  1. Hi, with the new fenix B2 update and the hidden click spot for rudder lockout, I was having some trouble getting the tiller to work separately from the rudder.(I had a tiller axis set on the same input as the rudder axis 🙂 ). But now my question is: do I need to keep a tiller axis as well as the rudder one, or can I keep the default setting and only use the rudder axis? I mean can I also move the tiller without an axis for it?
  2. Hi, I recently bought the Thrustmaster TRFP rudder pedals and the work great! However, when I takeoff in the fenix it always veers to the right without any steering inputs. That also happens on landing. Any idea how to fix this?
  3. I have been trying to set up the Milviz Baron for the past few days. I found it to be very over sensitive to rudder and brake inputs using Saitek Rudder unit. No matter what I did, the thing was all over the place during taxi. Note that I have been using the EZCA profile that was prepared by Milviz. After purchasing The Opus weather program, I decided to Turn off the EZCA setup and try out the opus camera effects. After setting up a Camera, I started a test flight to check things out. I use FSUIPC for setting up all control inputs and had the rudder and brake controls dialed all the way back trying to control this beast on the ground. To my surprise I noticed it took much more input (almost full deflection) to get the brakes or rudder to take effect. Also note that in testing I had set the realism setting in FSX to Easy. I returned all the Slope settings in FSUIPC back to 0 and changed the realism settings to realistic and sure enough, the control problems were a thing of the past. The other thing that I noticed was that the nose drop experienced during braking was much more realistic. I have not tried this on any other aircraft at this point. I just thought it was worth letting the community know. I quite often see threads with similar control problems. It seems like at least in this case EZCA was doing to much!!
  4. Hello Everyone. I am a M.Engineering student from a University in Canada. Our team is currently designing and building a fixed based flight simulator to be used for educational and research purposes. We are almost done building the rig, so now we need to choose a control equipment (yoke, throttle and rudder for now). For our test-bed, we used CH's FlightSim Yoke, throttle quadrant and pro pedals. But the built quality and the feel of the control did not meet on par with our standards. So researches were done, and we found some better quality devices, price ranging from $200 ~ $1350. Yoke One of the most important equipment we need to purchase. Here is the list of the ones we found so far. Saitek Pro Flight Cessna Yoke System $210 VRInsight Flight Master Yoke $400 Precision Flight Controls Cirrus Beech Yoke $620 GOFLIGHT GF-Pro Yoke System $750 Throttle There weren't as many choices as yokes, so we simply went with the concept of our simulator, which is mainly for general aviation Saitek Pro Flight Throttle Prop Mixture Module $150 Rudder Same for the throttle, I haven't found many variants, so decided to stick with this Saitek Pro Flight Cessna Rudder $210 So.. finally, my question is, of the four yokes above, which one do you recommend? Remember, it needs to feel and look as professional (real) as possible. Thank you in advance for your help!
  5. When i do quick rudder movement/casting, my game drops from 25-35 fps to 8-12. ONLY when i move my yoke. Here is gif were i move my rudders compared to when i dont. You can see the fps counter either in the top left corner (default fsx fps counter). The first part of the gif i dont move the yoke, the last part i move all my rudders at once (it really ######s up everything): https://gyazo.com/1c269b5895aba35e6ac2f09f1ef554e3 Please help ;-;. Best regards: ´Tor Edit: i have tried all the different types of 737s, they all do it Even more edits: Just found out it does the same on the 777, its does not do it on any other aircrafts, nor the JS41. These are my specs: I7 4720HQ GTX 980M 8GB 1600 MHz ram FSX installed on SSD All drivers are up to date, including BIOS and chipset, everything...
  6. I just stumbled upon these guys thanks to a friend. Don't know if anyone knew about them or I am late to the game. http://flightsimcontrols.com/
  7. I recently purchased the Saitek Cessna rudder pedals from Amazon warehouse deals. I got a really good price on them, but plugged them in and quickly noticed the right toe brake is not working. Everything else functions perfectly. I am a bit reluctant to return them and pay an extra £50 for brand new ones when my instinct tells me this issue can be fixed. Is it worth opening them up and trying to fix them? Maybe this is a known issue that someone can offer some input on? Many thanks Oliver
  8. Hi guys, I'm desperately trying to fix (what I think is) a FDE problem in Prepar3d V3.1. I'll just explain what happened: I've just bought the Milviz MD530F helicopter and experienced a weird behaviour regarding the yaw axis: When I apply right rudder, the helicopter turns about 20°, then stops. After a second it turns again for a few degrees and stops again. Sometimes the helicopter doesn't move around the yaw axis for a couple of seconds, just to turn for 180° in the next second... I would describe it as lagging. That makes it unflyable. I thought it was a helicopter-specific problem (same problem with the standard R22), but then I found out that the Alabeo Extra 300s - and all other aircraft - have the same problem: When I pull the nose up for about 30°, turn the Extra into the knife-edge position and let go of the controls, the nose should drop. The nose drops, but stops after a few degrees. A second later, the nose drops until it "locks" again. I guess something is blocking the aircraft from moving around freely, especially around the yaw axis. It has nothing to do with the controls. The pedals move as they should when I apply rudder, and the problem even occurs when I unplug all my controllers and fly with the keyboard. I've disabled all my addons (Accufeel for example), double checked the assignments and calibrated all my controllers. Has anyone experienced something like that or even has a solution? Thank you very much! Regards, Ben
  9. Apparently there still is no fix for the PMDG 777 Nose Wheel steering and GSX Push Back Tug fighting each other? Getting a little tired of the rudder pedals and tiller violently moving about in the cockpit. Please tell me there is a fix without some ridiculous work around.
