  1. G'day, I am currently trying to connect to my mate in the Majestic Q400, using Shared Cockpit. However, when we connect he says he sees a single bar of connection and I do not see any green bars, he can also pull switchs and move flight controls that I can see but I am not able to do any of that. This seems like there is a one way connection even though we have both port-forwarded, put the correct ports in the control panels. We tried each person as master and loaded into the same livery at the same location at airports. My mate is using FSX-SE and I am using Prepar3D if that makes any difference. Thanks.
  2. Hello, I bought a boxed version of your PMDG MD-11 and I have a little problem with it. I'm using Windows 8.1, so I already know that there are problems with disconnecting joysticks. But I was able to fix this bugs with a tool, so now: When I start a flight with the MD-11, after some seconds/minutes I can't control the throttle any more. This problem only appears with the MD-11 and only with the throttle, I'm still able to use the elevator or aileron. I hope for a helpful answer. Regards from Germany
  3. So when I start FSX from either my start menu or in the FSX Root folder as soon as the start screen pops up it says Microsoft Flight Sim Has stopped working. NOte that this is a new freshly installed copy of FSX Gold Edition and its legal i actually payed for it, not a torrent. There are no addons in the FSX root folder but what i did notice is in the, AppData>Roaming>Microsoft>FSX. there are only 3 files. I tried Repairing fsx with the CD but it didnt work. Please help!! The Three Files in the AppData folder are : dll.xml fsx.cfg navlog0 (Chrome HTML)
  4. Hello everyone: I know that some of you have had some interesting problems progressing and getting fixed rather sooner than later. But, I have came to a conclusion that some of you have been having lots of complaints of the PMDG 737-800/900 NGX N1 fan not being there, on not in the correct position. If that is the case, I have a solution that you should read below. Step 1: Select the NGX model that you plan to fly, or currently just want to fly around with; doesn't need to be a specific livery. Step 2: If the N1 fan is missing, or is not in place, just close (X) out of your FSX, Fs2004, FS9 screen, and restart the simulator. Or you could do what I tend to do every now and again; Select that plane, click "Fly now", and make sure that the model has the missing N1 blade fan. If it does so happen to be missing, just hit the button on the keyboard "ESC" and click "End Flight". Once that is done, click "Fly Now" once more and the problem should be fixed. This may happen quite a bit, but there may be some more patches and bug fixes coming out, because of how new these models are.

  6. Hello again, I have had real problems with Google Chrome web browser over the past 3 or 4 days not playing YouTube videos back properly. There was no audio, and the playback would freeze up after about 10 seconds. These same videos played back perfectly using Internet Explorer 9 or Firefox. I am posting this here on Avsim because I blew a ton of time discovering the 'fix' - and in the hopes of lessening someone else's pain - and wasted time. Some folks chose to "opt in" to the HTML5 player trial on YouTube, but any videos that had ADVERTISING EMBEDDED would NOT play back. Since I wanted to be able to view ALL YouTube content without interference, the HTML5 trial was a non-winning solution. The problem has to do with Google Chrome using automatic Flash updates - the 'latest' (Aug 3rd) Adobe Flash Player update has a 'bug' where 5.1 and 7.2 speaker playback within Windows 7 causes the Adobe Flash Player to crash in Google Chrome (freeze up after 10 seconds, or play back with NO AUDIO heard). The temp workaround is to go to your soundcard in Control Panel (properties) and change your sound card properties to STEREO SPEAKERS instead of 5.1 or 7.2 surround-sound speaker setup. Instantly, the 'troubles' are solved. I wouldn't want to bore anyone with all the troubleshooting I did (to no avail) prior to discovering this out on one of the Google Chrome forums. Let's just say as an IT manager, it was both nettlesome and embarrassing at the same moment. If you don't use Chrome, or you don't watch Videos from Mimeo or YouTube or some other sites within Chrome, you're already gone from this post. If you DO use Chrome I can recommend this as a good temporary solution 'for now' until Google engineers have their way with Adobe (maker of Flash). Of course if you are running a big dog surround audio system on your PC, you may not wish to forfeit that benefit for the sake of 'fixing' Chrome. In my case it was a non-issue, I only have stereo speakers and a subwoofer. For the record, I am a big fan of Chrome, partly because the 'sandbox' technology that Google employs within Chrome to protect against hackers is appealing to me. All things considered, I have been satisfied with Chrome for quite some time, though I also have IE and Firefox on my PC. Until this problem occurred, I regarded Chrome as 'bulletproof'. Sigh.
