November 10, 200421 yr Author See page 8-45,46, and 47 of the FMC User's Manual:There is a FORECAST page inside the ECON PATH DES page. You need to fill it in with forecast weather. I think you have 3 different data fields you can fill in with several types of HDG/WIND.Check it out. November 10, 200421 yr Hi Guys,IRL we have a load of flight planning info including data that gives us the wind velocity and direction for each leg.. we also get a DES WINDS forecast that typically has a forecast wind at FL290, FL210 and FL130 for the DES section of our flight.Just a small point; everybody loves to bash the Met. men but in reality and to be honest they are pretty accurate and do a great job.Anyhow, these forecast winds are placed into the DES FORECAST page and personally I do all this in my pre-departure FMC setup.. even if my DEST is 1300nm away :)See Attached Image:DES WINDS:On DES I enter 290 at LSK3L I think it is and opposit it at LSK3R I put in the forecast wind for FL290 which might be something like 330/55, 210 = 270/40 and 130 = 230/25 as per the pic.TRANSITION LEVEL:In the DES FORECAST page we can also enter the TRANSISTION LEVEL but in PMDG this does not work correctly.. a very small bug if you ask me and not worth worrying about.THERMAL ANTI-ICE:You can take a guess at the use of ANTI-ICE as this will affect your DES PATH also. This isn't available in PMDG AFAIK.ISA DEV:You can also enter an ISA DEV for the DEST temp.. so if the DEST was YBBN which is 13'AMSL and the forecast temp WAS 30C then I enter 15 in ISA DEV. (Standard ISA TEMP is +15C)Hope this helps,