  10. Hi everyone, I really enjoy playing Microsoft Flight with my old Sidewinder Joystick which only has X and Y axis. The problem with this, as some of you may know, is that you must press the A and D keys for rudder control that makes taxing in airports annoying. Now this really bothers me because I can't taxi using only my joystick as I did with FSX (auto rudder) and I don't want to spend money buying another one with the fancy twist function. So I found a way to go around this issue. The goal is to make Flight think that your Joystick is the mouse (because there is auto rudder when you fly with the mouse). Doing this will require changes in the standard.xml file. I'll explain the procedure: 1. Backup standard.xml 1.1. Go to C:\Users\youruser\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Flight\Players\SomeLettersAndNumbers\Career\Controls 1.2. Copy and paste this file in a safe location as to conserve it in its original form. If you want to reverse the changes just copy the backup in the folder described in 1.1. 2. Make changes in standard.xml file. Its very simple, just a copy and paste. 2.1. Right-click xml file and select "Open With" and choose Notepad. 2.2. Look for the code below and delete only what is in bold: ... <MapName> NameOfYourJoystick{846A2670-2423-11E1-8001-444553540000}.{45AAD43A-A9BC-40E0-96BA-A3E3577BBE53} </MapName> <MapVersion>8</MapVersion> <Axis> <AxName>XAxis</AxName> <Index>0</Index> <EventName>FlightControls.AileronSetAxis</EventName> <AxScale>1.000000</AxScale> <AxNull>0.100000</AxNull> <NonLinear>True</NonLinear> </Axis> <Axis> <AxName>YAxis</AxName> <Index>1</Index> <EventName>FlightControls.ElevatorSetAxis</EventName> <AxScale>1.000000</AxScale> <AxNull>0.100000</AxNull> <NonLinear>True</NonLinear> </Axis> <Axis> <AxName>RzAxis</AxName> <Index>5</Index> <EventName>FlightControls.RudderSetAxis</EventName> <AxScale>1.000000</AxScale> <AxNull>0.100000</AxNull> <NonLinear>True</NonLinear> </Axis> <Axis> <AxName>Slider</AxName> <Index>6</Index> <EventName>Engine.ThrottleSetAxis</EventName> <AxScale>1.000000</AxScale> </Axis> ... 2.3. Replace deleted code for this: <Axis> <AxName>XAxis</AxName> <Index>0</Index> <EventName>FlightControls.MouseSetXAxis</EventName> <AxScale>1.000000</AxScale> <AxNull>0.031000</AxNull> </Axis> <Axis> <AxName>YAxis</AxName> <Index>1</Index> <EventName>FlightControls.MouseSetYAxis</EventName> <AxScale>-1.000000</AxScale> <AxNull>0.031000</AxNull> </Axis> 3. Save and start MS Flight. Now your joystick will work as if it were the mouse controller. That's all it takes. Now you have auto rudder and you can taxi through the runway with your joystick and fly! I hope this helps
  11. I have a saiteck yoke and ch pedals ...im able to cal. the yoke but the pedals dont want to play. they work in flight but are way off. When I try to calibrate fsx gives me the same routine as the yoke.............what am I messing up? Thomas Thompson
  12. 74,99 € at amazon.de (Germany) (available) mediamarkt.de (delivery 30.05.2023) saturn.de (delivery 30.05.2023) II think amazon.de offer is reaction on this week´s mediamarkt/saturn sale so won´t last for much longer I bet
  13. Hello! So my problem is the following. I program all my hardware with FSUIPC. If something doesn't work (in my case the Saitek Rudder Pedals), the I program it with FSX. The thing is my PC (specs on profile) detects my joysticks, but FSX doesn't. Sometime when FSX does detect the joysticks, FSUIPC doesn't or vice versa. The problem with FSUIPC and my rudder pedals is that, I assign it to Rudder through "Send to FSUIPC calibration". Good, now in my AIrbus X when I give it full left it sometimes doesn't respond but if I give it full right it will. And the only way to take it out of full right is slamming full left. I can't get the rudder to run smoothly so if I give it 1/4 movement I don't get neutral or full. Thats the first problem. Sometimes following that, if I open while in flight "Controls" and see there is only Mouse Look, and Mouse Yoke. when I exit all of sudden no joystick works. But before I went into "Controls" everything is working. I do have my rudder pedals and Logitech joystick in a USB hub but even if I switch it they still wont work. Windows DOES detect the joysticks- all 3 of them. I have disabled in device manager "Allow PC to turn of these joysticks to save energy" (something like that) but that option doesn't save  . If you need screenshots of everything please let me know. This is very annoying and I really want to fix this problem ASAP! Thanks for reading this!
