I am having a problem with ENB series adjusting the brightness levels up and down without my input or control and have no idea why its doing this. New PC (self built) with new, clean and updated Windows 7 x64, FSX fresh install with a few tweaks (only the minimum advised by Nick N) and a few of add-ons. (737NGX, UTX, Reel feel) All is working perfectly expect ENB Series. After a few seconds of starting up with ENB active the light level will suddenly drop from normal FSX state (ie as I would expect without ENB active) to what I would expect from ENB being active. Then a few seconds later drop really low to almost pich black then a few a seconds later will go really bright again and so on and so forth. If anyone one has any advice on what the cause may be I'd really appreciate the help. Many thanks

Hi Everyone, I am having a problem with a lot of FSX freeware planes. They all seem to have this flashing board across the captain's PFD, ND, and some part of the EICAS. I am mainly concerned about a recent plane I downloaded from the Avsim Library. It is the [PIA ATR-42-500 by Ahmed Ahsen & Ed Cox]. I have attached an image for your better understanding. Any help will be much appreciated. Thank YOU So much!

Hi everyone, Slowly working my way through Paul's excellent tuning document, specifically the DX10 part. Have set up the basics as far as page 21 and am now test-flying. Have started to notice several graphical anomalies, some of which are new and some of which were there in DX9 mode. Would really appreciate some help or pointers on where the root causes are likely to be. I've attached some screenshots at this link to help illustrate the problems. Brief description of each below: I'm using ORBX PNW and test flying from Anacortes (ORBX payware) in Alabeo Extra 300 and RealAir Duke B60. Also using REX 2.0 Essentials and EzDok Camera. Pic 1 & 2: Have noticed the runway textures flash noticeably when viewed from any camera other than the virtual cockpit. It's as though the ORBX texture is fighting with the default / REX texture underneath and they can't decide which one should be on top. Strange how isn't doesn't happen from the VC though. Have unticked runway textures in REX but not sure, as that the have been loaded once, if this unloads them. Pic 3 & 4: Doing setup with clear skies as per the guide. Have noticed in any tight or moderate turn that I can see the sky being shaded at the extremities of the screen. Surprised as my hardware has handled some pretty heavy weather in the past that it seems to be struggling to keep up with a plain blue sky!? Pic 5: Momentarily, when switching from an exterior camera back to the VC, I get this weird effect on the windows and instruments. In DX9, I sometimes got everything 'greyed out' while the textures loaded, but not this. Only happens in the RealAir aircraft. My hardware spec: i7-2600K @ 3.8GHz / Asus P8Z77-V / Corsair AX850 / 8GB Mushkin Redline 7-7-7-24 / GTX580 1.5Gb / HyperX 120Gb SSD / Samsung F3 1TB / VelociRaptor 300Gb (FSX) / FSX Acceleration / Win7 64 HP Any thoughts gratefully received!! Hi everyone, I have tried the cloud fix suggested here: http://www.simforums.com/forums/how-to-get-rid-of-annoying-flashing-clouds_topic24830.html For some reason it just isn't working for me. Does anyone have any idea what it could be? I have also just recently reinstalled fsx with acceleration following PMDGs method as described here: http://support.precisionmanuals.com/KB/a87/how-to-uninstall-and-reinstall-fsx.aspx My system is a i7 980x @ 4.2Ghz w/ GTX 480 1.5GB VRAM and 6GB of DDR3 RAM. I am running DX9 btw. I hope some people can provide some insight into this very bizarre problem because it has really stumped me. :(

