Please forgive me while I try to explain the situation as best as I can. I'm not hearing the unique/authentic engine sounds that the 737NGX offer. All I'm getting are the default FSX engine sounds. Whether I'm in the VC or an outside view, the engine sound and volume is the same. There is not a difference in the type of sound. The engine sounds worked originally when I first installed PMDG, but put it away for a while and have recently started flying again. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling PMDG with no success. I've searched all over the web and couldn't find anything related to exactly this. I've found bug posts with FSX with a solution of pressing 'Q' twice to turn off/on the FSX sound but that doesn't apply to me. I miss hearing the authentic sound of the engines. Can someone please help? Running FSX SP2 on Windows 10 x64. Thank you! Justin

Firstly, thank you RSR for giving us another taste of the upcoming 747 v2. Having recently gotten the opportunity to sit in a real world 747-400 cockpit I am really looking forward (patiently) for its release! When I was looking at the newest previews I noticed that the 744 has the RR engines. Obviously so far with the 737 and current 777 models are limited to one engine choice by nature, while the 747 has three choices my question is if the 747-400 v2 will have GE and PW engines along with the shown RR ones? The reason I ask is because IMHO PMDG would by nature would not want to just offer a cosmetic change but model the sound and performance differences properly, which may or may not (depending on the coding) be an easy task. While I'm posting this question I might as well ask about the -F, -LCF, -D, -M, -ER, and -BCF, I'm not holding my breath on the last 4 but what the heck. Thanks!

So okay, I'm all ready to start my engines, normal start, good spoolup, N1 starts decreasing and stabilizes at 22.1 instead of 22.4. EGT immediately moves from 560 down to 476 and stays there. When I throttle up, none of the engines throttle up, they remain in the same old boring 22.1. Previously, in the original release, changing the affinity mask fixed this problem, but now, even with the last working affinity mask 254 it doesn't work. I have tried 255 and 84 too. Help?

HI, i´ve been having a problem with the aircraft recently. Some parts, such as engines (the engine cover appears, the inside of the engine doesnt appear), the wheels are "floating", and the APU exhaust is empty (i can see the sky through the exhaust hole). Thanks, Tatin 98

I need help. I'm experiencing very strange engine startup problems. Here is what happens. I recently bought & installed the 737 PMDG and made a couple succesful flights (well, in terms of properly working software :) and starting the engines never caused a problem following the correct procedures. Then a couple of days ago after preparing the plane, programming the FMC, etc, the engines seemed to start but when i increased thrust nothing happened, so i increased thrust even more, still nothing only an alarm went off. I checked the engine display which showed normal values of 20.7% N1, 415 EGT, 61% N2 and 0.65 FF. I shut the engines down and tried a restart. Restarting showed again proper engine values but no increase in thrust whatsoever, also when increasing thrust N1 doesnt move at all, although the thrust levers in the VC do move! Also an alarm in the cockpit goes off when increasing thrust even more. I've tested with other planes and the thrust lever of my joystick does work. The problem i have can also be heard. When outside of the plane you can hear the engines spooling up but when i move the camera behind the engines no jetblast is heard and they become a little bit more quiet after auto cut-off, like they are spinning without fuel. Also in the cockpit you hear all the engine sounds except the last part of "up and running". I've tried every startup checklist i could find on internet, most recent the one from Tom Risager but without any result. I even did a fresh install of the plane and the first flight the engines started as they should but now again they wont anymore. I dont know what to do anymore and i couldnt find any answer on the internet. Does anybody have any idea what is wrong?

Hi - using FSX + acceleration, am not able to spool up the engines. Using 'F4' the engines will increase power then drop back to idling. Same happens with Saitek throttle. Tried with default 737-800, no a/pilot on. Have even gone back to a fresh install, of FSX - still same problem. Trawled the www to find an answer - no avail. appreciate any tips you can give to resolve this, thanks. Dave.

Hi! I am having problems starting the Nemeth Designs/MilViz Ch-47 Chinook . I have read through the manual to find out how to start this bird but it never seems to happen :( . The engines *DO* start-up but there is no rotation from the blades what-so-ever (Even with the ECL in GND Mode). Could someone please explain to me how to start-up this helicopter or any kind of tutorial would be appreciated! Kriss :t4012:

Hi all I have tried twice to do a flight with the Ilyushin IL-96 airliner. This was designed by Dimitri Samborski (sp?) of Air Simmers. I can't get enough airspeed for take off even at Jacksonille Int'l, FL with fairly long runways. I check fuel load and payload, those numbers seem ok. I notice also for just routine taxiing I have to set throttle to almost 30% with my joystick. The most I can get to is about 110 IAS, for a plane that large, probably should be about 160 IAS. I find no control for elevator trim, but I do set flaps to 5%. If Dimitri is reading this, please advise me on this, it is a great looking plane in the Aeroflot colors. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong. Larry -- USA

With the 737 on the FSX I'm facing this odd problem the last time: I start the engines with the APU as normal, the starters cuts out and I can switch on the engine generators. But they won't produce any bleed air and they won't react on my throttle inputs, while the thrust levers are moving and the takeoff configuration warning horn sounds. Another odd fact: The are only at an idle n1 of about 20 %. If I save this panel state and reload it, I got an engine failure and they have miraculously stopped. PMDG Setup also says, there are no active failures. Even if I restart them they won't react, but sometimes, if I choose another livery or hitting <control>+<E> helps. (I'm aware of the isolation valve and packs should be off while starting etc.) Any suggestions?

Hello everyone. I have studied the 777's FCOM, and noticed an option "GE Engines with CON IGN position", meaning that there should be an option for a continuous ignition position on the engine START switches, which would be called START/IGNITION switches. My question: why isn't this included in the PMDG 777?
