Featured Replies

Hi all,I've been flying the PMDG Boeing 737NG for quite a while now and I wanted to change somthing to a Colour Scheme of the Boeing 737-700, bit after I did this in Paint, I can only save the image in 24 bit, and I need 32 bit to let the Colour Scheme work. Who can help me?Michael "Flightfreak" Henke

You need a program that can edit a 32 bit targa file, and you need ImageTool (part of FS2004 SDK)Using ImageTool covert the 32 bit BMP file to a 32 bit TGAThen edit it using a program that can edit a 32 Bit Targa File (PaintShop Pro, Photoshop)Convert image back to a 32 Bit BMP using ImageToolBest,Vin ScimonePMDGwww.precisionmanuals.comhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/devteam.jpg

But how do I create the 32 Bit BMP file, thank you for all the extra information, but I want to know how I can create the 32 bit BMP file. Thanks in advance!Michael "Flightfreak" Henke

Michael,As Vin stated, you need to use Imagetool which can be found on the FS2004 SDK and in the utility folder of FS2002. With this tool you would save your TGA file in 32 bit format as a BMP file. All of this is accomplished from the Imagetool menus. You edit your file in 24 bit mode and save in 32 bit.

That would be only possible by using any good image editing program. If you're using MSPaint or something the task wouldn't be impossible to get the same kind of image back but it would be helluva long and complicated. If you have Photoshop or Paintshop Pro, just do as suggested above. And then save whatever yo edited to a 32bit TGA and then imagetool to convert to bmp (no special changes here except saving as .bmp)If you save as a 24bit bmp, you will lose alpha and may cause your textures not to appear but even if they magically do they will show up totally distorted. If you have no choice but to lose alpha (ie save as only 24bit, if using MSPaint or alike) then there's the pretty darn long way. IF you want to know about it just post here and i give it to you straight up, too uch to post now .. too late too .. :(