  14. I've been having some trouble utilizing the rudders on the Airbus x Add-on that I recently installed. Please note I am only using a keyboard and mouse, no external peripherals. As well, I am new to FSX, and Airbus X. It is mandatory to do a rudder check during the after-start checklist, but I've been having trouble getting the rudders to work. The problem is, that when I use the rudder (yaw) keys, the rudders don't appear to be moving the way they should; When I press "0", the rudder moves just a slight bit, but immediately returns to it's original position. When I hold the "0" button, the rudders rapidly and continuously move only a slight, but not fully extending/extending. As well, a tool tip continues to show up, saying that "It is difficult to fly this aircraft without rudder controls, to activate them, press ctrl+x". The problem is, ctrl+x isn't doing anything, and the rudders continue to be problematic. Please help! (Note that I am new to FSX)
  15. Hi guys, I am trying to buy some pedals, I was thinkin on SAITEK combat pedals but then I found many forums saying that it has a confilct with Warthog Thrustmaster joystick, which I own, the conflict seems to appear with PMDG NGX using warthog and the saitek pedals, any have any experiewnce to confirm this? if that the case which other rudder pedals will you recommend?
  16. My Saitek Pro Flight pedals appear to have come to the end of their life, and I'm now looking for a replacement. I'm particularly interested in the Saitek Cessna pedals, but i'd like to hear actual users' experiences. I have a couple questions: 1) Is the movement smooth? The Pro Flight ones were a bit sticky, not enough to prevent me from using them, but annoying nevertheless. 2) Do the pedals have any sideways play? Again, the Pro Flights do, and while it isn't a big problem, it's pissing me off as well. 3) Are they reliable and do the axes stay exactly where you leave them? Also, how are the deadzones? My pedals' rudder axis has a tendency to start drifting to the left if left untouched (this is actually the reason I'm looking for new pedals - the rudder axis pot is broken in some way) and the brakes have huge deadzones at the beginning of the range, requiring me to set them up with FSUIPC to avoid the jump from 0% to 25% or so when coming out of the deadzone. Of course, I'm also open to suggestions - pretty much anything that costs less than, say, $250 will do as long as they work as expected.
  17. Hello! I was deciding between the Saitek yoke and rudder or the X55. Dont wanna get too indepth but is the X55 good for boeings like the NGX 737 and cessnas or would it make sense to get the 6 year old yoke? Will using an X55 feel weird and is it any good to set flaps as there isnt really a lever or anything like that? You get what I mean, If i want to fly Boeings and Cessnas, whats better? x55 or saitek yoke and rudder and what are the cons of both of them (the x55 and yoke, besides the rudder) and ill just tell me whats better for me. Please dont say its up to you, i dont want this to go too indepth, just looking for 1 or 2 straight forward answers Thanks in advance.
  18. Hi Guys, I need to buy a new joystick to use in FSX and other flight sims but i am having a very bad time in deciding which one to get. I thought about the Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog but it is too expensive (400 euros) and its really a perfect match for the A10 warthog. I like flying with FSX planes so i was thinking about the Saitek X52 pro since its plug and play in fsx and cheaper at 190 euros. I need a joystick which could be used as an all rounder too and i also believe future expansions are more available with saitek gear. The saitek x52 pro also has an MFD display on the thrust control unit: - How useful is this? - Is it really important in FSX? - Can we assign airplane controls to it? What do you guys think: - Is the saitek x52 pro a good buy for FSX? - Are you guys happy with your saitek X52 pro and other saitek gear? Any feedback that can help me decide will be appreciated. Thanks in advance, happy flying TOX
  19. Hi, I'm having serious issues with the toe brakes on my saitek pro flight pedals. There's a real nasty and sharp deadzone kind of thing at the lower end of their range of movement. What i mean is that before i push the brakes over something like 20% of their range of movement (where 0% means that the brakes are off and 100% that they're on), absolutely nothing happens. Then, when i press them beyond the 20% point, they suddenly snap into action (As you can imagine, this is not good). Between 20% and 100% they are smooth as silk, no sudden spikes or anything. I've even tried setting the pedals up with FSUIPC, still no luck. Is this caused by bad calibration or are my pedals broken? Cheers KorRacer
