November 6, 200421 yr Checkout this new addon for the 800/900. It's complete FO/Ground crew/cabin crew program. It looks quite promising. You can download the Powerpoint presentation at the Avsim library.http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=56018Dave FisherCYYZP4 2.8 GB 478P 533 MHZ CPUP4P800S Asus Motherboard768 DDRGeforce Ti 4200/128Maxtor 80 Gig ATA 133 HDhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg
November 6, 200421 yr Hi Dave,Yes, it looks very promising, doesn't it? I am very surprised that there isn't more talk about it on this forum. Maybe it's because we have learnt to be wary of releases that are "just around the corner"(yeah, but how far to the corner? :-))?I downloaded the presentation, but I found it doesn't give much feel for how the product will work(admittedly difficult with a program that doesn't depend to any great extent on visuals). I am a bit disappointed that it is for the 800/900 series only. I respect the fact that the author is going for maximum realism, and so the program needed to be tied to a particular aircraft, but I didn't realise there were "significant" operational differences between the 600/700 and 800-900 series? Apart from the obvious(they're bigger!), the only difference I can think of that might affect normal procedures is the air conditioning system. Enlighten me, please?Still looking forward eagerly to the release of FS2Crew.BR,Frank
November 7, 200421 yr It's now become clear to me why FS2Crew will not work on the 600-700 series aircraft. This is because of the manner in which the F/O carries out his very detailed procedures(flows), which depend on finding the correct click spots for each action. Because the air conditioning is configured differently to the 800-900 series(compare PMDG Manual-Cockpit and Systems, 7-8 with 7-10), the click spots for the various switches and controls are also different and could cause confusion for the F/O. Maybe it will be possible in the future to configure FS2Crew for the 600-700 series, depending on how well it is received by the flightsimming community? In any case, I know I will be purchasing the program as soon as it is released.BR,Frank
