  1. [4 JANUARY 2019] A software update for FS2Crew: PMDG 747-400 QOTS II is now available! This is a free update. The update is built into the main installer only. There is no stand-alone update installer. You do not need to uninstall the current version. To obtain the update, please login to your FS2Crew account (it's on the top of the screen) and click "COMPLETED ORDERS", then re-download and re-install the package again. Change Log: Version 1.3. Fixes and Changes: The 8 model is now supported for free, but with some limitations: 747-8 USERS READ THIS PART CAREFULLY!!! 1. FS2Crew 747 QOTS II only supports the 8 model in P3D V4, not FSX. The reason is due to a panel window limit in FSX. Again, this is all the more reason to move to P3D V4. FSX is old and out-of-date. FSX is yesterday's news. It's time to move forward to P3D 64 bits. It's the future. Do NOT try manually copying the FS2Crew entries into the 8 model's panel.cfg in FSX or you'll mess up the plane! 2. Due to SDK, legal, and technical limits, the FS2Crew FO cannot interface with the Electronic Checklist System (ECL), so you'll be using the same paper checklists you used in the 400. 3. How to add FS2Crew to the 8 mode in P3D V4: You must run the FS2Crew PMDG 747 QOTS II Config manager again and re-enable FS2Crew. This is necessary to add the FS2Crew entries to the 8 model's panel.cfg file. Anti-Ice callouts fixed. Other minor bug fixes. Version 1.2. Fixes and Changes: During the Pre-Flight procedure, if you ask the FO to turn on the APU when the FO prompts you, the FO will set the APU start switch to ON after 3 seconds instead of roughly 12 seconds. Descent procedure: Baro Inches/ HPA issue resolved. Touch and Go's fixed. Remember: The FMC must be completed in full for it to work. FS2Crew still needs the speeds computed in the FMC. Cabin PA's fixed. During the pre-flight flow, the FO will now set the EIU knob to AUTO on his side. This should resolve any issues users had with a "NO LAND 3" EICAS warning. If flying a model whose EAI and WAI switches have an available AUTO position, the FO will now set the NAI and WAI to the ON position, and not leave them in AUTO, if NAI/WAI are required as per your Departure Brief selection. Based on our 747 consultant's report, this is the actual correct procedure. If the pre-flight procedure is run, door 2L should now open properly. For the approach checklist, you can now use the backup phrase "SET AND CHECKED" if you don't feel like reading back the actual altimeter value. For the landing checklist, you can now say "NOT ARMED" or "DISARMED" when responding to the position of the speed brake if doing a touch and go. Version 1.1. New Voices: Additional German Male Capt. Additional German Female FO. Additional American Captain. Additional American FO. Additional Australian Captain. Additional Australian FO. New UK Ground Crew. New United States FA. New United Kingdom FA Public Announcements. New German FA Public Announcements. New Features / Config Options: Integration with the PMDG Ground Service Vehicles (controlled via a new Config Option on the Secondary Panel). Option to have the Captain (that's you) only control the Hydraulics. New allowable start sequence: 4 - 1 - 2 - 3. New Config Option to allow the FO to select Terrain during his takeoff flow. Captain's Turbulence PA now available. Gate arrival procedures enhanced. Please see the tutorials for updated procedures. FS2Crew will only attempt to connect the ground equipment after you announce "Shutdown Procedure". This allows you to set the parking brake during taxi without triggering the ground equipment to be connected. New Config Option to allow the FO to turn on both generators in the Freighter, not just one. You can now talk to the ground crew by holding down the R/T INT switch. Hold it in the INT position. Fixed / Updated: Manuals updated. Some available voice commands were not listed. FO now properly calls "Plus 100" not "Approaching Minimums" based on associated Config Option. Voice Command "Select Flight Directors On/Off". No smoking signs no longer toggled in the Freighter models at 5000 feet in the descent. Can no longer call the ground crew while airborne. Touch and Go's fixed with respect to the Landing Checklist. Captain's no longer plays when you run the Pre-Flight events in Button Control. FO should now properly set the Baro scale (IN/MB) when in the US or Canada during his preflight flow. Missing sound file in the Secure Checklist (Emergency Exit Lights). FO will not announce passing the Transition Level during the descent if the altimeters are already set to QNH. Strobes On/Off voice command fixed. Match Speed / Bug Up/ Bug 1 - 5 - 10 - 20 - 25 -30 fixed. Setting the comm radios via voice control improved. Checklist Management voice commands fixed (ie., cancel the checklist, restart the checklist). On the FS2Crew Map, the the Flight Number now displays. FO should now properly acknowledge engine start commands. Config Manager panel.cfg handling updated to handle a rare situation where Vox ATC was on the panel.cfg file, resulting in Window numbers being put out of alignment. "Passing Altitude" math improved to generate more accurate values taking your rate of climb/descent into account. FO will not turn on the strobe lights when crossing runways (Voice command: "Confirm Clear to Cross/Enter Runway XXX" must be used). "Set and Checked" now works as a possible response for the Before Takeoff "Flaps" challenge. FO now responds to FMA callouts while in Descent Mode. If final sector, packs off deferred to the shutdown procedure. "Set Heading 000" fixed. Ground crew volume amplified. Dome light handling improved for 2nd legs. Twitter / Facebook integration now working again (Social Integration tab on the Config Manager).
  2. For the past 14 years or so....since I was 15 years old. I always do domestic flight around Europe and then do a long haul flight back to the states on Thanksgiving day. I usually do a lot of Europe flights up until new years day. It started out as a random thing to do because it seemed so new and fresh. (I usually only stay in the states when doing domestic flights). It ended up turning into a tradition of mine. The first flight to start the over the pond season was a flight from Frankfurt to Madrid. I then took a 747 from Madrid to San Francisco. Here are some screenshots of both flights.