  7. Hi there please can anyone help me as every time i totally reinstall my 737 NGX and install any liverys my plane starts in a cold and dark with engines running and if i click anything in the cockpit it fatel errors. Also the 3 instruments next to the 2nd display are just black! HELP!!!
  8. Oops, my bad, should read 'On another positive note ...' - can't edit my topic title, I'm afraid! ( ) Is this true or is it just an Iljushin: I did a plethora of flights (two plethoras, to be precise ...) in the T7 without noticing any map integrity or ILS/autoland issues. As soon as I performed a flight in #3 of my most favoured planes of all times (MD-11) the FSX registry fix issue was back immediately . So my conclusion is the FSX registry entry was corrupted during my T7 flights already - but the T7 wasn't affected by that. Can anyone confirm that the registry repair stuff isn't an issue anymore with flights in the T7?!?
  9. Hi, Maybe PMDG could make this topic a sticky? What is the problem? If a scenery has landclass files (these define new shorelines, water bodies, etc..), and the corresponding scenery folder has a texture folder, it causes the landclass to leak memory. For reasons known only to ACES, the texture folder is accessed for no apparent reason (landclass can't have textures), and the resources allocated to do this are never freed, leaking memory. The memory leak itself is very small (a few hundred bytes) but it is the frequency and duration of these accesses that lead up to OOME/CTD when approaching an affected scenery area (FS attempts to access the texture folder in excess of 100 times per second). That's the theory... what about a fix? How easy it is to fix a particular scenery depends on the scenery designer, and whether they put LC somewhere within the file name of the file(s) that handle landclass. It might take a bit of trial and error to identify the scenery causing the leak, especially if you have multiple sceneries close together. Let's say you have: FSX\Addon Scenery\MyScenery Create another folder called: FSX\Addon Scenery\MySceneryLC In that folder create: FSX\Addon Scenery\MyScenery\scenery but do *NOT* create a texture folder!! This scenery folder will contain the landclass of the leaking scenery. Hopefully the scenery developer put LC somewhere in the name of the files that handle the landclass, so they are easy to identify. MOVE them out of the original folder (FSX\Addon Scenery\MyScenery\scenery) and into FSX\Addon Scenery\MySceneryLC\scenery Next, start FSX and add this new scenery area. Make sure it appears below the scenery it belonged to. Create seperate folders for all the scenery you have. Note that not all landclass are easy to identify. If you do this for all the landclass files you have installed, this will permanently fix this memory leak issue. Best regards, Robin.
