  1. The Issue: You double-click on Prepar3D V4, the splash screen comes up and then within just seconds, the Prepar3D window completely disappears. And you may also have noticed that Prepar3D.exe is still listed as a process within Task Manager. Does this issue sound familiar to you? I recently experienced the above issue with Prepar3D and spent endless time searching through numerous forums, as well as YouTube videos. At the point I was about to give up and completely reinstall Prepar3D, I finally managed to resolve the problem. I hope the following solution helps some of you fellow simmers in need of a fix. The Solution: First things first, a couple of questions to ask yourself: 1.) Have you recently installed any add-on aircraft or scenery? - It is possible that an add-on has caused conflict with the Sim and it may be worth reinstalling that add-on. 2.) Have you checked your Event Viewer logs? - It may very well be worth checking the event logs to identify what might be causing the Sim to crash. Assuming you have checked the above, let's proceed with the solution: Firstly, please ensure that Prepar3d.exe is no longer running in the background by doing the following: Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE on your keyboard Click on Task Manager Scroll down until you see Prepar3D exe, right-click on the process and select End Task Secondly, do the following: Click on the Start button Type the following on your keyboard: run When the Run window pops up, type the following: %appdata% Press Enter/Return on your keyboard Open the Lockheed Martin folder Delete the Prepar3D v4 folder, or alternatively Cut & Paste the folder to another location Just to reassure you, these files will be regenerated shortly. Now for the next step: Click on the Start button Type the following on your keyboard: run When the Run window pops up, type the following: %programdata% Press Enter/Return on your keyboard Open the Lockheed Martin folder Delete the Prepar3D v4 folder, or alternatively Cut & Paste the folder to another location. And that's it. Please feel free to go ahead and open Prepar3D. Please note that it will take a little longer than normal to regenerate the scenery indexes and other files. Then with a bit of luck, it should open as normal! Please feel free to send me your comments, questions and any feedback. I would love to hear if this has worked for you. Andrus7789 Andrew Russell
  2. I've been enjoying the NGX for several years now but there is an annoying event that occurs at what so far seems to be random times. I've searched the forum repeatedly for this problem but I see no mention of it yet. I'm using FSX-SE on Win 10. Here the problem, occasionally, when I select a saved NGX flight with a fully setup FMC flight (while starting the sim fresh or after just completing another flight), right at the beginning of the 18 second countdown the plane will begin to flip about wildly on the tarmac, usually about the pitch axis, and of course a crash is detected and the flight starts over. On the second go it usually stays put but the entire panel state is lost and all work that went into it is gone. If I close and restart the sim the same wild flip crash will again happen for that saved flight. These crashing saved flights only occur once and a while (maybe 25% of the time) and many times I can save a flight and open it later with no problem. I haven't been able to determine what might be wrong but I suspect it is something that I can adjust if I just knew where to start. I have Saitek Pedals and Yolk but the problem occurs whether they are connected or not. I'm really at a loss and I was hoping to get some insight from the knowledgeable users here. One thing I haven't done is uninstall and re-install the NGX. Thanks for you help, Eric Anderson
  3. Hello, yesterday (23.10.17) everything worked fine with ChasePlane but today, it didnt Startup anymore for some reason. 4. I installed a fresh copy of Prepar3D V4 Professional Plus to my desktop. However, the windows error message saying that prepar3d.exe has stopped working and it automatically closes the program. I tried reinstalling it but it was no use.. Please somebody help..
  5. For about the last three days I have had Raas crashing my Prepar3d v4 sim on startup. The first thing I was told was to check the trouble shooting section of the manual and this was absolutely no help and it didn't address my issue at all. The next thing somebody mentioned it could be a SODE issue, which is was not. Somebody from FS2Crew told me that I would probably have to experiment a bit. That is what I really want to hear from tech support. The sad thing is I first bought Raas Pro for 22.46 EUROS and couldn't use it because of the VAS usage. So now I have invested another 29.95 EUROS and still can't get it to work. But boy have I been experimenting and I am lucking I didn't experiment right into a complete reinstall. If anybody at FS2Crew is interested in offering Tech support, please find inserted the RAAS PRO LOG. Any help will be deeply appreciated. Searching for Flight Simulator's Main Window... Retrieving Flight Simulator's Path and Version... It's a supported Flight Simulator... Retrieving RAAS Pro version... Reading the INITIALIZATION file... Checking for updates... 6. I have some issues with the normal procedures document in the C90 GTX and the lack of documentation makes me uncertain if it is just not modelled or if I am doing something wrong. * When I check the voltages at the overhead after battery start it is always the same (just below 20 volts) which is not enough according to the normal procedures. * Also when I then close the gen bus I still don't get any volts from the generator circuit as the manual says that I would. * There is also no lights for [Gen Tie Man Close] or otherwise in startup where there is supposed to be. Is this just not modelled or am I doing something wrong?