    Editing the gauge files PMDG

    Hello fellow simmers! Recently i've decided that i would like to be able to configure weights, capacities etc. in the pmdg aircrafts. Of course, im not talking about working the FMC, but rather programming the .dll gauge files and change the settings in there (it has come to my attention, that the settings im looking for is placed in the Gauge files). Unfortunately, i've experienced some problems finding these settings as i go through the .dll in a program called Visual Studio.🤔 My primary objective is to change the ammount of fuel an aircraft can carry! :) Does anybody have any knowledge that might help?😃

    Uninstalling/Re-installing...

    I currently own all of the PMDG products (except the upcoming DC9) and I have an age old question concerning the MD-11. The rumor mill still has the MD-11 as a proverbial logic bomb for PMDG products and I want to include it in my hanger... but if it still causes errors within FSX to the point I have to wipe ALL my entire FSX drive, I rather leave it where it is - as a executable zip file from PMDG. Has PMDG addressed this issue long ago already and the latest updates will not have any effect on the sim, or is it still what many are saying what it is? I have tried running the MD-11 a while back after I had bought the 747-8i and I had to repair the entire drive... thankfully almost all my software were re-downloadable, I had to pay for another extended plan from PMDG to get my aircraft from them again.
  5. Hello. I know there are several threads concerning VAS usage. I also know PMDG rather staunchly asserts there is no VAS leakage with the 747. However, I thought I would start a new thread and toss in what I have discovered. I tried four times to fly from KABQ to LEST. All four attempts failed in an OOM at about three hours into the flight. I finally took the 777 and successfully completed the 10-hour flight. I got to thinking about the major differences between the 74 and the 77 and wondering why, despite PMDG's assertions to the contrary, the 74 seemed to be leaking memory. The major difference is the addition of ground service vehicles for the 74. Therefore, I determined to fly back to KABQ from LEST in the 74 but not request any PMDG ground vehicles. The only ground service I called for was ground power. This GPU is not drug into position by any vehicle. I did, however, use all the GSX ground services available. I successfully completed this 10-hour flight with no problems, though the 74 still seems to burn more memory than the 77. I obtained this information from the flight log files generated by FSUIPC. I did not change any of my FSX configuration settings between these flights, so I deem them negligible. What is important is that the FSX environment was the same for all three flights. I humbly submit the foregoing information for your, the forum's, evaluation. (I would have attached the three log files, but there does not seem to be a way to do this.) Eugene N. Kilmer
  6. When I make an ILS landing, the rudder on my PMDG 747 becomes stuck in a random direction. I have checked the rudder trim and it is set to zero. Screenshots are attached. I just use my mouse as the yoke and no extra hardware that might need calibration so I doubt that's the issue. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Hi everyone, I have both the 400 and the 8 versions of the 747 and on both I get this bug: when at cruise altitude, the trim remains "up" (as for example when I set it for takeoff) and in order to fly straight and level the autopilot has to push the yoke all the way down... Is it only on my computer!? I uninstalled and installed again the whole FSX 3 times since when I have the 747 and I've always had this issue... I have pictures about this but I'm new on this forum and I don't know how to post them (if i even can). Anyway, any ideas on this issue?

    Windows 8.1?

    Hi I have the pmdg 737ngx for fsx and everything is running smoothly on windows 8.1. Now, I'm really like the ''queen of the skies 747'' by pmdg and I'm planning on getting it soon. Have anyone got any personal experience with it on Windows 8.1 Cheers Marcus Grunnesjö
  9. So is there any plans for a 737 update after this? LCD lighting, New engine ignition switches, Split Scimitar winglets, etc? IF SO GREAT!!! I CANT WAIT!!! If not what about going into a regional jet like the EMB175/190 or the ERJ145, or the CRJ200/700/900? I know the 747-8i is in production for the expansion pack obviously, but the 737 can use an update.

