and failure of spoilers to deploy? I've have uploaded the replay to YouTube (below) for you to watch so you can see what I'm talking about. Thank you in advance for your assistance
  8. Good day! I recently bought the NGX 737 and I love it! I have 2 questions regarding it. 1 - Auto Pilot. I Came from using the stock 737 in FSX so I dont know what the LNAV AND VNAV do...I see everyone uses it in ILS landings but Im using to using VLOC and APP. Somotimes I click LNAV AND VNAV and i dont get a green light saying its been activated...so, how do I use auto pilot for ILS landings (NOT AUTO LAND) in the NGX 737? On a side note...where is the NAV/GPS switch so i can pick which one to use? 2 - FMC.....All i know is to set fuel, ground connections and a few other things like putting in the air port but i dont know the waypoint part since I never have any....I need to know how to use the FMC so it can tell me when to put my flaps and speed and all that.... Please send a link of a video or anything useful that teaches this. Its almost impossible to have a real flight without it. PLEASE give me a good starter flight plan for this so I can learn and last thing, SIDS, I dont even know where to find mine or what it is. Thank you In advance Mirakledba
  9. Wondering if anyone can help? I've followed the guidance in this video and I find the plane lands correctly about 70% of the time. The other occasions I end up crashing as the autopilot has brought me down too steep. What can I do to resolve this and what am I doing wrong on those occasions as from what I can gather I'm following the same procedures. Thanks in advance.

  12. Hi everyone, I have been using P3D 4.1 for quite some time now, and I feel quite confident in terms of my flying ability etc... however there is one thing I'd like to know about regarding Active Runways. For example, Active Sky Next tells you in the "Conditions" tab for a specific airport what the "Runways in use" are there. Basically, does this refer to LANDINGS or TAKEOFFS? or possibly both? I've been under the assumption that it means both takeoff and landing. For example at EGKK (Gatwick), it says runways 26L and 26R are currently in use, so does this mean both can be used for either takeoff or landing depending on the wind? I hope I've made sense! --Yorkie

  14. Hello, When I Land in the PMDG 737NGX I activate the reversers (which take ages to come out) and then at 70 kts i turn off the reversers and use the toe brakes but they dont work and i over run the runway! Can Anyone Please Help Me? Kind Regards David
  15. Hello AVSIM members, Just a quick question on the Glideslope please. Basically, the glideslope means the descent path that leads you to the runway. Is that correct? But I am confused, How do I stick to the glideslope and not glide away or get too low? Do I use the ILS? How do I stay at the exact -fpm and altitude and heading? Do I have to use the ILS for this? Thanks, JWMuller

  17. I had an idea for something not quite too serious after making the following landing. I was running video record tests so wasnt concerned about flying skills in this video. Did NOT expect this result though...Do you have any funny landings on video to share? Only rule is, like mine, crash detection has to be ON. Otherwise things would get silly.

  19. Would someone, please, post a turorial video on how to properly land a Rollus Cargo A400M. I watched several videos, unfortunately I was unable to make out the detailed procedures from these videos. Although I have tried many times I was unable to acheive a proper landing. Thank You.