  8. Hi! I am having problems starting the Nemeth Designs/MilViz Ch-47 Chinook . I have read through the manual to find out how to start this bird but it never seems to happen :( . The engines *DO* start-up but there is no rotation from the blades what-so-ever (Even with the ECL in GND Mode). Could someone please explain to me how to start-up this helicopter or any kind of tutorial would be appreciated! Kriss :t4012: .
  9. So, I'm new to the PMDG 737 and have been trying to follow the manual but have already hit a snag. In the manual to go from cold and dark it says to use the FMC and load the cold and dark state. I do so, and get the green initialization bar at the top of the screen, but the FMC doesn't come back. It stays blank and I can't use it afterwards. What could be wrong here? Thanks -- Alexander
  10. Whenever I start the engines on the PMDG 777, both engines start normaly. But when i try to advance the throttle setting, only one engine produces the selected amount of power. The physical throttles both appear to be moving. Would appreciate help! ^_^
  11. Just want to check in and see if anyone else has reported the same condition since installing SP1 for the 777-200LR. Each time I initially load the 777-200LR at any airport (default of 3rd party), my frames and smoothness suffer for a period of around 2-3 minutes. After that period of time elapses, everything goes back to normal in terms of frames and smoothness and no stuttering. This has only happened since installing SP1. This is a dedicated FSX machine, and I have not installed any other software or made any changes to FSX or the PC prior to, or since installing SP1. It seems to me that there is a process or series of processes occurring in FSX's background that are causing this drop and lack of smoothness during the initial 2-3 minute startup at the gate. I have been using the default PMDG startup -> ie: engines ON at the gate. PS: It's not a huge deal breaker, as I have adapted to the situation by just waiting out the 2-3 minutes until everything settles back (ie sit at gate) into normal again. SP1 otherwise has been absolutely phenomenal......utterly pleased with it.
  12. I'm mainly runnig FSX and using Nvidia Inspector v1.9.6.8. Can I disable the Nvidia Display Driver Service to free up some resources? It's default setting is "automatic" in windows services. If so should I disable it from msconfig or services.msc?
  13. Out of the blue, FS9 refuses to start. The splash screen flashes a fraction of a second, then FS9 closes. There is no BSOD, no error message, no event in the Windows event log. It seems to just exit cleanly. The task mgr shows FS running for a couple of seconds. I have made no (known) changes to my FS since my last flight. What I have tried: - restore Windows to a point prior to my last good flight - disabled all non-stock sceneries (although it does not get as far as renewing the scenery index) - deleted FS9.cfg. A new one is indeed generated but with 0 bytes. - removed SweetFX - run another FS9.exe that I had backed up when installing the 4GB patch - malware scans My next step is to try in Safe Mode... if I am ever able to access Safe Mode in W7! Has anyone perhaps encountered this and found a solution? Thanks, Phil Windows 7 64. FS9.1. Nvidia
  14. I've had fsx with SP1 SP2 and acceleration running on my HP Envy with windows 8 fine for the past few months. There was some crashing at the start but it stopped after I did the UIAutomationcore.dll fix. Since then it was all fine, but then 2 days ago my PC did an annoying automatic update for windows 8. When i tried starting fsx, the start screen came up for about 3 mins then a fatal error message appeared. I've tried over and over again to fix it. I uninstalled addons i added right before this, updated my drivers, repaired acceleration, changed the folder permissions, and repeated the UIAutomationcore.dll fix in case it reset. NONE OF THEM WORKED. Many forums recommended a complete reinstall, but i have a huge amount of addons that i do not feel like reinstalling, too (plus many of them are hard to find again). On top of that, some people said reinstalling doesnt work, so i dont want to spend all that time just to find out fsx still crashes. I REPEAT: A REINSTALL IS THE LAST RESORT. To find out what was causing it i ran it with appcrashview, but i cant make sense of it (im not familiar with programming). Heres what i got: _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Version=1 EventType=BEX EventTime=130441324786139834 ReportType=2 Consent=1 UploadTime=130441324786764853 ReportIdentifier=d992ec3b-d7a4-11e3-bece-00c2c60072af IntegratorReportIdentifier=d992ec3a-d7a4-11e3-bece-00c2c60072af WOW64=1 Response.BucketId=22babecc860e0aba0a8becb8ad234190 Response.BucketTable=5 Response.LegacyBucketId=981331481 Response.type=4 Sig[0].Name=Application Name Sig[0].Value=fsx.exe Sig[1].Name=Application Version Sig[1].Value=10.0.61637.0 Sig[2].Name=Application Timestamp Sig[2].Value=46fadb14 Sig[3].Name=Fault Module Name Sig[3].Value=unknown Sig[4].Name=Fault Module Version Sig[4].Value=0.0.0.0 Sig[5].Name=Fault Module Timestamp Sig[5].Value=00000000 Sig[6].Name=Exception Offset Sig[6].Value=00650074 Sig[7].Name=Exception Code Sig[7].Value=c0000005 Sig[8].Name=Exception Data Sig[8].Value=00000008 DynamicSig[1].Name=OS Version DynamicSig[1].Value=6.3.9600.2.0.0.768.101 DynamicSig[2].Name=Locale ID DynamicSig[2].Value=1033 UI[2]=C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\fsx.exe UI[3]=A fatal error occurred. 15. Could someone tell me how to load the 737 NGX in cold and dark? I made a save of it in this state and made it default but the "initialising" green bar thing starts up the plane anyway. I found out that you can load the plane through the "addons" tab however I have never had this tab and cannot seem to make it appear. Any help much apprieciated!!!