  12. Got a rather odd one here for y'all.... So, the other day I had a flight going in the 772LR. I'm at cruise alt, everything is going fine. I fire up World of Warships (and YES I've reached out to them about this, they said "We suggest to communicate with the support dedicated to the game you are having issues with"), and I'm mid-game when all of a sudden I hear "Ten Thousand Feet", which I should NOT be hearing. I switch over (I'd already gotten sunk at that point), and sure enough I'm in a high-speed, steep dive. LONG story short, for some reason the 747 and 777 end up doing a roller-coaster flight path, which shouldn't be happening as WoWs (PER their tech support), "is designed not to conflict with other applications"; yet, it's messing with the 747, 777, as well as smartCARS (Microsoft .net framework error). Mouse yoke is NOT on, so I know that's not causing it. I'm NOT using My stick & throttle outside FSX, so I know that ain't the cause. I'm honestly at a loss as this should not be happening. I'm able to stop the roller-coastering if I exit the game. REALLY odd thing is..it does it not only IF I'm in battle, but also IF I'm just sitting there in port (for those who have never played, this is "port" http://prntscr.com/j5h93y and yes, I love My battleships, as you will see...for those familiar with the Navy). I'm honestly at a loss here. 99% of My flights are long-haul (15+ hrs) - usually KDFW - YSSY & back (744ER) or KBOS - YBTL & back (772LR) , and the occasional short trip to KSEA from KBOS to put the 772LR into maintenance (every 100 flight hrs). Thoughts? Ideas? (and spare Me the "don't play the game during your flights" responses as that ain't remotely helpful). i have to admit....this has Me baffled...
  13. Hi all, I am using for most of my airplanes in FS9 AES for ground equipment. But with the Posky 747 Pax/Combi airplanes it comes with it's own service equipement. Is there a way to turn this off? Thanks for your help! Guy

Hey everyone, I downloaded Project Opensky's Korean Air 747-8i and completed a flight to Seoul/Incheon Intl. and as I often do, after landing and taxing onto the runway exit I watched the landing in instant replay from the external locked spot view mode, it was only then that I noticed a bizarre smoke trail from underneath the tail-end of the fuselage and also that my auto-spoilers had failed to deploy, because the landing went fine (although I did notice that it seemed to take a while to slow down to a suitable taxi velocity), I did not suspect anything of real concern whilst I was in virtual cockpit view. Can anyone shed any light on what may be causing the smoke trail and failure of spoilers to deploy? I've have uploaded the replay to YouTube (below) for you to watch so you can see what I'm talking about. Thank you in advance for your assistance
  15. two things for the 747 QOTS2, #1 the device that switches views, non-existent its also not in the views/instrument panels. #2 PDMG menu is also non-existent from the addon menu. Ops manual talks about it, but i can't find them in the menus.

    747 V2 Engines

    Firstly, thank you RSR for giving us another taste of the upcoming 747 v2. Having recently gotten the opportunity to sit in a real world 747-400 cockpit I am really looking forward (patiently) for its release! When I was looking at the newest previews I noticed that the 744 has the RR engines. Obviously so far with the 737 and current 777 models are limited to one engine choice by nature, while the 747 has three choices my question is if the 747-400 v2 will have GE and PW engines along with the shown RR ones? The reason I ask is because IMHO PMDG would by nature would not want to just offer a cosmetic change but model the sound and performance differences properly, which may or may not (depending on the coding) be an easy task. While I'm posting this question I might as well ask about the -F, -LCF, -D, -M, -ER, and -BCF, I'm not holding my breath on the last 4 but what the heck. Thanks!

Just an hour ago, a train carrying six 737 fuselages, as well as parts for both 747's and 777's, derailed for unknown reasons... sending three of the six fuselages into the river, one badly damaged :(.   18. Hello guys. This is my first post here, even though I've been lurking for quite a while now... This is a post to announce a new livery for the 747-400ER Qotsll V3: South African Airways "new" paint. After wanting to fly through Africa, Europe and Middle East I looked for a nice SAA livery, but all I could find was some squishy models with inaccurate color palette and logo distortions (not saying mine is perfect). I then decided to give it a try and here it is. I chose the words (from a real SAA 747 by the way) SHOSHOLOZA for this livery and here is what it means (just copy pasted from Wikipedia): "Shosholoza" is a Fanagalo song that was sung by the mixed tribes of miners mining gold in South Africa. It is a mix of Zulu and Ndebele words, and can have various other South African languages thrown in depending on the singers. It was sung by all-male African workers that were working in the South African mines in a call and response style. The song is so popular in South African culture that it is often referred to as South Africa's second national anthem. Ever since P3D 4.2 and the 747 hotfix, I have noticed that there are no longer light relections on the aircraft at night for example: -strobe light reflection on outer engine pylon, winglets and tail cone -glow of nav lights on outer part of wing and winglets However, these things appear fine on my NGX and 777. Is it just me or can someone confirm this? Is it worth re-installing the 747

  21. I am trying to challenge myself in this... I've already watched a few videos on doing this, but, when on the overhead panel, trying to turn on ground power, the button is just blank with no sign on it... Just plain blank... Here's the steps... I turned on battery, then, put standby pwr to auto... And then turned on all of the bus ties and the gen cont... I then tried to turn the knob under the sign saying sys fault to aux, but the sign didn't go away... I ignored it, but then, I eventually figured out I had to turn on ground power... There is no white mark appearing on the switch... It's totally unavailable... I do have parking brakes on, but found it not helpful... Please help... Anybody!!! Thanks
