  1. Hello, So I was doing a flight plan and had been on auto pilot for a good 20 minutes all going fine and all of a sudden my aircraft banking right at 45 degrees, so I took over leveled off the aircraft and turned autopilot back on and it's then banked hard left while dropping out of the sky. Then leveled it out again myself turned auto pilot back on and was fine for the rest of the duration. Just wondering why it did that? Also another point if someone could help, why does my aircraft decend so slowly when Im coming up to the approach phase of flight. Thank you very much in advance.
  2. So is there any plans for a 737 update after this? LCD lighting, New engine ignition switches, Split Scimitar winglets, etc? IF SO GREAT!!! I CANT WAIT!!! If not what about going into a regional jet like the EMB175/190 or the ERJ145, or the CRJ200/700/900? I know the 747-8i is in production for the expansion pack obviously, but the 737 can use an update.
  3. Attention PMDG 747 Drivers - Your Official PMDG Endorsed Flight Crew expansion for the 747 is available! We're pleased to announce that FS2Crew for the PMDG 747 QOTS II has been released and is ready for download! Click here to visit the product page! Like before, we're offering 5 Euros off to anyone who has ever owned a FS2Crew product before. Coupon Code is: 747 So what's it all about? Like with the other FS2Crew's, this product was designed in close consultation with a pilot who is current on type. In this case, he's 747-400 FO, and we think he knows his stuff We're not just making up procedures off the top of our heads; everything you see in the program is based off a real 747 pilot's experience. That said, our goal is to make your PMDG 747 experience more immersive and more realistic by allowing you to fly the 747-400 from the vantage point of the Captain and Pilot Flying using realistic airline procedures, callouts and checklists, and we think we've achieved that goal Indeed, the PMDG 747 is a great plane, but with FS2Crew for the PMDG 747, you're not flying your PMDG 747 like it's a little Cessna 152 -which would be realistic, or legal. You're flying it as part of a team, in a multi crew environment, the same way the real 747 is flown. In terms of expectations, the vast majority of you probably already own FS2Crew NGX Reboot. NGX Reboot was one of our most successful products ever! People loved it. It sold very well. If you liked NGX Reboot, then you'll love FS2Crew for the PMDG 747 QOTS II! Indeed, the learning curve for you will be low since you'll already be familiar with the interface system. In terms of SOP Sets, we're offering two this time. SOP Set 1 is based on Boeing SOPs. We found while researching the 747 that the majority of the world's airlines are going back to the stock Boeing SOPs - at least for their 747 fleets. However, we've included a large number of customization options so you custom configure the SOP to match your specific needs. SOP 2 is based on a British airline, who we can't name. It's different from the generic Boeing SOP, and it gives you a chance to try something different. Passenger and Freighter models are fully supported. Some of you noticed that we charged a bit more for the 747 than older versions of FS2Crew. This is because we're supporting FSX and P3D out of the box, including the 64 bit version of P3D. There's a new version of P3D every year, and we'll releasing free updates every year to match them well into the foreseeable future. We could easily be looking at 10 plus years of updates so long as Lockheed Martin keeps supporting P3D. The product also ships with two female pilots, one German, one American. And one male FO, who is British. A lot of you asked for female FOs, and we delivered! You now have some female companionship while you're over the ocean somewhere Enough talking from me! Go download the 747, spread the word that FS2Crew for the 747 has been released to all your friends and fellow simmers (we appreciate the support!), and fly safe! And thank you for supporting indie Flight Sim developers like FS2Crew! We couldn't ask for a more awesome user base!
  4. Hey everyone, I downloaded Project Opensky's Korean Air 747-8i and completed a flight to Seoul/Incheon Intl. and as I often do, after landing and taxing onto the runway exit I watched the landing in instant replay from the external locked spot view mode, it was only then that I noticed a bizarre smoke trail from underneath the tail-end of the fuselage and also that my auto-spoilers had failed to deploy, because the landing went fine (although I did notice that it seemed to take a while to slow down to a suitable taxi velocity), I did not suspect anything of real concern whilst I was in virtual cockpit view. Can anyone shed any light on what may be causing the smoke trail and failure of spoilers to deploy? I've have uploaded the replay to YouTube (below) for you to watch so you can see what I'm talking about. Thank you in advance for your assistance
  5. two things for the 747 QOTS2, #1 the device that switches views, non-existent its also not in the views/instrument panels. #2 PDMG menu is also non-existent from the addon menu. Ops manual talks about it, but i can't find them in the menus.
