Can't reach www.precisionmanuals.com

Featured Replies

Hi!For the last couple of days I haven't been able to reach www.precisionmanuals.com. I have tried from two different computers with different Swedish broadband connections (Bostream and Sunet) but i always get a connection timeout. As I can see no other posts about people having this problem, I suspect that there either is a routing problem or that IP adresses from certain swedish networks is banned by PMDG:s web hotel for an unknown reason.I have tried to do a traceroute from both computers and get the following results (showing only the last hops).Bostream: 10 48 ms 47 ms 48 ms so-3-0-0.mp1.London2.Level3.net [212.187.128.46] 11 115 ms 116 ms 115 ms as-0-0.bbr2.Washington1.Level3.net [4.68.128.102] 12 147 ms 147 ms 147 ms so-0-0-0.bbr2.Dallas1.Level3.net [64.159.0.137] 13 148 ms 147 ms 147 ms so-6-0.ipcolo2.Dallas1.Level3.net [4.68.112.186] 14 150 ms 150 ms 150 ms ci-cdc01-gige.level3.net [4.78.224.10] 15 * * * Request timed out.Sunet:14: so-3-0-0.mp1.London2.Level3.net (212.187.128.46) asymm 15 43.764ms 15: as-0-0.bbr2.Washington1.Level3.net (4.68.128.102) asymm 16 116.541ms 16: so-0-0-0.bbr2.Dallas1.Level3.net (64.159.0.137) asymm 17 148.875ms 17: so-6-0.ipcolo2.Dallas1.Level3.net (4.68.112.186) 148.263ms 18: ci-cdc01-gige.level3.net (4.78.224.10) asymm 19 151.389ms 19: no replyIt seems like both network operators use the same routing (via Level3) and the connection is "broken" at the same place for both. Are there any others having this problem? If not, are you routed differently than me? EDIT:Did some more testing and it seems like I can't reach any web site hosted by C I Host (www.cihost.com).

No problem here. Working fine. Just opened it.

I got the same problem, dont know why....?!?!?!

This is strange... Jonas, I guess you are from Sweden as well? What Internet Service Provider do you use?Word Not Allowed (or anyone else able to reach the web site - preferrably from Sweden or Northern Europe), could you please post a traceroute? The last hops will be enough, if you don't want to expose your IP adress. If the last part of the routing is the same (Level3 etc..) for those of you having success as for us with problems, I guess it is some kind of IP range blocking problem at the company hosting PMDG:s web site. If the routing is different, it might be a problem with a router somewhere (Dallas, TX?).

This is really odd - I can reach the website but I get the same timeout problem when I am using tracert (at the same server) - potentially could this be the way that server is configured (I know that traceroute can be disabled) and you have some other issue? 4 19 ms 18 ms 23 ms 195.50.117.105 5 19 ms 22 ms 18 ms ae-0-53.bbr1.London1.Level3.net [212.187.131.129] 6 19 ms 32 ms 29 ms so-3-0-0.mp1.London2.Level3.net [212.187.128.46] 7 92 ms 91 ms 103 ms as-0-0.bbr2.Washington1.Level3.net [4.68.128.102] 8 123 ms 127 ms 128 ms so-0-0-0.bbr2.Dallas1.Level3.net [64.159.0.137] 9 126 ms 131 ms 123 ms so-6-0.ipcolo2.Dallas1.Level3.net [4.68.112.186] 10 127 ms 127 ms 126 ms ci-cdc01-gige.level3.net [4.78.224.10] 11 * * * Request timed out.

I am in UK btw

You are all getting the timeout because the ISP hosting the PMDG website, for security reasons, has blocked their internal routers from returning information for TRACERT. It is common practice and many hosting organizations do this.As far as accessing the site, I am having no problems and I included a download.

Ok, I've now tested with another ISP (Telia) from my parents' computer and from there I had no problems with PMDG:s web site. I tried doing a traceroute as well and got the "usual" timeout, so I guess your assumption about the server blocking traceroute information is correct.Comparing the tracerout logs, what's interesting is that although Telia seem to use their own Atlantic connection via New York rather than Level3 via Washington, the last part of the traceroute log (Dallas1.Level3.net etc.) before the timeout is identical with my previous attempts at home. This makes me believe that at least the routing is working fine, but I am no expert so I can't be sure...Maybe the cause of the problem is some kind of IP adress blocking after all? I tried to contact CI Host by e-mail (the default e-mail adress published in the whois directory) a couple of days ago but haven't got a response yet - maybe they are blocking my e-mail as well ;-)Could someone from PMDG please have a look at this?

Hej! Jag bor i Sverige och har bosteram och samma problem!!!!Jag har testat p

I want to get in to ther site NOW!!! I need to be "online" to download ther upcoming 747!Is ther any way to fix this???http://www.malmoaviation.se/images/general/logo.gifCaptain Jonny, flying Malm

It depends on what the cause of the problem is - don't know for sure yet.If the cause is some kind of IP adress blocking i guess the only one who can fix it is the company hosting PMDG:s web site (C I Host, I think). I've e-mailed them, but got no response. Let's hope that PMDG can put some pressure on them. I recall that there were some problems a couple of months ago when e-mail from PMDG:s customers in New Zeeland was blocked. If it is a routing problem, it is probably more difficult. I talked to Bostream support last Saturday, but they didn't think they could do anything, as the problem lies in the United States, beyond their control. Again, it might be a matter for C I Host to deal with.Anybody have the phone number to the person in charge of the Internet? ;-)

yes, Im from Sweden and Im using Bostream....

Hi All,Well here the problem seems to be persistent aswell. I guess my cookies are messed up! Search and maybe you

I don't think this is a cookie problem, at least not for me.Any chance your ISP is Bostream (Sweden) as well?