fsx-ms Flickering, Flashing, Crazy Texture Corruption..
Snacko posted a topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
I have been working through getting FSX to run well on my new system: ASUS Maximus VIII Extreme mb i7 6700k (OC'ed to 4.6ghz) GTX980 4gb video card 64gb memory(yea, I know.. overkill) Triple-Monitor(5760x1080) with a 4th touchscreen I am using the FSX CD + Acceleration Pack version. And I am running it as Dx 10 using Steve's DX10 Fixer. I have gone through Steve's 'How To' guide and set all the settings in my fsx.cfg. My gpu is maxed out at 99% most of the time, and I have my Affinity set to 254(1111 1110) and it seems to be using all cores except 0(Which is for Windows). So, that seems like it should be all ok, right? This seems to happen most when the view is of a long distance away. In the cockpit it doesn't happen too much. It happens more outside, and often the blue background sky goes black. I was thinking this might be because my graphics card was getting maxed out? So, I turned down the AA in NVI and also set Limited the Framerate to 30(aka 31 in fsx.cfg). None of this helped. So, now I was wondering if maybe I need to change my FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION=0.15 to something different. But I'm kind of shooting blind here. I don't really know.. Any help is greatly appreciated!! Thanks! Snacko The graphic corruption does not show up when I do a screen print. So, I had to take pics with my phone:- 12 replies

Does anyone know what, if any, setting will fix the flashing smoke coming from the two log cabins on approach at Juneau? The smoke seems to flash in sync with Orbx's custom approach alignment lights. I don't recall this issue in DX9.

Hi I find that when I have the landing lights dim when the panel lights are on. After turning on the panel lights the landing and taxi lights are again bright lights and inside the VC you can still see the landing lights. Darryl

Hello! Using FSX deluxe edition (not -SE) I have recently had some issues with soma "anty" textures on my terrain. It doesn't seem to affect addon scenery, but on the normal terrain there appears some boxes like those in the images. I can post my .cfg if necessary, just let me know in that case. Hi guys! I'm not exactly new, mostly been a lurker here and there researching lots, but by no means a new Flight-Sim'er. Big time commercial/large jet enthusiast, but no professional at all. But I seek all of you for your assistance! After lots of reading/research and trial and error, I have my FSX running beautifully, except for one minor issue. I have recorded a quick video of what I am experiencing on my YouTube. Basically, only at a couple of airports so far, I get this texture flicking nonsense and have no idea how to cure it. VID: https://youtu.be/lYbg1uro3sk (Direct Link to my youtube account) Here's my stats run-down: Version: FSX Deluxe Ed. SP2 DirectX10 P - Enabled - My PC runs FSX so much better in DX10 over DX9, so I am not really inclined to switch back. The issue isn't present to the same extent in DX10--Instead of flickering I get a huge framerate drop in DX9 in the same view position Graphics - pretty much maxed Add-ons relevant to issue: Ground Environment X FSX Modified Terrain CFG - via FlyAwaySimulation FSX2xWater - via FlyAwaySimulation FSX Ground Textures - via FlyAwaySimulation Roads v1.1 - ^same as above TreeX USA Ground Textures Upgrade - via FAS too Steve Parson's Shader Fix for DX10 Custom Built PC: Intel Core i7 4790k Devil's Canyon ASUS Maximus VII Motherboard G.Skill 16GBx4 RAM DDR3 MSI NVIDIA GTX670 4GB x2 running in SLI on latest drivers, clean install WD VelociRaptor HD 10k RPM I know the issue here is not my PC in hardware--it is a beast and like I said I have FSX nearly running perfect. But I experience this graphic issue. In the same exact camera POV in DX9, I get a huge framerate drop so something's wrong on both ends. In DX10, I get this weird anomaly. This is specifically at KEWR (Newark International Airport) and no matter where I am, at the gate or on the runway or in the region, I will get this. I also noticed it happens at Japan's Haneda International in Tokyo. Here's where it doesn't happen and all is well: I have been to KSLC Salt Lake City International, Seattle-Taco, KLAX, Heathrow, and Domodevovo in Moscow. It doesn't happen there. Can anyone help me here? I'm on my freshest install of FSX yet with all the processes clean and tweaked using that famous FSX Bible by NickN. And it still happened before all the tweaks and add-ons, and even on a previous install (that said, I tried reinstalling several times, clean and still get the issue). Any thing else for me to add please let me know. Trying to be as specific and detailed as possible since I've discovered many threads about "flickering" and Texture and graphics issues. I've sorted through them all and they all say that Steve Parson's DX10 Shader Fix is the solution. It's been added and still get it. Help! lol Thanks in advance!!!
