Visual eye point adjustments

Featured Replies

Hi guys........I was wondering if there is a way to adjust visual eye points in the 2D cockpit. I find that I see too much structure of the cockpit and not enough outside view during certain phases of flight. This was really obvious last night when I was flying the VOR 13L visual approach into KJFK. The approach requires you to do a change in course from 041 to about 130 at low altitude. The problem I had was that I had real problems visually acquiring the runway during the banked right turn because all I saw was the right co pilots glare shield. I needed the glare shield to be lower and raising the seat doesn't work when looking 45 degrees right or left.I even notice the problem taxiing and can't see close in taxiways when panning right or left. I don't use the virtual cockpit because I can't with my Suncom HOTAS setup...for some reason I can't get it. Raising the seat works great only in straight ahead views, and the landing view doesn't improve things because when viewing out 45 degrees right or left, the same default view is seen. Any ideas?Cheeers......Joe Swier

This is not supported, so with that out of the way and clear here is what you can do. Open up the 800 panel folder and open the PANEL CFG. Scroll down a little to this(VIEWS)VIEW_FORWARD_WINDOWS=20,21,22,23,24VIEW_FORWARD_DIR=3.5,0.0,0.0 Change the 3.5 to a higher number. The higher the more runway you can see. This will affect ALL forward panels. For the side 2D views just do the same thingVIEW_FORWARD_RIGHT_WINDOWS=30VIEW_FORWARD_RIGHT_DIR=1.7, 0.0, 45VIEW_RIGHT_WINDOWS=34VIEW_RIGHT_DIR=2.4, 0.0, 90VIEW_REAR_RIGHT_WINDOWS=35VIEW_REAR_WINDOWS=36VIEW_REAR_LEFT_WINDOWS=33VIEW_LEFT_WINDOWS=32VIEW_LEFT_DIR=2.6, 0.0, 270VIEW_FORWARD_LEFT_WINDOWS=31VIEW_FORWARD_LEFT_DIR=2.7, 0.0, 315VIEW_DOWN_WINDOWS=37VIEW_DOWN_DIR=11.0, 0.0, 0.0Anything you see with DIR in the line is what you are after..Best Wishes,[h4]Randy J. Thank you Randy!!!!!!!!!This is a great forum! I will make the adjustments and away I go! This change is going make a big change for me, as I like to do visual approaches in the 737 because they really challenge me. The VOR13L/R at KFJK and Expressway Viz to Rwy 13 KLGA are amazingly difficult to fly in a sim but very rewarding when you get them right. I enjoy going out to the airports in real life and watch the pros fly the approaches. Amazing what they can do with a plane at low alts.Cheers Randy and thanks!Joe Swier
