    Editing the gauge files PMDG

    Hello fellow simmers! Recently i've decided that i would like to be able to configure weights, capacities etc. in the pmdg aircrafts. Of course, im not talking about working the FMC, but rather programming the .dll gauge files and change the settings in there (it has come to my attention, that the settings im looking for is placed in the Gauge files). Unfortunately, i've experienced some problems finding these settings as i go through the .dll in a program called Visual Studio.🤔 My primary objective is to change the ammount of fuel an aircraft can carry! :) Does anybody have any knowledge that might help?😃
  2. I've created a flight plan from VHHH to ZGGG, and I've setup the fmc using the data as shown in the screenshot. However, why in the LEGS page, the speed isn't activated and in the PROG page, the econ page is set to 215? I didn't enter this number. FMC settings As you see in the LEGS, waypoint PORPA will be using 215/6000 instead of 250/6000

    Screen Flashing with PMDG 77

    I'm running Windows 10, PMDG 777, P3D 4.1.7.22841 and the entire screen flashes only when I'm using the PMDG 777 plane. If I use any of my other aircraft, the screen does not flash. It only flashes on an external view (p3d outside / locked spot) or chaseplane external camera AND internal views as well. This is a new issue, I've been using the PMDG / P3D 4 since January and it has worked fine. Any ideas?   6. Got a rather odd one here for y'all.... So, the other day I had a flight going in the 772LR. I'm at cruise alt, everything is going fine. I fire up World of Warships (and YES I've reached out to them about this, they said "We suggest to communicate with the support dedicated to the game you are having issues with"), and I'm mid-game when all of a sudden I hear "Ten Thousand Feet", which I should NOT be hearing. I switch over (I'd already gotten sunk at that point), and sure enough I'm in a high-speed, steep dive. LONG story short, for some reason the 747 and 777 end up doing a roller-coaster flight path, which shouldn't be happening as WoWs (PER their tech support), "is designed not to conflict with other applications"; yet, it's messing with the 747, 777, as well as smartCARS (Microsoft .net framework error). Mouse yoke is NOT on, so I know that's not causing it. I'm NOT using My stick & throttle outside FSX, so I know that ain't the cause. I'm honestly at a loss as this should not be happening. I'm able to stop the roller-coastering if I exit the game. REALLY odd thing is..it does it not only IF I'm in battle, but also IF I'm just sitting there in port (for those who have never played, this is "port" http://prntscr.com/j5h93y and yes, I love My battleships, as you will see...for those familiar with the Navy). I'm honestly at a loss here. 99% of My flights are long-haul (15+ hrs) - usually KDFW - YSSY & back (744ER) or KBOS - YBTL & back (772LR) , and the occasional short trip to KSEA from KBOS to put the 772LR into maintenance (every 100 flight hrs). Thoughts? Ideas? (and spare Me the "don't play the game during your flights" responses as that ain't remotely helpful). i have to admit....this has Me baffled...
  7. Is there a way to move those screens to another monitor (monitors)? I don't find clarity of text very good in virtual cockpit. It's rather small and I would like to use dedicated monitors for PFD/PND and EFIS/Checklists

    777 flaps are amazing!

    I guess I never really paid attention before, but I was recently a passenger on a 777-300 from Singapore to London. While preparing for landing, I looked out of the window and the wow-factor of seeing flaps 30 really hit me. This is a work of art from a beautiful airplane. The PMDG model comes very close, but from the passenger viewpoint,it's amazing. Of course now, I'll have to take the 777 from PMDG up again for a spin.