  16. I am trying to challenge myself in this... I've already watched a few videos on doing this, but, when on the overhead panel, trying to turn on ground power, the button is just blank with no sign on it... Just plain blank... Here's the steps... I turned on battery, then, put standby pwr to auto... And then turned on all of the bus ties and the gen cont... I then tried to turn the knob under the sign saying sys fault to aux, but the sign didn't go away... I ignored it, but then, I eventually figured out I had to turn on ground power... There is no white mark appearing on the switch... It's totally unavailable... I do have parking brakes on, but found it not helpful... Please help... Anybody!!! Thanks
  17. Hello! This is my first post on the avsim forums and unfortunately it has to be a CTD! I have been using FSX for over a year now with very few problems, I have various addons such as Airbus X, Several Aerosoft and flyTampa sceneries and quite a few freeware sceneries. I also have the saitek throttle quadrant and Logitech extreme 3D Joystick, so as you can see I have invested quite a lot of money into flightsim. So, the problem first started about a week ago when I flew from Gatwick to Frankfurt and back in the Airbus X, when I was back at Gatwick I set up for another flight up to Edinburgh and took off. After about 10 minutes I got a fatal error message and fsx crashed. I was dissapointed, I had thought that my fatal errors had been fixed but evidently not. I restarted and FSX loaded the `Free flight menu' and fatal errored again, it now does this every time I start it. I have no idea what the problem is, let alone how to fix it! So I have scoured the internet and tried the following: .-Running the repair option on disk 1. -Deleting the FSX.CFG. -Deleting the Logbook.bin. -Renaming addon scenery. -Removing addon aircraft. -Defragmenting I have also ran appcrashview and the exeption code provided was 0x0000005 which I am lead to believe is something to do with memory? I am really, really, really hoping to avoid a reinstall here. I would be so grateful to anybody that can offer any help or advise regarding this, Thanks! 18. Hello guys, Today I bought PMDG 737NGX. I installed it without any problem. But when I want to start the aircraft, I can't click on anything. How can I fix this? I am running FSX SP1 Thanks! Jordy
  19. Kriss :t4012:
  20. Hello there internet! Some help please? :)System spec belowSo this evening I wanted to fly the a321 wich I haven't done for ages. (I have played without any problems for the last months). And I looked for the aircraft but I musthave deleted it sometime... So i googled and I read that I should use the repair tool from disk one.I started it and it finsihed... When I looked into my simobjects/airplanes folder I saw the a321 now! Started the game and then for the first time EVER, Microsoft flight simulator har crashed (fatal error). I was like cause it worked just 15 minutes ago and all I did was using the repair tool from the cd to get my a321 back wich it did.Now I've no clue what to do! The game wont even start so i can click the menus such as free flight, missions you know the deal. It only shows the fsx startup thing and then I get the Fatal error message from windows .What I've done is installed the microsoft XP UIAutomationCore.dll after I've read that this is a common error. Didnt help a bit!I've deleted the logbook file after I read that this helped for another user with the same problem. The same user later fixed his problem by changing the FSX.CFG file with an added .BAK to the end so FSX could recreate that file. I can't find it and I dunno how to search for hidden files. <-- Delete could work?I've also read here on avsim that g3d.dll? might be the problem but I've no clue what that is...Unfortunatly I gotta go to bed now, school tomorrow but I'll be checking with you tomorrow to see if there has been any good comments that can help me ;)Mayby restore the FSX folder to an older date? Dunno how to... heheAnyway, I will be very happy if someone bothers helping me so I can play this awesome game again and I'll be happy to reply to your comments and questions!btw im not very good at computer language ;)If you have any similar threads (wich I cant find obviously) then please link them and ill delete this post ASAP if it helps me! ;) CheersWindows 7 64bitFlight simulator Deluxe edition with a couple of freeware addonsAllaround a ok computer wich I know can handle fsx!!! Worked yesterday and before that...David (sorry for misspelling)