  6. hello everyone Joseph Remer here. a strange issue has started to occur to me. i select my 747, any livery and my sim crashes to desktop. i do not understand why this keeps happening. i have removed the whole thing from my pc and reinstalled and it still happens
  7. Hello. I know there are several threads concerning VAS usage. I also know PMDG rather staunchly asserts there is no VAS leakage with the 747. However, I thought I would start a new thread and toss in what I have discovered. I tried four times to fly from KABQ to LEST. All four attempts failed in an OOM at about three hours into the flight. I finally took the 777 and successfully completed the 10-hour flight. I got to thinking about the major differences between the 74 and the 77 and wondering why, despite PMDG's assertions to the contrary, the 74 seemed to be leaking memory. The major difference is the addition of ground service vehicles for the 74. Therefore, I determined to fly back to KABQ from LEST in the 74 but not request any PMDG ground vehicles. The only ground service I called for was ground power. This GPU is not drug into position by any vehicle. I did, however, use all the GSX ground services available. I successfully completed this 10-hour flight with no problems, though the 74 still seems to burn more memory than the 77. I obtained this information from the flight log files generated by FSUIPC. I did not change any of my FSX configuration settings between these flights, so I deem them negligible. What is important is that the FSX environment was the same for all three flights. I humbly submit the foregoing information for your, the forum's, evaluation. (I would have attached the three log files, but there does not seem to be a way to do this.) Eugene N. Kilmer
  8. Does anyone know if there is an expansion pack for the FS9 PMDG 747-400. Looking for the 747-400F add on. I see some new paints on Precisionmanuals but not the Base pack of the 747-400F. Let me know.
  9. Hi all, I am using for most of my airplanes in FS9 AES for ground equipment. But with the Posky 747 Pax/Combi airplanes it comes with it's own service equipement. Is there a way to turn this off? Thanks for your help! Guy
  10. Hi everyone, I have both the 400 and the 8 versions of the 747 and on both I get this bug: when at cruise altitude, the trim remains "up" (as for example when I set it for takeoff) and in order to fly straight and level the autopilot has to push the yoke all the way down... Is it only on my computer!? I uninstalled and installed again the whole FSX 3 times since when I have the 747 and I've always had this issue... I have pictures about this but I'm new on this forum and I don't know how to post them (if i even can). Anyway, any ideas on this issue?
  11. I currently own all of the PMDG products (except the upcoming DC9) and I have an age old question concerning the MD-11. The rumor mill still has the MD-11 as a proverbial logic bomb for PMDG products and I want to include it in my hanger... but if it still causes errors within FSX to the point I have to wipe ALL my entire FSX drive, I rather leave it where it is - as a executable zip file from PMDG. Has PMDG addressed this issue long ago already and the latest updates will not have any effect on the sim, or is it still what many are saying what it is? I have tried running the MD-11 a while back after I had bought the 747-8i and I had to repair the entire drive... thankfully almost all my software were re-downloadable, I had to pay for another extended plan from PMDG to get my aircraft from them again.
  12. Firstly, thank you RSR for giving us another taste of the upcoming 747 v2. Having recently gotten the opportunity to sit in a real world 747-400 cockpit I am really looking forward (patiently) for its release! When I was looking at the newest previews I noticed that the 744 has the RR engines. Obviously so far with the 737 and current 777 models are limited to one engine choice by nature, while the 747 has three choices my question is if the 747-400 v2 will have GE and PW engines along with the shown RR ones? The reason I ask is because IMHO PMDG would by nature would not want to just offer a cosmetic change but model the sound and performance differences properly, which may or may not (depending on the coding) be an easy task. While I'm posting this question I might as well ask about the -F, -LCF, -D, -M, -ER, and -BCF, I'm not holding my breath on the last 4 but what the heck. Thanks!
