737 Series Texture Loading Problem

Featured Replies

I am having a problem with 737 seruies texture loading. If I select an aircraft from the list, sometimes the textures load and sometimes they don't. At other times, only partial textures load. For example, the tail and engines might be OK but the fuselage is blank. At other times , everything looks OK but when I switch between cockpit and exterior views, the aircraft textures may or may not show up.This happened rather suddenly. I'd been flying the 737-6/7/8/900 for several days in various liveries (all from the PMDG website) without a hitch then, last evening, this problem showed up. The problem is only with the PMDG 737 series. All of my other aircraft are fine. Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks............noell

This problem has come up a few times in the past and is typically a driver or settings issue. What video card do you have and have you downloaded and installed the latest drivers?

Thanks for the prompt response, George.I try most drivers as they come along. I'm currently using version 61.11 with my FX 5950 card as, even though there are later drivers, I like the performance I get with 61.11. What puzzles me is that everthing was fine with the 737 series until yesterday and I made no changes to my system (driver or otherwise). However, I will try a later driver. I was about to try version 66.81 today anyway. Will let you know. Thanks again,.......noellSystem---------MB: ASUS P4C800E-DeluxeCPU: Intel P4 - 3.2GHz (OC

Ok. Changed to the 66.81 driver version but it made no difference. However, I think I've fixed my problem. Could having Render To Texture selected cause this probelem?I de-selected and now all seems fine.I've been running the sim for a long time with Render To Texture selected. Why it would suddenly cause a problem is a mystery to me.But, if it fixes the problem, I'll leave it off.Your comments would be appreciated..Thanks,...noell

This similar thing started on my installation too. I change planes which looks fine in the launch screen but when the game opens sometimes I get the previous aircraft. These would all be PMDG aircraft. Also, when FS opens I sometimes catch a glimpse of the aircraft that had been flown in the previous session overlaying the default. Something hanging in the cache? This has just started recently.Terry

Terry,Try launching FS9 without your current FS9 config file. Go to the location of your FS9 config file, change the extension to .bak then launch FS9. Flight Sim should now make a new config file. Launch the NG and see if you still see the problem. If all is well you can open you're old config file and copy over any changes you've made previously to your new config file. Post your results.

Thanks Pete - We'll give it a try.Terry
