Manual No 07, Cockpit and Systems - enough info?

Featured Replies

700-700NG mauals:The number 7 manual is very concise and tells you what this switch and that display is called. And that's OK of course! But what I really need is a little more general information about the different functions of these switches, displays etc etc. Something like the info made by Wilco for the 767 Pilot In Command.Where can I find this information? I would like to tell the members of the PMDG group that they have made a marvelous aircraft with lots of hours of fun and learning (and lots of frustration too, - you have to learn a lot to get the bird alive!!...;-) ).But in the same time I would appriciate that the team made a suplement manual for the "Cockpit and System" with some generel information about the different panels, switches etc etc. When you are a newbie to jets its an awfull lot of information that you really do not understand very well, because you need some "background-knowledge". I'm looking forward to such a more "generel information"-manual kind of thing!!And once again - right now - Where can I find this kind of information? (links, books, magazines, reviews?)CheersLars FrederiksenDenmark

Hello Lars, welcome on board. Here some Information I still use.Try this link.http://www.b737.org.uk/index.htm Search a liitle bit and you will find in the download section a link to a very complet operation manual. I also use bil bulfers flightdeck companion and his fmc guide. The books are not cheap but a lot of usefull Information. I am every day impresed, how real the pmdg systems work.Greetings from Germany (EDDT)Stefan

Hi Stefan,Thanks for your answer. I'll consider to buy Bil Bulfer's Flightdeck Companion. And I'll post my wish to the PDMG-group.Cheers Lars

>Search a liitle bit and you will find in the download section>a link to a very complet operation manual. Can't find it... Do you have a more precise link for this manual?

Hi, here is the link.http://www.b737.org.uk/737links.htmThere in the section unofficial an link to a very complete manual CheersStefan

Hi. I'm not sure I agree with the concept that PMDG should write a general jet operations guide. As said, there are several excellent works out there that fill this need. PMDG should write the user's guide for their awesome simulation, but I don't think they should have to describe concepts of how jets work. Just my opinion.

I would have liked more indepth information on the aircraft systems also. Something more like the manual for Dreamfleet's Greatest Airliners. I don't think the current info takes anything away from the product. PMDG is just a great and very fun aircraft to fly. You can just fly it for fun like any default FS9 aircraft or get as real as you can handle with it. I have gathered the missing info from the net and from buying books like Bill Bulfer's 737NG Cockpit Companion. In my opinion a must have for realistic flights. I will get the FMC guide for sure. My wife thinks I am nuts of course but then what else is new. I think she will shoot me if I spent the money on those tech manuals... and she finds out.Ray