  10. Hey peeps, So, please move this if it should be in the grafx cards section but it's quite general and not tech-related, really. It's a heads-up to Titan owners who want to send the card back! I just bought a GTX Titan as detailed in this post. I spent about four hours last night, whilst watching my cricket team get humiliated by the Aussies, testing various scenarios, as I was about to start crying and throw away my whole rig and give up FSX for ever, I was that confused and disillusioned after spending what I could have bought a second-hand car with on a grafx card (draama!) I couldn't get rid of the stuttering no matter what I tried. I used all forms of cfg, both DX9 and DX10, v3 shaders no shaders, sliders up and down. Weather and no weather - Nada. This is not right, I told myself. I have a graphics card which can make coffee, what is going on? I looked logically at it. All my problems seemed to revolve around heavy autogen and clouds, but it seemed to make very little difference if I turned them down! Anywhere else and it was super-smooth. It was such a regular per-frame stutter that I thought something else is limiting this card. What could it be? Duh! What if, I thought, I was limiting the card by telling it to "slow down" using FR limits in FSX, so I set FR to unlimited. OMG! It worked! I was seeing between 26-37FPS everywhere Hmm, I thought..someone on another thread I can't find now talked about using external limiters, so I tried the one in NVI. Nothing. No difference. It still veered between 28-34. DXTORY has a limiter, I thought (and it is the best for vids imo). I fired that up and BANG!! I now get absolutely locked frames at 30FPS everywhere. Literally, everywhere. All sliders to the right. Full 4096 textures, hi-def planes like 777 and RealAir. So, if you have a Titan and it is underwhelming you - set it free! (it kicks a** in P3Dv2 as well ) best jake
  11. Hi guys, First of all thank you for taking your time reading this. Ok so i just purchased the Saitek X52 Pro but i am unable to make it work properly on P3D V3. I have look around everywhere and the little information i had found is only for p3d v2.X. I went into saitek website to download the MFD plugin but it says it is for p3d v2. There is nothing in their forum that mentions P3D v3 at all. Im just wondering if you guys have any work around to install it manually using the P3D v2 installation. Let me mention that i try installing it using the v2 one and the gauge does not show on the Sim to control the MFD. Also it would be nice just to have some directions on how to add a gauge manually.
  12. thanks to some one on the aivlasoft forums he found the cause of the problem that makes the aivlasoft efb disblay unit unable to start the cause of the problem was the aerosoft airbus fonts so I copied his solution as he posted it on the forum so the credit for solving this problem goes back to him not me I copied the Airbus True Type fonts to another folder for safe keeping. Then, I deleted them in my fonts folder. The fonts include: AirbusDisp.ttf AIrbusDisp2.ttf AirbusFCU.ttf AirbusISIS.ttf AirbusMCDUa.ttf AirbusMCDUb.ttf AirbusPFD.ttf AirbusPFD2.ttf EDIT: It's the AirbusPFD.ttf and AirbusPFD2.ttf fonts that cause the issue. Adding either (or both) of these fonts bring the problem back. Any of the other Airbus fonts are OK. I can confirm that the DU now runs on the Windows 10 UPGRADE. It did not run before deleting the files. THANK YOU FOR THE FIND!!
  13. Hello, I recently bought EzDok and had a few issues with it to start with however I did a re-install and everything was ok. Today on a flight from EGSS to EDDW my Ezdok keys stopped working but i could still move my mouse. The keys worked when I opened the ezdok window though but i couldnt move in the sim. I reinstalled and everything seemed to be ok. But just now it has happened again! I am on FSX (boxed) and i'm using EzDok version 1.18.7
  14. I know how to create a distance ring for any waypoint using the FIX page on the CDU. I want to create a ring that extends 30nm from TOD. Is it possible to do it easily and directly, or do I have to create a waypoint that's close to TOD and then assign the ring to that waypoint? I tried "T/D" and "TOD" on LSK1 but those are invalid entries, as I thought they would be. I've searched on Google and this forum, but have not found an answer. Thanks!
  15. Have you heard of the DNS Changer Malware threat? Are you infected? DCWG reports; "On November 8, the FBI, the NASA-OIG and Estonian police arrested several cyber criminals in “Operation Ghost Click”. The criminals operated under the company name “Rove Digital”, and distributed DNS changing viruses, variously known as TDSS, Alureon, TidServ and TDL4 viruses." DCWG continues; "The botnet operated by Rove Digital altered user DNS settings, pointing victims to malicious DNS in data centers in Estonia, New York, and Chicago. The malicious DNS servers would give fake, malicious answers, altering user searches, and promoting fake and dangerous products. Because every web search starts with DNS, the malware showed users an altered version of the Internet. Under a court order, expiring July 9, the Internet Systems Consortium is operating replacement DNS servers for the Rove Digital network. This will allow affected networks time to identify infected hosts, and avoid sudden disruption of services to victim machines." This protection comes to an end in July, and if your machine is infected with the Malware, you could loose your internet connection for a period of time. As of this writing, over 350,000 machines remain infected. To check to see if your machine is inflicted with the malware, and to fix it if it is, please go to the DCWG Site here.
