October 27, 200421 yr i thought that I had cracked programing my 737 NG from departure to arrival on the FMC only to find that when I call up ATC to land, i'm directed to a different runway. My question is,'Can I call up ATIS of my Arrival Airport during my approach, or before, so that I will have adequate time to reprogram my Arrival procedure on the FMC?' Thank You Marty
October 27, 200421 yr Yes you can and you should! :)When creating the flight plan in FS click in the map view the destination airport and it will display all the frequencies (tower aproach, ATIS, and ILS runways) just take the note of the ATIIS freq and about 50nm prior to the airport tuni in in the com radio. This should give you enough time to prepare the landing. Also you can guess the general direction of the landing thru the wind direction arrow in the ND.
October 27, 200421 yr If you get active sky you can also tune flightwatch on 122.0 and get the current weather for your arrival airport no matter how far away you are. Bob K.
