-800 Installation

Featured Replies

I apologize as I expect this topic has probably been covered before but I was unable to locate a reference in a forum search. I downloaded -800/900 and I have -600/700 v.1.3 installed in my FS2002 aircraft folder. When I attempted to install -800 (intended for FS9) I get a message stating that I must have -600/700 installed to continue and the installation stops.I saw that the 800 readme says to reinstall 600/700 if there is an installation problem with 800. I do not want to try and do that without consultation first as I would hate to uninstall 600/700 and not be able to re-install it thus creating an even worse problem for myself.Do I need to have -600/700 also installed in FS9? And if so, can I simply copy and paste the aircraft folder from FS2002?Also- when I looked for 600/700 in my add/remove programs listing it does not appear though the manuals do. Therefore, even if I DO go with an uninstall, I am not exactly sure how I would even go about it without the program showing up in that list.Any help appreciated (as always!)Roger Curtiss

Hi Roger,>>>Do I need to have -600/700 also installed in FS9? And if so, can I simply copy and paste the aircraft folder from FS2002?800/900 is an FS9-only product, and will look for specific information in the registry to determine if the PMDG 737 base product is also installed (and updated) to FS9 prior to installing.Best,Vin ScimonePMDGwww.precisionmanuals.comhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/devteam.jpg

Vin:Thanks for the speedy response. This brings up new questions, however. I cannot locate the original -600/700 file that I used to install the program to FS2k2,I may have moved it to my recycle bin after extracting the files and the bin has been emptied since then. Therefore, I am in the dark as to how I can install the -600/700 files into FS9. I tried to utilize the download password I received last April when I installed -600/700 but it does not presently point to the 600/700 file being available for me to download.I don't want to screw anything up and I am assuming it is possible to have -600/700 installed on FS2k2 and FS9...or is that erroneous? And if it is wrong, then how exactly CAN I move the program from FS2k2 to FS9?Your guidance is appreciated very much. Thanks,Roger Curtiss