  16. I have windows XP 64BIT I also have Air hauler and and off course FS9, Everything was working beutifully, I have been lots of jobs within Air hauler with no problems whatsoever (By the way i have Flight Simulator 9 installed on an external drive.) Ok now to get to my problem, well I decided to split my Hardrive into 2 partitions Using Acronis Disk manager, After reducing the Volume and recreating a second Partition i Installed windows 7 64bit (NOTE: The first partion is still in place and has windows XP 64bit with Fs9 still installed i did not touch that partition i only installed Windows 7 on the newly created partition) Now when i dual boot and boot into my original XP 64bit Partition everything works find but when i launch air hauler i get this error (FSUIPC Is not instaled) Funny thing is i look at the status through FS9 And FSUIPC Is installed and registered with Wide FS. i go into The main FS9 directory and the FSUIPC DLL is there along with the FSUIPC.INI And FSUIPC.KEY
  17. Hello to everybody! I've got a small problem which i don't seem to get a proper solution for, and believe me i searched on every flightsim forum possible to try to get a solution, and nothing seems to come up. I'm pretty sure the solution is so simple, that it's breaking my head for days... (The most frustrating part is that i dont get this in any other airport, JUST LEBB! Before i didnt had this case, i've been flying in and out of LEBB for quite a few times. To answer your hidden question: Yes, i know how to land with ILS...) Here we go: As i approach LEBB, i get ILS RWY 30 Approach from ATC. (4.400 is the ILS intercept altitude for this airport.) I hear the morse code from the ILS, (Frequency is 110.30) as it's activated in NAV1 on my radio. Then it comes, the 'pink diamond' on the right 'comes down' slowly, (approach speed as normal 148-152 knots, Flaps 30 - Boeing 737-800) reaches the center, but doesn't turn off my ALT-knob!! Then the 'pink diamond' falls all the way down, and ILS approach is screwed up. So in the end the ILS RWY 30 Approach changes into a Visual Approach. My Question now is: How to fix this? What goes wrong? Why ILS RWY30 doesn't turn off my ALT-knob so i can do a normal ILS approach as in for ex. LEBL, LEVC, LECO, LEST or any other airport in the world? For all of you professional i leave you down here my AFCAD behind, which i changed just a little to add an ILS Approach to RWY 10, which offcourse in real-life doesn't exist because of the mountains around LEBB airport. (The problem existed though before i added this ILS Approach) Here is the official AFCAD (+ ILS RWY 10) from Tropicalsim (zipped): http://www.4shared.com/zip/ENX4jG4R/AF2_LEBB.html I'm completely desperate, because, as i said, it might be such a easy solution, but maybe i'm not able to see it. ("Can't see the trees because there's a forest in front", we would say in Holland...) Anyone who could provide me with a solution or better, send me back the AFCAD and kick my "rear end" for having missed out something important, is welcome. (Be gentle and respectfull, though...) Big shouts out to everyone on this forum, you guys are the ones that make the troubleshooting part of the flightsimming a headache less, and together we're more worth: All for one, One for All! Thanks in advance, Keep up the Good Work, Grtz, Co-Pilot Diego
  18. This panel fixes the out of sync PFD and replaces the MFD with the F1 GTN 750, and is for version 2.1 of the Carenado SR22 GTSX Turbo. For the MFD, the first soft key will toggle the trim/engine tab on the sidebar. The second (from the left) activates direct-to on the GTN unit. The right arrow button just below the Nav dial will open the 2D GTN. The default MDD has been disabled as it causes major issues with the link to the PFD. The installation method that I am using does not overwrite any files and can be easily undone if needed. If you do not want to edit any files, rename the panel folder from panel.gtn to just panel and replace the files in your install directory. Installation: 1. Copy the panel.gtn folder into your sr22 install folder (this may be different if you use the addon.xml method): ...Prepar3D v4\SimObjects\Airplanes\Carenado SR22_GTSX_Turbo\ 2. Edit your aircraft.cfg to activate the new panel. Each livery has its own [flightsim.x] entry in the config. Where it says panel= change the entry to panel=gtn. You must do this for every livery that you wish to change. example: Images (top image is non-gtn fix): https://imgur.com/a/tDWohDU Link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1JwXMpE85-Njehmk2Ss8-Kzf93GlH2rnr/view?usp=sharing

  20. How does one add a custom user fix to X-Plane 11 for use the Garmin 530 GPS flight plan function? From what I have manged to find on the internet so far, it appears that editing the earth_fix.dat file is strongly discouraged. You are supposed to use the map. I am unable to find any function to add or save my own fixes. What am I missing? Can this actually be done?
