October 25, 200421 yr Yes. It is on the Radio panel. Turn the switch to the left of the transponder to turn it on and then to make it show on the display click the TFC button (I think?) at the top of the instrument panel to the left of the autopilot.-Ryan

October 26, 200421 yr Long as we are talking about TACS, I have a question that has been bothering me for awhile. Being a technical person, I was wondering how the TCAS decides to tell your aircraft if it should climb or descend since it doesn't know what the other aircraft is going to do. In other words, if both planes have TCAS, are the 2 TCAS units talking to each other and making a decision as to which goes up and which goes down, or is it just a guess by the unit that is in your plane?
October 26, 200421 yr Definitely not a guess...I can't remember exactly, it's been awhile since I read it. But the two planes "talks" to each other and then decides that one should go up and the other down. It's probably more complicated than that, but like I said I can't really remember right now, but it's not a guess.
October 26, 200421 yr I was wondering how the TCAS decides to tell your aircraft if it should climb or descend since it doesn't know what the other aircraft is going to do. It works with BOTH (well in RL that is) so that one is given a CLIMB etc and the other a DESCEND command. Of course it is much more complex than this simple answer. It does take into account all the varibles like ROC-ROD currect altitudes etc. If two planes are climbing and will cross each other's path TCAS might give a hold currect rate or increase climb rate to the other.Best Wishes,[h4]Randy J.
