Here is a set of comparison shots of the VC. The first one is the TI4600, note the difference in the readability of the gauges. Of course the quality has been decreased quite a bit by resizing and shrinking the file size of the pics but you can see the difference.Philip Olsonhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/90103.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/90104.jpg

Looks to me like the Anti-Aliasing setting has been changed.Clearly noted in the above picture(above the wing).-NavneetAMD Athlon XP 1700+ (overclocked to 1.9Ghz)ATI Radeon 9600 128MB - Anti-Aliasing 6x512MB SD Kingston RAMWestern Digital30 GB - Seagate 8.4GBHp CD12 CDRW - Pioneer DVD ROMConnect3D Radeon 9600 128MBLG Flatron 775FT 17' MonitorCreative SBLive! Believe it or not no setting has been changed, settings were exactly the same when both sets of shots were taken. With the TI4600 I had jaggies no matter what I did, sometimes they were more noticable then others though. I can tell you that when I reduced the size of these pics the jaggies became more apparent than they were in the original pic with a resolution of 1280 X 960. I don't know why there is so much of a difference but there is, even with the same settings. With the TI4600 I was begining to wonder if the AA was working when I was seeing other screen shots posted here but if I changed settings things did change. Oh well another mystery.Philip Olsonhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpg

Yea, I agree with JS,The picture has a much smoother render; I'm very glad and exited for you!Something about the FPS and the smoothness... you know if you buy the very best graphics card that is in the market, your FPS wont get higher than a number; As I'm sure you know, so many things in a computer are dependant on each other. If you have the best Graphics Card and not that good of a CPU, then even though your graphics card can do a fabulous job, you still won

I am curious- what processor speed and the amount of ram are you using? Thanks!Richard

I have p4 1.9mhz with 512 mb ram...just wondering if i would have the same improvment if switch my ti4600 128mb for a card like yours...my screenshots look much like your old ones. Thanks,Richard

Hi, Philip:Just wanted to check-in with you on your new vid card after a few days. Are you still very pleased with the improved performance? Is it still something to go out and buy for a mid-range price? Thanks!JS

Well to tell you the truth I hate that I got it right now. :-lol Since I am in Germany right now and I can't use it, I am stuck with the crappy graphics on my lap top! To really answer your question, yes I still love that card, for me it has been a great move as I have gotten improvements in both visual and performance in FS9. I am sure that like anything it will vary based on your own setup but it is a big improvement over what I had. One down side was that I was unable to get my E Dimensional glasses to work, I only tried for a couple of minutes and I was using mismatched drivers so I really did not expect them to anyway. I will try to get them working when I get back home. It is funny, I am so close but yet so far, I am actually logged onto my computer at home right now using something like PC Anywhere so I am actually seeing my home desktop and using it's resources, too bad I could not just fire up FS9 and be able to see it as if I was really there! :-lol Well in closing I'll just say that so far there is nothing that I do not like about that card, I would say that it is a good move for anyone that wants a moderately priced improvement over thier TI4600 series and older cards.Philip Olsonhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpg

Philip:Thanks again for replying and at length. Sounds like a "sale!" to me.JS