  21. Hi, i already got 4.4 on my pc. but now i have this problem with horizon texture. Here my problem. Thx for your help.
  22. Hello, This is a list of the less known / hard to find fixes to little bugs in FSX sp2. 1) Texture.cfg: In the "SimObjects" folder of FSX, you will find a lot of objects used the simulator. Each one having a "texture" subfolder. In these "texture" folders there is a 'texture.cfg' file. In this file, the line "fallback.3=..\..\..\..\..\..\Scenery\Global\texture" should be corrected as: fallback.3=..\..\..\..\Scenery\Global\texture 2) Missing models: In the "SimObjects\GroundVehicles" folder, 2 vehicles are incorrect: - "VEH_air_firetruck_sm" is missing the "model" folder completely. Anyway, it is the same vehicle as "Veh_firetruck_sm". To fix: remove the "VEH_air_firetruck_sm" folder, and add this section in the "sim.cfg" file of the "Veh_firetruck_sm" folder: [fltsim.1] title=VEH_air_firetruck_sm model= texture= - "Veh_Land_Car_Mini3_Junker_sm" is missing the "model" folder and the "sim.cfg" file. To fix: copy the "model" folder and the "sim.cfg" file from "Veh_Car_Mini3_Junker_sm". Edit the "sim.cfg" file so as the line "title=Veh_Car_Mini3_Junker_sm" reads: title=Veh_Land_Car_Mini3_Junker_sm - As a bonus, you can remove the "Textures" (with an 's') folder from "VEH_tractorCab" because it's useless. 3) When FSX loads, it looks for a file called "msgothic.ttf". This file is in the "Fonts" folder of FSX, but its name is "msgothic.ttc". To fix: just make a copy of "msgothic.ttc" and rename it "msgothic.ttf". These are the ones I know of, you're welcome to add yours.
  23. Hi everyone. First I have to say sorry for my bad english. When I fly on pmdg 737ngx, all displays go black. They are black like when battery is off and I can't fix it by switching battery off and on or anything like this. Autopilot continues flight on VNAV and LNAV, following the route and VNAV path normally, but all 6 displays are black. Only FMCs and secondary pfd are okay. Sometimes it happens to me on pmdg 777. I have pmdg 737ngx and 777 both SP1D and FSX acceleration. Any solution? Many thanks
  24. Downloaded from the Flight Sim Store (v1.3) yesterday and was suprised that it worked rather well with the VRS Superbug, only thing is the FLIR does not work in DX-10 mode but that is a minor issue as I can target through the ground radar, etc. I find that setting buffer pools to zero or having the reject thresh-hold at 256 and Sparse 4x SS the best for frames! Other minor gitches are when panning around I get momentary black tiles and obljects that are black for a short time before they get refreshed (re-darawn) with the appropraite texture color.. but this can be avoided by not panning around so much.. hehe One more thing... I like the way you can pop open the SteveDX10 Fixit app and switch between DX10 and DX9 on the fly with a push of the button :-)
