I love flying in FS9, but something is beginning to bother me, the ATC. Does anyone know of an add-on or fix that can upgrade the ATC? I would like to see the whole ATC experience (i.e. clearance, RAMP, ground, etc.), but my internet connection isn't stable enough for VATsim and like services. I have been trying to find an add-on that provides a good, accurate experience and interacts with the AI a/c to provide proper spacing on approaches, but with no luck. I'm really getting to like Radar Contact for the much more realistic approach procedures, but it's not going to help with traffic separation, at least the current version. I hear that the next version promises to do more with the AI. Until then I usually just go into the world/time dialog when I'm on final. This resets the AI traffic and clears the way in. :) Also works nicely when there's a long line of planes waiting to depart.Mark Kuebeler

The dev however told me it might be wiser to wait with ordering until version 4 is released, which might be anywhere between now and the beginning of next year... The new version also interacts with the AI (v3 only talks to you) and hopefully does a better job on traffic separation. You can of course buy v3 now, but the upgrade pricing won't be adjusted for people who JUST bought the game, so this might become an expensive thing... I decided to wait for v4...

I have been thinking about getting better ATC since I got FS9. I am not excited by Vatsim as I had a great deal of experience years agot with on line ATC and didn't care for it. Controllers would disappear, not be available when you wanted to fly. etc..I am gong to order Radar Contact as that seems to be the best choice available today. There is a 100+ page owners manual on their web site that you can download and read and it is very well written.