Over the past few weeks (and months), there have been numerous threads and posts regarding calculating performance figures in the PMDG 777-200LR/F, especially takeoff figures including assumed temperatures and V-Speeds. In those threads that I participated in, I mentioned the use of numerous manuals, such as the FCOM and FPPM to gain some figures for take-off performance. This will be a guide on how to do so, particularly for the 777-300ER fitted with GE90-115B’s.I would like to stress that while this is for the 300ER, assuming you have the appropriate manuals for the 200LR, the same method can be used. While I tried to use the FCOM as much as possible, some things are just not available in Volume 1 and therefore I was forced to use the FPPM. First of all, before I start, I would like to make a note that is not how a real crew would calculate/obtain their takeoff performance. They would either use performance manuals created by the airline, which are airport and runway specific, or OPT software on the Boeing fitted EFB or on a small ‘e-laptop’ (10” screen netbook etc.). You will see throughout the guide that a lot of rounding/conserving occurs, therefore there would be some discrepancies compared to if you used OPT software. Some acronyms used throughout this guide are; FPPM – Flight Planning and Performance Manual FCOM – Flight Crew Operating Manual (and for the purposes of this guide, solely Volume 1) OPT – Onboard Performance Tool ATM – Assumed Temperature Method V Speeds – V1, VR, V2 RW – Runway TORA – Take Off Runway Available ETOW – Estimated Take Off Weight I would also like to add, that this is a very primitive way of gaining figures from the FPPM/FCOM. Really, if I was flying a real T7, and only had access to the FCOM or FPPM, and none of the tools I mentioned above, I would go through 5 different charts/tables which contain numerous considerations (Runway Slope, Obstacles, Tire Limits, Brake Energy Limits etc.). For the purpose of this exercise, I will only be using the figures from the Takeoff Field Limit chart and tables. For the purposes on a flight on FSX, this suffices fine IMO. In real life, the performance manuals provided by the airline take into consideration all these things, and therefore the time taken to come up with an assumed temperature and v-speed is considerably quicker than doing so through the FCOM and FPPM. Now, lets get started! First of all, the scenario that I will be using.Today, we are flying a 777-300ER, fitted with GE90-115B’s, out of Sydney (YSSY), with a planned departure of Runway 34L. RW34L, from intersection A6, has a TORA of 3900m (3962m to be exact). For weather purposes, we will assume there is a direct 10kt headwind (so METAR is reporting 335/10), and the runway condition is dry. Our company SOP’s call for a FLAP15 departure with a D-TO1 de-rate setting. The pressure altitude at Sydney is rounded to SLP (0ft). Our ETOW today is 312450 KG’s(312.4T). Now to calculate our figures; Step 1: The first step to complete is to get our compensated TOW which will take into account the 10% decrease in available thrust due to our selection of a D-TO1 de-rate setting. To do that, we go the FPPM. We are working backwards with this table, as with most tables/graphs in the manual. Now in the table, as you can see there is no exact match for our TOW (312.4t). With all these charts, you are taught to be conservative. So for our purposes, we are going to use the figures for a TOW of 314.7t. So looking at the table above, you can see that with a TO1 de-rate setting, with a TOW of 312.4t (conserved up to 314.7t for planning purposes), the TOW that we should plan our figures for is now an amended 340t. This is due to the fact that we will have 10% less thrust available on the take-off roll. N.B: If the airline dictates that D-TO2 is also available, there are similar charts in the FPPM which provide figures for 25% thrust decrease availability. Step 2: It’s now time to find our corrected runway length to take into considering wind component and slope. Now as FSX’s runways aren’t sloped, I won’t be doing any calculations related to the slope. However, I will do so for wind component. The headwind component on RW34L is 10kts. The TORA from A6 sourced from ERSA is 3900m. We now can go to the FCOM and pull out the ‘Field Corrections’ chart. We are once again going to be conservative and choose a shorter runway length then we actually have. In this case I have chosen 3800m. Going horizontally across from my runway length and vertically down from my headwind component, you can see that we arrive at a figure of 3950m. Due to the headwind component, we have virtually obtained another 150m of available takeoff runway. Step 3: It’s now time to find our assumed temperature. For that we have 2 sources. We can either use nice, pretty and easy tables in the FCOM, or a nice graph that we can plot on from the FPPM. For the purposes of this tutorial, I will be using the tables from the FCOM (as most people don’t have access to the FPPM). Once again, we start at our corrected runway length (which has been conserved back down to 3800m from 3950m), work horizontally across till we find our TOW (which has been conserved up to 341.6t from 340t), and go horizontally up to find our max OAT. Therefore today, our assumed temperature, with a D-TO1 rating will be 42°C. Step 4: Time to get those important V-Speeds! Luckily, in the FPPM, we have a table to find our V-Speeds for D-TO1 take-off. Let’s pull out the V-Speed charts, for a dry runway with a D-TO1 rating. Now, since this chart is taking into considering the 10% thrust reduction, we DO NOT use our amended TOW which was calculated in Step 1. With our ETOW being 312.4t, I have rounded it up to 320t. Going horizontally across from 320t, and vertically down from Flaps 15, we arrive at our V-Speeds. V1 = 156, VR = 170 ad V2= 176. However, since we have a 10kt headwind, we must account for that such wind. Therefore we must now pull out the ‘Wind V1 Adjustments’ table. Once again, going horizontally across from 320t, and vertically down from our headwind component of 10kt, a V1 correction of 1kt needs to be accounted for (Yeah, I know, not much!). Therefore our takeoff performance looks something like this; --------------------------------------------- YSSY 34L @ A6, 3960m TORA D-T01, 42C N1: 96.8% V1: 157 VR: 170 V2: 176 ---------------------------------------------- Step 6: Enter all the relevant data into the FMC. De-rate and assumed temperature is done through the THRUST LIM page, and the V-Speeds done through the TAKEOFF REF page. I hope this guide helps some of you when the T7 comes out, and helps you get some rough performance figures until either TOPCAT or another 3rd party developer (Aurasim etc.) is able to produce a 777 takeoff performance tool.   10. Hellow! Cesar Wilkins here! I just got the venerable 777 from PDMG a few hours ago. Now im trying to do my maiden flight. I cant use the Zoomed left outboard DU, no plus sign over it, so cant make it bigger... And the others DUs works but cant be moved around!!!. I dont have a 32inch or so monitor so to see the altitud is almost imposible unless i zoom too close the VC. Sorry for any bad english. Hope is just a CFG line that needs to be corrected!. Any suggestions???

