October 16, 200421 yr Hello All,I'm wanting to fly into LOWI/Innsbruck. Charts can be found here;http://www.flightsim.com/cgi/kds?$=main/howto/inns/inns.htmWhat I want to know is, for the LLZ/DME 26 am I right in think if you're not visual by 3680' you go around? If so, what happens if you are visual then at around 100' radio alt you have to go around, what procedure do you fly? Many Thanks,Paul
October 16, 200421 yr Commercial Member Hi Paul, the charts on that website are specially created for SAS. I guess they have higher minimums for their fleet (B737 minimum is either 4550 or 5000 ft). The legal minimums are:3930 ft if the minimum MA climb gradient is 4.0% or4470 ft if the minimum MA climb gradient is 3.1% If you are not visual at the latest by 3930 ft ( that means before RUM beacon), you have to go around. In that case you'll proceed on course 255 til 1 DME before OEV, make a steep left turn direct to AB and proceed outbound. If you are visual at 3930 ft, and continue your approach, and then later decide to go around, you will have to fly a visual circuit (left hand) and then proceed with the standard GA procedure. There are a couple of special circling procedure for LOWI which aren't on the chart. I believe you can get the missing charts from www.vacc-sag.orgGood luck,MarkPS make sure you are slow and dirty when tracking the LOC. Things happen real quick!Edit: minima's revised Mark Foti Author of aviaworx - https://www.aviaworx.com
