October 30, 200421 yr Hi,Last week i upgraded from the GeForce 3 Ti200 to the Radeon 9600 XT.Major difference! Very nice framerates now.But...there is a problem, and it seems to be getting worse all the time.Ever since i installed the new card i see different fonts (Characters? English is not my native tongue) in the autopilot (mcp), fmc, a.i. aicraft labels and a couple of other places. I don't like them but that is not the problem. Today i didn't get the fs brake message anymore (the red thing at the bottom of the screen)and i didn't get ATC text anymore.I use the latest Omega drivers (2.5.90). There must be a very simple solution for this fontproblem, i probably overlooked it a thousand times , but i can't seem to find it.Anyone?Thanks.Eric MSI MPG Z490 Gaming Plus | Intel Core i9-10900K @ 5.3GHz | 64GB Corsair Vengeance | Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3090 | 500 GB M.2 NVMe for win | 2TB M.2 NVMe for FS2024 | TrackIr v5 | Honeycomb Alpha & Bravo | Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog Eric from EHAM, a flying Dutchman.
October 30, 200421 yr Not being an expert, I can only offer ideas based on my own experiences Eric;Nvidea cards leave unwanted entries in your registry-get "Detonator Destroyer" to fix that.It will also have left redundant entries in your fscfg file,- delete the entries from your Fs9.cfg, or delete fs9.cfg altogether and allow flight sim to re-build it. You would need to re set a few things afterwards like screen res and some of the sliders and assignments, but it probably will work.HTH
October 30, 200421 yr Eric,H.Speight hit the nail on the head, moving from card to card, when they are of totally different chipset model and more so when they are two different manufacturers, there are severe problems if the previous VGA driver installations are not wiped.Get the suggested program and do the necessary cleaning. I normally use Driver Cleaner which also works fine. (http://www.driverheaven.net/cleaner)First uninstall the nVidia drivers if you haven't already, uninstall any drivers you may have installed for the new Radeon. Clean the whole system of any VGA drivers you may have, restart the system and install the new Catalyst drivers for the 9600XT.Good Luck
October 31, 200421 yr Author Well, thanks for the info guys, but the problem is still there. The detonator destroyer doesn't work wiht XP so i tried Driver Cleaner, followed the instructions, cleaned the whole system of any VGA drivers, let fs build a new fs9.cfg file etc and installed the newest Omega drivers again. To no avail. Still the same weird looking (sort of broken) fonts i've never seen with the Geforce 3 card.Tomorrow i'll try to attach a screenshot so you can see what i mean.Again, i have this feeling it must be something very simple, but i can't think of what.ThanksEric from Amsterdam MSI MPG Z490 Gaming Plus | Intel Core i9-10900K @ 5.3GHz | 64GB Corsair Vengeance | Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3090 | 500 GB M.2 NVMe for win | 2TB M.2 NVMe for FS2024 | TrackIr v5 | Honeycomb Alpha & Bravo | Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog Eric from EHAM, a flying Dutchman.
November 1, 200421 yr Author So here is the screenshot, i hope.I hope someone knows what to do with this (minor) problem as it disturbes my flying pleasure.Thanks.Eric from Amsterdam MSI MPG Z490 Gaming Plus | Intel Core i9-10900K @ 5.3GHz | 64GB Corsair Vengeance | Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3090 | 500 GB M.2 NVMe for win | 2TB M.2 NVMe for FS2024 | TrackIr v5 | Honeycomb Alpha & Bravo | Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog Eric from EHAM, a flying Dutchman.

November 4, 200421 yr Eric, I recently installed the new ATR from Flight one software and had strange fonts in the fmc. They have published a fix in their ATR forum that might work for you, it did for me. Involved removing a font file from the windows system and then simply replacing it to force windows recognise it.