    PMDG 777 Cabin Textures -- Night?

    Friends, I'm having a hard time trying to locate the night cabin textures for the PMDG 777. I'm working on custom cabin textures for a couple of repaints I am doing. I found the daytime textures and edited those accordingly, but the night-time textures are flying over my head. Does anyone know what they're named and where I can find them? I'm hoping to change the color of the cabin lighting and making sure the aesthetics in the cabin at night match those during the day. Thanks in adance!

  13. Afternoon everyone. I would like to ask the beta testers of the 777 SP1 if they have noticed any performance improvements compared to the current release of the 777.   14. Hi, on my last two flights i´ve had an issue. The FMC freezes, but this ONLY happens during the cruize phase. It freezes showing the legs page, and no matter how many times i press a button on the FMC, it doesn´t respond. Thanks in advance for your help!

    Hi guys! As I begin to roll, the parking breaks activate. I press the period key, nothing happens, it just resets itself. I looked in the FMC, the chocks are NOT on. When I go into VC view and touch the parking break switch, it goes up and down with out a problem...except it dosen't disengage the brakes. Please help!

    UK2000 And GSX

    Folks, a quick (few) question(s) here: I know that the safedocks at UK2000 Heathrow do not show "777", because of the viewpoint, or something, which is a bit of a pain when you mostly fly the PMDG 777, so: -If I were to buy GSX, Would the UK2000 safedocks be replaced with those of GSX, and show "777" -If not, is there any edit I can do without changing the view within the 777, to make "777" show up? -is there anyway of making the UK2000 safedock systems brighter, so I can see them from further out? Hi, Ryan, Robert and everyone, It seems to me that it is not necessary to delete panel states saved using the original SP1, as the PMDG-supplied panel states have not changed (by date and time modified). I have quite a few SP1 saved flights w/ panel states, including several setups for approach practice. I am sure there are others who have saved flights from SP1 as well.They still seem to work OK, with only the appearance of equipment cooling warning messages in the EICAS and on the overhead panel switch. These can be fixed by cycling the switch off and on. Thanks, Mike

  21. This is a question for those who use PFPX and the PMDG planes. Recently I switched to PFPX for my flight planing, and I really like it. Coupled with TopCat, it really plans the flight using not just the routing but everything else in between. And then it exports the plan to my PMDG aircraft. But right now, I'm a bit confused about how to use this application with the 737/777. If I run PFPX first, and use it to populate the pax, cargo and fuel, then I have to go into the FMS and manually change the data there. OR - should I launch FSX and the aircraft, create the load figures (fuel, pax, etc.) and then go to PFPX and enter that data manually? PFPX doesn't differentiate classes or types of pax, PMDG does. So I'm asking if anyone up here has a preference with this stuff. Would it be better to build my load on PMDG and then carry it over to PFPX, or create the figures in PFPX (i.e. random) and then manually enter them in PMDG? I'm going to post this to the PFPX forum, also.

    PMDG T7 not following route

    Hi, I'm trying out the PMDG 777 I bought a few months ago, and I'm encountering a few problems with the route and TOGA, - ON takeoff, The T7 is not following the route and keeps going in circles or else in zig-zags, I followed many tutorials, to no avail. - On takeoff, when I press TOGA, it doesn't accelerate and I have to abort until it works. Hope to hear from someone soon, Jake Meilak