  13. Hi I have the pmdg 737ngx for fsx and everything is running smoothly on windows 8.1. Now, I'm really like the ''queen of the skies 747'' by pmdg and I'm planning on getting it soon. Have anyone got any personal experience with it on Windows 8.1 Cheers Marcus Grunnesjö
  14. I only painted a few iFly passenger 747s (most of which @P_7878 showcased in previous posts...thank you!) However... sadly, iFly's marketing methodology leaves many simmers on previous platforms oblivious to all the great planes they have for FSX and even FS2004!!! I'd love to paint for all platforms, but just painting for one is hard enough....LoL. I moved to P3D long ago...and have really painted exclusively in that sim ever since. Not even sure how many even know that iFly came out with a 747BCF model for P3d a while back and asked me to help paint a "few" liveries....hehe.....well...."few" is a relative term as you know...and when the smoke cleared...here are the "few" freighters I painted for their excellent model: When discussing how many default paints to include with the package, iFly mentioned that 3-4 should be enough and the painting community would pick up more after release. Between Brian Thibodeaux, Maxime Konareff and William Musculus, we managed to paint 20 of them before the beta team was finished testing and the final version was ready for release. 🙂 I hope one day everyone can make the hop to P3d (or maybe you're all waiting for FS2020....). either way...you have a lot of Freighters at your disposal if that ever happens. 😉
  15. Got a rather odd one here for y'all.... So, the other day I had a flight going in the 772LR. I'm at cruise alt, everything is going fine. I fire up World of Warships (and YES I've reached out to them about this, they said "We suggest to communicate with the support dedicated to the game you are having issues with"), and I'm mid-game when all of a sudden I hear "Ten Thousand Feet", which I should NOT be hearing. I switch over (I'd already gotten sunk at that point), and sure enough I'm in a high-speed, steep dive. LONG story short, for some reason the 747 and 777 end up doing a roller-coaster flight path, which shouldn't be happening as WoWs (PER their tech support), "is designed not to conflict with other applications"; yet, it's messing with the 747, 777, as well as smartCARS (Microsoft .net framework error). Mouse yoke is NOT on, so I know that's not causing it. I'm NOT using My stick & throttle outside FSX, so I know that ain't the cause. I'm honestly at a loss as this should not be happening. I'm able to stop the roller-coastering if I exit the game. REALLY odd thing is..it does it not only IF I'm in battle, but also IF I'm just sitting there in port (for those who have never played, this is "port" http://prntscr.com/j5h93y and yes, I love My battleships, as you will see...for those familiar with the Navy). I'm honestly at a loss here. 99% of My flights are long-haul (15+ hrs) - usually KDFW - YSSY & back (744ER) or KBOS - YBTL & back (772LR) , and the occasional short trip to KSEA from KBOS to put the 772LR into maintenance (every 100 flight hrs). Thoughts? Ideas? (and spare Me the "don't play the game during your flights" responses as that ain't remotely helpful). i have to admit....this has Me baffled...
  16. Ever since P3D 4.2 and the 747 hotfix, I have noticed that there are no longer light relections on the aircraft at night for example: -strobe light reflection on outer engine pylon, winglets and tail cone -glow of nav lights on outer part of wing and winglets However, these things appear fine on my NGX and 777. Is it just me or can someone confirm this? Is it worth re-installing the 747
  17. Hello guys. This is my first post here, even though I've been lurking for quite a while now... This is a post to announce a new livery for the 747-400ER Qotsll V3: South African Airways "new" paint. After wanting to fly through Africa, Europe and Middle East I looked for a nice SAA livery, but all I could find was some squishy models with inaccurate color palette and logo distortions (not saying mine is perfect). I then decided to give it a try and here it is. I chose the words (from a real SAA 747 by the way) SHOSHOLOZA for this livery and here is what it means (just copy pasted from Wikipedia): "Shosholoza" is a Fanagalo song that was sung by the mixed tribes of miners mining gold in South Africa. It is a mix of Zulu and Ndebele words, and can have various other South African languages thrown in depending on the singers. It was sung by all-male African workers that were working in the South African mines in a call and response style. The song is so popular in South African culture that it is often referred to as South Africa's second national anthem. Anyway, here is the link for the PTP file: https://nofile.io/f/07MKZOcOjxO/PMDG+747-400ER+V3+South+African+Airways+(Shosholoza)+2018.ptp Please let me know if you find any mistakes or faults regarding the file or the painting. I am open to receive new requests as well. Enjoy. :)
  18. I was curious if anyone has these aircraft flying around in their sims. I've been hunting a few of these down and no site seems to have a download link anywhere. I found screenshots of a few of them but the links have long since passed away. There are some Cathay 747's and one JAL Cargo 747 I'm looking for. The Cathay's are in a package of sorts that include a 747-200, -300, and -400 that work on the AI Aardvark jets. The JAL jet is a standalone - I think. Please PM me here if any of you all have these planes. I'll send you an email address from there. I do thank you for any help you can give. B)
  19. Hello, seeing that the 777 is very close to release (as close as counting in days rather than weeks might be prudent), I shall start asking the questions on the 747v2. First off. For the 747-400, Honeywell offers an FMS upgrade to the "NGFMS", which is purpotedly very close to what the 747-8 has. What is the plan for the PMDG 747-400 to have included? Will it be the old one, the new one, or possibly, both, to be chosen(on initial, or planner later)? Second: The 747v2 line is told to include both the 747-400 variant and the 747-8 variant (in passenger and freighter hulls). Which one is planned to come earlier? Obviously the 747-400 is more widespread with airlines, and has simpler avionics, but it has three engine options. Meanwhile the 747-8 is less common, but so is the 77L, which comes first in the 777 lineup. The 8 also has only one engine option, bringing similar benefit to the development as the 77L compared to 77E, 772 and 773. The advanced avionics of the 8 would argue against it, but many differences (the ECL system perhaps the most notable) have been modelled for the 777 already.
  20. When I make an ILS landing, the rudder on my PMDG 747 becomes stuck in a random direction. I have checked the rudder trim and it is set to zero. Screenshots are attached. I just use my mouse as the yoke and no extra hardware that might need calibration so I doubt that's the issue. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
